    Non-Alcoholic drink menu

Cutest lil vibey spot tucked away in town accepts walk in's for lunch, and reservations for dinner. Good vegetarian and meaty options from ramen, to noodles, to rice entrees, and beyond!!! Good Non-Alcoholic options. We had truly lovely service too. Made us feel welcome even with coffees and bike helmets in hand. Seating is indoor/outdoor with varying degrees of coverage (umbrellas to inside with windows), outside seating has heaters so quality we actually had to ask them to turn them off on a semi chilly day. Hugeeee yums all around! Would recommend :)

We wanted to sit outside since we came with our dog. But no outdoor sitting due to understaffing:( So we just ordered some to go ( we really wanted to try the ramen, but they do not do ramen to go). The karaage chicken was crispy even when it's cold! The quality of the meat for the burger is great! The udon stir fry is also tasty!

I loved that this is a noodle spot (probably the only one) in Lopez Island that aims to provide a slightly elevated experience via Pacific Northwest sourced ingredients. The best seller is the pork belly variants. However, it is a bit overhyped and fell short of expectations. We went here on Sunday for brunch and it wasn't busy, surprisingly. We tried the halibut dumplings, pork belly ramen, and the buttermilk pancake breakfast. Halibut dumplings - also had caper and shallots. This was $15 for 5 prices but justifiable since the halibut was really good and the dumpling soup inside was quite refreshing. This is some of the better fancy dumplings I have tried. Pork belly ramen - I love the pork belly - nicely smoked in house, and the accompaniments. The egg could be a bit better as it was a little overcooked for an ajitama. Broth was light but flavorful still. The noodles were a bit on the softer side, lacking the bounce. For $22 before tax and tip, I expected a bit more. I already had a place in mind that does this dish better for 30% less in the Seattle city center, the moment I took a bite. Buttermilk pancake breakfast - savory pancakes. Chili oil and garlic aioli was very flavorful yet not overpowering, and the same pork belly here was pretty good. It was a good serving but similarly, $22 was a bit steep. Because of the limited opening hours of this place and many others in Lopez Island, we settled to try it out for Sunday brunch. The menu is a bit underwhelming compared to the regular menu, even compared to the Thursday-Saturday lunch menu. I also didn't like how they decide to raise prices by 10% since the last brunch service 2 weeks ago - I felt like this is way too steep (I get it if you want to charge a lot for summer travelers but it's not even summer yet - many places are still not open). Inflation isn't 10% last time I checked. Additionally, if they're going to jack up the prices so much, they are regarding themselves as a nice sit down restaurant, but service falls short as tables aren't even properly cleaned (stained my clothes) and the server should know in confidence what's on the menu (I get that they changed the menu that same day, but I would expect them to know this info prior to opening for a nice, more expensive restaurant) Overall, I'm keeping the review as 3 stars, may adjust if I somehow make my way back to Lopez Island for dinner which they seem to have more impressive options. I just would not recommend for Sunday brunch.

Been wanting to come here forever. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to see the old location/menu but the new place was really nice. New menu? Ehhh definitely missing some items that I was excited for. Not sure I like that they sorta split their menu with The Galley. They've definitely lost a bit of their uniqueness. I had the coconut ramen, pickle plate, and tofu dumplings. Everything was absurdly good. Little more salt in the ramen would have been nice maybe. We found a dead earwig in the lettuce which was unfortunately but that's how you know it's fresh! lol

One of the few options on Lopez, the food here exceeded my expectations (though perhaps I wasn't expecting much to begin with). We got the mackerel and fish appetizer, which satisfied my craving for Japanese mackerel and was well priced. I enjoyed the sweet soy sauce that came with the pressed fish. For mains, my husband got the smoked pork ramen with chili oil and I got the spicy rib eye shoyu ramen. I really enjoyed the broth of mine, veggies were nice and the portion of rib eye was massive. Noodles were good too though I like a bit of chew to mine typically. We cleaned our bowls and would recommend!

I visited this esteemed establishment recently, and it was... fine. The udon was flavorful and the pork belly was smoked to perfection. However, a few points detracted from the overall experience. First, while the pork belly was standout and was tender and flavorful, parts of it were burnt to the point where I couldn't really eat it. I typically don't mind my bbq being little burnt, but those pieces look more like charcoal briquettes than pork! It was quite a lose-lose. If I eat it, I might get cancer, but if I don't eat it, I am literally leaving $5 on the table. For those familiar with Chinese proverbs, it really put me in a 雞肋 situation. The rest of the dish was good, but something I could have easily made at home. Overall, I would say that Setsunai is a decent place to go if you're on Lopez Island and don't have many other options, but certainly isn't anything to write home about.

