    California Roll with Spicy Mayo
    Madisyn S.

Before meeting my partner, I had never been to Teriyaki Time but when she introduced me to it - it was love at first sight. I ALWAYS order a California Roll with Spicy Mayo, and it had been normal- I'd order, there would be a cup on the side with my sauce, however the last time I went, I had some trouble. I'm an arm amputee and while I can use chopsticks to grab and dip, sometimes my wrist gives out. I don't think they knew this but we went recently (my third time there) and the sauce was beautifully laid out on the sushi for me. There's a large chance that they just did it because they are trying new plating methods or whatnot but even then, their service and attention to detail is TREMENDOUS. I 100% recommend this place, their food is always delicious and they are always quick with everything.

We came for the ramen . There's not many restaurants that serve ramen so when a friend of friend sent a picture of her ramen we immediately decided that's where we were having dinner. We also ordered slalom teriyaki, sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice. Everything was great for each of our families cravings.

Teriyaki time was a great place to get some tasty large portions to fill you up. There was speedy service and very little wait for your food as well. I had the chicken teriyaki and gyoza combination lunch. The gyoza was great! So tasty. I enjoyed that the most out of my plate for sure. The chicken teriyaki was also good but I do prefer my teriyaki to have more of a saucy quality to it. These were a bit dry for me, personally. But still good. And the portion of rice was great. The salad was not a throwaway either. Next time I am visiting Anacortes I think I will try the sushi here. It seems to be popular among other reviewers. As for others looking to try it out, just remember if you come here to come hungry!

The Sushi chef is a food artist! I love this place!

The sushi chef is a master food artist! We love the crunchy sushi rolls and the shrimp tempura appetizer. They never disappoint!

Most American restaurants tend to give you gigantic portions, you can't fit it all in your mouth at one time which is what you're supposed to be able to do. My friends had domburi (rice bowl) or noodles and they all said the food was delicious. I can only speak about the sushi, I'll try one of their domburi dishes next time.

And it helped that it was within walking distance. Upon walking in, the staff let us pick an empty table. The place is rather typical looking for a family-run Japanese restaurant. It was clean, which is the most important thing for these quick lunch stops. - Takoyaki: OK. Good size, covered in bonito flakes. It was quite well presented and tasted fine. My only complaint was that it was close to lukewarm not hot, so it didn't seem freshly made. The greens seemed unnecessary. - Vegetable Tempura: OK. Nothing special. A good tempura batter is very light and airy, but this one was a bit bready. - Shoyu Ramen: OK. Good size, and flavors where there. The pork was the thickest piece I've ever had in a ramen bowl, but very tender, so no real complaints. - Chicken Teriyaki Rice: Not recommended. Chicken was tender enough, but I prefer chicken with skin. Plate was drowning in sauce. Edible, but not enjoyable. Service was simple and nice enough. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, we were satisfied. The food here caters to what locals want and expect, and they generally do a fine job with it. If I was hungry and was in the area, I would certainly consider it.

We love ourselves a good sushi-go-round, and theirs is always full of delish and affordable rolls when we visit. For nigiri, we order off the menu, and the fish has been fresh and hearty. On our most recent visit, we discovered that they have sushi happy hour daily until 3pm! Which means that each item we ordered was $1 off. When you like sushi as much as we do, this really adds up to a nice discount. All in our meal was just over $30 for the two of us and we were stuffed! This is a popular spot and we've never gone when there wasn't at least a short wait to sit at their popular sushi counter; but it's never been more than 10 minutes and is always worth it in the end. The only thing I don't like is the big TVs playing over the sushi bar. Gives it sort of a sports bar feel which, IMO, doesn't match with the sushi/Japanese-style ambiance.

The sushi itself was pretty good. What I didn't like was the teenage waitress having an…read moreinappropriate conversation with her friends and being a poor hostess to other customers. Additionally, when we were leaving I noticed food on the floor and grease film on the "clean" table. I hope I don't get sick after eating there.
