    Jalapeño Hamachi sashimi
    Myra H.

We loved this sushi restaurant, been visiting almost every week or every other week. They serve really delicious, fresh seafood sushi and seasonable specials. We went last week. We ordered Tuna Flight, Uni Shooter, spicy scallop and spicy salmon rolls, Tuna chu toro, Tuna o toro, Tako sashimi, Jalapeño Hamashi sashimi. They were absolutely to die for. Reasonable price, very satisfying food. Servers are attentive and friendly. Thank you Nancy for your services!

Delicious sushi spot with modern twists. My friend and I got the Jason, Ryan and Kay roll all served on one platter. my friend got a Yuzu mimosa. We shared the sushi nachos which we a little soggy and something we would pass on next time. The sushi rolls were fresh and tasted great. The Kay roll was the most intriguing since it was all vegetarian with sweet potato being the star of the show. Very delicious and fun for the veggie ppl out there. Good spot, large dining room so you don't feel cramped, service was great. A few parties that came after us were familiar with the servers and it was nice to see the restaurant had returning customers or had some sort of community.

Lovely place with lovely people. In a plaza with parking available. I felt like the prices are a bit too high. Kai roll is not for me, with mango salsa but Ryan roll is exactly what I love! Delicious and would come back here for happy hour. Seared salmon nigiri was $10 for 2 pretty small pieces. Taste was great! Fun fact, their rolls are named after their chefs that created them :)

A hidden gem, tucked away like a secret garden--this restaurant feels less like a place and more like a passage into a romantic Japanese reverie. Bamboo frames the space in quiet elegance, creating a serene nook where time seems to soften. The servers moved with politeness and grace, though at times the rhythm faltered--orders could have been taken with a touch more attentiveness. Still, the atmosphere carried a gentle patience. The food arrived like small works of art--modest in portion, perhaps, and priced with confidence--but redeemed entirely by its quality. Each bite spoke clearly: flavors were vivid, undiluted, and alive. The miso soup was deep and honest, not watered down but full-bodied and warm. Even the simplest sides--crisp cucumbers, bright tomatoes--held a freshness you could almost hear. The sushi, in particular, was a highlight--delicate, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. And for those who shy away from raw fish, there was a satisfying variety, ensuring no one felt left out of the experience. It's the kind of place that lingers with you--not just in taste, but in feeling.

Came here to try one of their newest rolls. The Kai roll is a sushi roll that is unique, something I never had before. It is a fried sushi roll with 4 different types of fish topped with mango salsa. It was interesting! Staff told me that they have different kinds of sushi named after the chefs and they come up with their own signature ingredients which I thought was super cool. I was glad to try Kai's signature roll. I also ordered the Chirashi bowl. It was the freshest chirashi bowl I've ever tasted and every piece has different types of fish. The bowl was around $40 but it's worth a splurge once a while if you want something fresh. Their sushi rice is cooked to perfection and they also have complimentary miso soup. Staff was super friendly, place was spacious.

I recently tried Kazoku Japanese Cuisine and honestly, this place exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, calm, and very authentic. The wooden partitions and traditional Japanese design elements create a cozy space that is both elegant and relaxed. It is the kind of place where you can take your time and actually enjoy the experience, not just the food. What really stood out to me was the freshness and presentation. You can literally see the quality at the sushi bar, with beautifully cut fish displayed right in front of you. It immediately builds trust and anticipation. I ordered a mix of items, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The crispy rolls we had were perfectly balanced, with a light crunch on the outside and very fresh, flavorful fish on top. The textures were just right, not greasy, not heavy, just clean and satisfying. The crab tempura roll was also excellent, with a nice crispiness and generous portions. One of my favorite parts was how vibrant everything looked. The colors, the plating, the little details like the garnish and sauce all showed care and attention. It did not feel like standard sushi you can get anywhere, it felt curated. The menu itself is also really interesting. There are classic options, but also more elevated dishes like uni, toro selections, and specialty items that make the experience feel a bit more premium without being intimidating. You can go simple or explore more refined flavors depending on your mood. Service was smooth and pleasant. Nothing felt rushed, and everything came at a good pace. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, this is definitely a spot I would come back to. It hits that perfect balance between quality, atmosphere, and price. Whether you are going for a casual sushi night or something a bit more special, Kazoku delivers. Highly recommend. I felt like I was in Japan. I miss Japan .