Made a reservation for 7:15pm Saturday night and were seated outside promptly. After looking at the menu we decided to get the spicy pork ramen and the Udon noodle with Katsu Chicken. Both were good but this isn't your typical ramen. If you are looking for authentic Japanese ramen, this is not your place. Although it's the only ramen place on Lopez, it is very good. The broth is flavorful and the noodles were great! My only complaint was that it took us over an hour to get our food.

House-made noodles on Lopez Island!....The menu is full of ramen and udon noodle dishes along with tasty appetizers like pork-leek dumplings...Services was fantastic!...Everyone was so friendly and welcoming...Setsunai has a great small patio for dining and opens at 4pm...Make sure you have a reservation because it fills up quickly...Great dining experience on the island!

Not just the best noodles in the San Juan Islands, but perhaps the best noodles in the entire Pacific Northwest region. The atmosphere is great too. Josh, the owner and chef, focuses on locally-grown sustainable ingredients. Everything is fresh and made in his kitchen. He truly cares about delivering great quality food and a wonderful dining experience.

Absolutely delicious brunch. Had the scallion pancakes, mushroom and leak omelette, and French toast. The scallion pancakes were the star of the show, flavors were savory and worked really well together. Highly recommend the pork belly which had a lovely crust and smokey flavor. The French toast was made with Japanese milk bread and practically melts in your mouth, reminded me of strawberry shortcake. Excellent presentation across the board. Service was quick, and definitely recommend reservations as ambiance is a quiet environment with about 4 picnic tables available outdoors. Highly recommended, one of the best brunches we've ever had.

It was on the late side for lunch (past 1PM) so we were fortunate enough to be able to walk right in and get served quickly. The takoyaki wasn't the most octopus-stuffed I've ever had, but it was solid! My husband and I split the black sesame tonkotsu ramen and the yuzu shio ramen. Both were unique in their own ways; the black sesame flavor in that tonkotsu was super pronounced and it was a very hearty ramen. The yuzu shio was super light and very flavorful; the yuzu flavor was also super pronounced. Also love the amount of tender chashu slices they give you with each bowl. The lettuce in the yuzu shio bowl was not my favorite; I appreciate the thought of more fiber/something healthier but the soup is so hot that it cooks the leafy greens immediately and I don't love wilted lettuce in my ramen. But all the other toppings were great; bamboo shoots were super flavorful, nori was crunchy, and eggs were perfectly jammy. Great place to grab a bowl of ramen if that's what you're craving!

Adding to the outdoor ambiance inside, we were seated in a 'shaded porch' area, which still had plenty of room (such partitioning could reduce interior space). We were promptly greeted by the staff, who interestingly that day were not of Asian descent as typically found in Far East themed restaurants: more like your average Seattleite college-age server. I like that they bucked the stereotypes. As a ramen newbie, I was overwhelmed by the expert-level menu, the main reason I didn't give 5 stars. The menu starts with alcohol, leading me to look around for the food menu. There it is, tucked after several pages of booze and virgin drinks. The food section starts with the 'Botan Deluxe' (don't recall the actual name used) and lists the components using words that I as a newbie have either never seen before or maybe have seen but not understood, so my anxiety level spiked because I don't like being shamed into just ordering without understanding. Fortunately the waitress worked through this with me after my telling her my issue. The following page had a 'build your own ramen' blocked off into sections: noodles, broth, extras. With the extras, you get like 3 or 4 included (green onions, egg. garlic-something, seaweed, etc.) and more cost $1 extra (not printed on menu). I did the udon noodles, bone broth (insert fancy name but not with the fancy-name soy sauce added), and one extra ingredient over the included number. When asked 'tell me more about the green noodle?', the relatively new employee was unable to immediately describe, but went back and learned it was spinach blended. We also ordered a (fancy name) cucumber salad starter: yummy, sizable and recommended. The orders arrived promptly, with just a small break after the starter; the egg I ordered was replaced by bean sprouts: the served quickly and gracefully delivered the missing egg. Each ordered ingredient was placed as an individual island: it's up to the customer to blend or not (I enjoyed not mixing so to experience each flavor). The udon noodle was exactly as I had imagined and desired. My wife said she enjoyed her selection as well, although didn't pick out any unique flavor to the green noodle. The bill was right-priced if not even on the lower side for the neighborhood. We'll be back again to try more of the offerings now that we have a little bit of familiarity with the exotic descriptions.
