Really can't remember how I found this place, but I made it a point to drive down and try just about everything on their menu. We loved all of it. The only thing we didn't completely devour was the soup noodles because we were so full by the time we got around to it. Harbin Dumplings is located in a little food truck/cart park next to the water where there's sometimes also a taco truck, bbq truck and Turkish coffee, so there's a little bit of something for everybody. Don't skip the fried noodles or the pan fried buns (I think they're called). The noodles are perfectly chewy and the bits of cabbage mixed in really help balance out the flavor. The flat pan fried buns are SO JUICY. Make sure to also get the spicy sauce on the side. I should note that the food is greasy, so if you're not into that, I might reconsider. But I was so happy with my grease soaked napkins by the end of it and had plenty of leftovers to take home.

This is one of the new food stands in anacortes by the marina .The couple , shuli and Rick, operate this venue . They are happy to provide recommendations. We ordered the meat pies and pot stickers . Food is definitely authentic prices definitely reasonable . While their menu is limited , all their items are made to perfection. I highly recommend giving this place a shot .

An unassuming trailer parked in a gravel lot in downtown Anacortes is where you'll find a friendly owner operator serving up delicious northern Chinese cuisine. Each menu item is hand made from scratch including the dough for the noodles and dumplings. I'm

Good little food truck! There are only about 5 menu items. We got the spicy pork noodle soup and it was perfect for a chilly day. Seemed pretty authentic. We asked for it to be as spicy as possible and it still wasn't very spicy. Broth is thin and oily. Delicious.

Great Chinese dumplings made by a nice Chinese lady. We had each of the three types of dumplings she offers. They were all good. We visited Harbin, PRC earlier this year, and these dumplings are definitely in the same league as those we ate there in northern China. There's a little roped off area inside the shipyard fence where her food truck is parked. The signs are a bit confusing, but you can pull your car in next to the food truck while she prepares your order. There is no place to sit and eat. We stopped by a local market for some drinks, and ate our lunch at a local park.

Went to Anacortes today to run some errands, and while I was there I decided to look for something new. Found this place on yelp and knew I had to try it. The meat pies and dumplings are so good and juicy. They were really simple and fresh and the spicy dipping sauce was perfect. The first thing I noted, for anyone who likes to cook at home, was that the dough on the cooked dumplings smelled fresh. You can tell this is all from scratch. I was absolutely not disappointed, I got exactly what I was hoping for. Such a great find. I will be coming back!

Shuli and Rick are the nicest people. Stop on by and say, "Hello!" They are honest, hardworking, and the food is excellent too! Little pillows of heavenly goodness that is how I would describe the potstickers and meat pies. As an added bonus, the food is very kid friendly! My kiddo gave the food a thumbs up and it would have been two if his hands weren't busy quickly gobbling up his food. Authentic Chinese food with lots of meat in the pot stickers and the meat pie. The dough was fresh and delicious! I loved that it had lots of flavor. A fun lunch treat. We will be back!!

Noodle soup!

I was craving pork buns today and decided to make a trip out to this stand after searching on Yelp! It's located across the road from Safeway and in a small plaza with other food trucks. But WOW! I ordered the pork buns and the noodle soup and both were AMAZING! I would highly recommend getting some spice in the soup to add more flavor and kick, but the meatballs and broth were delicious regardless! The pork bun was tasty as well, not to mention that all menu items are handmade! Definitely going to go back for more! Would highly recommend!

Menu on a typical rainy day, but one that requires a parka.

Ask the Community - Harbin Dumplings

Will you ever do half orders of dumplings? Was so excited to try but I can't eat that many by myself.

Any vegetarian or vegan options? Thank you

An excellent question. Thank you. Vegetarian dumplings can be made special order in a large amount for a party, given a day's prior notice. We don't usually stock them. Many things can go inside a dumpling. Egg and green pepper are quite yummy.

They have a couple of fish tanks that are great to occupy little ones while you wait for the food. This was a quick stop for us. We order just 2 items and both turned out very delicious. 1. Steamed Pork Dumplings - Perfectly sized and juicy! 2. Barbecued Duck (Half) - very nice. Note this does not come with rice but you can order one on the side. Service was quick - we didn't too much though the dining hall was packing up quickly with the the dinner rush pouring in. You do get complementary tea on being seated which is always welcome when you are braving this windy island.

And thats a total of 5 grown adults not including myself. So 6 glasses and NO refills. How do you eat food without something to drink??? Besides that the food was below mediocre. So below average. I know of plenty better places but unfortunately I was visiting Canada for a few days and thought this might be half way decent. I was dead wrong. Don't come here unless you have low expectations and have no idea what great or even good Chinese food tastes like... and we ordered at least 20 different plates as a group that's how I know most of the food was trash. The only decent plate was the Lemon Chicken.

Most of them are quite justified as the filling is really packed! They do not skim on it so each bite is full of seafood or fillings. They are cooked to order so they come out nice and hot! Servers are attentive, came by a few times to check on us and offered water refill. The only downside is this place does not offer chilli oil which is essential for dimsum imo. The place is nice and clean and simple/minimally decorated.

That said there are a few things about the experience that I want to be upfront about. I was originally going to DoorDash it but the markup was significant, around 20% more on top of an already steep delivery fee, so I called in my order instead. Even picking up directly, the prices were a bit of a shock coming from LA where you can get dim sum items for around 4 to 5 dollars each. Here everything is around 8 to 10 dollars per item, which adds up fast. I would normally feel satisfied spending around 25 to 30 dollars per person on dim sum but here you are looking at closer to 40 per person for takeout, and that is before any tip. Speaking of tip, I do not typically tip on takeout and I do not think most people do either, but that did not stop them from turning around the iPad with 18, 20, and 25 percent preselected as the only visible options. Pressing custom tip and then typing in zero while the staff is watching you do it is an awkward experience that I think most places should rethink. It is a small thing but it leaves a bit of an uncomfortable impression. As for the food itself, the dim sum is solid overall. The shu mai could be a little meatier in my opinion, it felt a little light on the filling. My biggest gripe though was the soy sauce situation. I had to specifically ask for soy sauce and chili, and they gave me one single packet. One. For a full takeout order of dim sum. That felt really stingy and is an easy thing to fix. If they loosen up on the condiments and work on the tip screen situation I think this place would be a much more enjoyable experience overall. The food itself is worth trying, just go in knowing what to expect price wise.

The customer service was fine for a Chinese restaurant. The Peking Duck was the issue. Firstly, they didn't carve it in front of us and second, it looked like half the duck skin was missing - quite literally, they gave us half the duck's skin. Duck's are usually bigger than chicken so there should have been way more than what we had... it was haphazardly served on shrimp chips and the skins were cut in all sorts of weird sizes. Zero consistency. This tells me a couple things: one the Peking duck wasn't prepared in full for us, for this night, and two, it could have been left over from some other roasted duck. It definitely was off. I've had Peking duck many times and there's a lot of skin/meat in the first dish... not whatever was served to us tonight. I don't think I will go back. It was pretty brutal. The other two dishes were the saving grace but I definitely feel ripped off. The ambience was fine.