We ordered the spicy scallop roll, salmon kama and grilled chicken plate, which we enjoyed a lot! Hubby approvingly commented that the spicy scallop roll was indeed spicy. The salmon kama was grilled to perfection - salmon was tender and had a nice char to it. The grilled chicken plate was tasty! Nicely grilled and mild not to sweet teriyaki sauce. The service was outstanding, as was the food we ordered. Friendly staff including our server, Ryan and the owner, Sumin. I recommend Kazoku for dinner and happy hour. It is a little on the spendy side and there is a drink minimum to order HH.

The service was really good. Ti ordered the chicken karage, geso karage, tonkasu don, California roll, miso soup. So far we kinda like the tofu don (though it was brought to us wrongly). The geso karage was also pretty good. We also had the kai roll and it was very refreshing to have a mango salsa on it. The restaurant has ample parking lot which is good. Love the staff too and very attentive.

Four of us went here for dinner the other night and really loved it. The staff was great (Waitress Wendy and the Owner), food was awesome and inside was decorated nicely. We felt very welcome and had great interaction with the staff who all seemed really happy to be there. It definitely shows. We shared a combination of our favorite rolls such as the Spider Roll, Crunchy California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Salmon sushi and a large decanter of the recommended Kamoshibito Kuheiji Sake. However, the main reason we came here was to experience the Yelp Community Event and the complimentary Kai roll. This roll is a tempura roll with 4 types of fresh fish and topped with a homemade mango salsa. The roll was invented by one of the chefs named Kai. All the food we had was delicious and fun to eat. I will return here one day. I recommend it to all.

I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. I was greeted warmly once entering the restaurant, and I was seated promptly. The menu has lots of items including appetizers, rolls, hot plate, lunch menu, seasonal/special menu, and drinks, etc. I had the Kai roll (named after the chef), firefly squid roll on the seasonal menu (Hotaru-Iku, freshly shipped from Japan, I learned that it emits blue light and only available 2 months/yr), and Hweh Dup Bap (a poke style salad with Gochujang with rice and miso soup). All the food was fresh and satisfying. The Hweh Dup Bap has a big portion, and I had leftovers to take home. I enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar and watch sushi being made. All of the staffs are very nice. The place is clean with good amount of seating. The food is on the pricier side, but given how fresh it is and the availability of rare fresh ingredients, I'd say it's still worth it.

Amazing food! I loved trying out Kazoku sushi. Our waitress, Wendy, was amazing. She gave us suggestions for saki and explained that the specialty rolls were named after the chefs, which was super cool! We even had a chance to meet the owner, who was awesome and passionate about what she does! We ordered a few different rolls to share between the four of us, including the spicy tuna roll, the crunchy California roll, the spider roll, and the shrimp tempura roll! All the rolls were delicious and came with 5-8 pieces each. We also got the Kamoshibito Kuheiji - Junmai Daiginjo sake, medium size, to split between two people. It was delicious, with a nice fruity flavor, and was served in wine glasses for a better taste. I also loved the sake holder with the ice cubes in it, absolutely adorable! The entire restaurant was beautiful and clean. I would love to go there again one day, especially to try the crispy rice and tuna tartare during happy hour!

Wow! Fresh fish and lovely ambiance. I liked that the music changed at 8 pm for happy hour too, fun touch! Loved the decor and atmosphere. Everything was clean and staff was super nice. Chicken katsu was good and loved how the rack was there to ensure the katsu stayed crispy. Sushi was lovely and we'll definitely be back. Took 1 star off because Seattle roll had way too much rice compared to the spicy tuna roll. Also, I found the smell of the udon to be too umami (wild mushrooms?) but it DID taste good! Will order everything again. Worth visiting.

Hweh Dup Bap - yum! Lots of sashimi under the veggies

I cannot give this fine restaurant enough stars. I've been frequenting Ryu Nakano's sushi…read morerestaurants for many years and it's some of the best sushi I've ever had. We reserve well in advance and mostly sit at the sushi bar. The space is on the smaller side but I've seen hopeful walk-ins be seated (I've also seen many turned away--I suggest reservations.) Service has always been stellar. We normally enjoy a salmon flight, a tuna flight, the kelp-cured scallops (must be ordered in advance) and whatever else strikes our fancy or Nakano-San recommends. It's always spectacular! I find the nigiri to be just about perfect--just enough rice to offset the fresh taste of the fish. There is plenty on the menu beyond sushi but we admit to coming here for one reason only so I can't speak to much else (although the green salad is very nice, as is dessert.) Plenty of wine, cocktail and sake options. I remember the many years we didn't have a sushi restaurant in downtown Edmonds so I never take an evening here for granted. We are fortunate to have Nakano-San as a part of our community. Check it out if you haven't yet, and enjoy!

I would say that many parts lived up to the high praises while others did not unfortunately :( The service was amazing! The staff were very attentive and kind. We were seated quickly and were not left waiting long for any part of our dinning experience which was very nice. We both got 2 portions of the 11 piece omakase ($53) and the great pacific northwest roll ($20) to share. The omakase offered good variety and came with an explanation of each cut of fish which was nice. We both enjoyed everything just fine but were left a little disappointed with the quality. Because of all the great reviews and the price point, I think we just were expecting to enjoy our meal much more than we did. The fish quality was not poor by any means but just not that good. The roll also lacked a bit of flavor as well :( I don't know if we just went on an off night or not, and I am hopeful that might be true. The ambiance was nice and balanced, the tables were spaced apart well, making the hum of the restaurant nice but not too much. I don't think we would be back due to the overall quality of our meal but it think it is worth a stop if you are craving sushi in the area.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! Went for an oddly timed meal on a Saturday around 4PM and they still had all their poke options. There are about 6-8 tables in the store, but quite a few folks take their meals to go. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.

I usually come here 2-3 times a year when I'm craving "fast" sushi. Since they've been open, I haven't had a bad experience or poor-quality food. If there's one small drawback, it's that some staff (not all) aren't always attentive with things like water refills. That said, service here is fairly minimal by design--staff mainly help with drink refills, clearing plates, and bringing out items that the conveyor or robot can't deliver. The ambiance is fast-paced and casual. You order from a tablet, and your food arrives via conveyor belt to your table. Most diners aren't here longer than 1-2 hours. It can get a bit loud due to close seating and the conveyor/robot activity, but it's nothing that takes away from the overall experience. As long as the food and service stay consistent, I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in the mood for quick, convenient sushi. TL;DR: Reliable spot for quick, good sushi with a fun conveyor setup. In long We've been meaning to try it forever and finally dragged our carcasses in here when we were coming back from an afternoon up north. Quiet Sunday night on Thanksgiving weekend, and we scored perfect parking and got a table instantly. So we're already in a great mood, right? It's a shoebox-shaped room with a few extra tables in one corner. Newish strip mall construction. You can come in from either end, which I would not have guessed. It's sparkling clean and well lit with some nice warmth to the lighting. Big flatscreens behind the sushi bar, probably tuned to the ballgame or the news or something. The menu feels comfortingly familiar. The usual apps, solid list of sashimi, lots of classic rolls and then a couple full pages of specialty rolls. Matcha for later. So far you don't feel like you're in crazy territory, though they do list hamachi collar as an all-the-time hot dish, which is cool. So many places run out of it right away and list it only as a special, but not here. The sake list is just enough--a couple of each type, some solid and reasonably-priced house options, a couple really nice picks. You get your sake right away and the miso doesn't take much longer. The takoyaki was delicious and beautiful. Lots of garnish, boiling hot, great flavor. Nice tako bits in there, lots of creamy filling. They garnish the seaweed salad with daikon and load it with cucumber. More places should do both of these things. The cucumber in particular enhanced the flavor a ton. Once the rolls showed up, things got better and better. The Love Hunter and the Amazing were both fantastic. Great combinations of flavors and textures, generously portioned and topped. We got some classic taki too, and that was a great contrast. I love it so much when places nail the classics and the modern. I got the deluxe sashimi dinner. For $36 this is such a value. The hamachi and the other tuna were both super buttery, the salmon had tons of flavor, and there were a couple other nice fish on the plate as well. It's great when you find a place you're super happy you tried, but this immediately goes into the rotation as an any-night sushi spot. Affordable enough you don't have to wait for a special occasion! Dig this place hard.

Highly quality sushi and great roll options :)…read more This spot is located very centrally within the Mill Creek Town Center so it is a good spot for a little day out in the area. It is a smaller restaurant so it may be a good idea to call before going in for the dinner rush. I went on a solo outing here for lunch and was surprised that they have an all day happy hour for most of their operating days (excluding holidays). The happy hour offered a great selection of apps and a good selection of rolls! I opted to try the smokey roll which was on the happy hour menu. This roll featured smoked salmon on top which was very tasty. I also ordered the deluxe salmon roll which was also very good! I recommend requesting a side of spicy mayo for the smokey roll. Overall, I was super happy for both of my rolls and the price was not too bad for high quality sushi!
