Went here in person and confirmed this place is spotless, very nice restaurant, clean and excellent customer service. It's on the east side of the tracks, which is wonderful for those of us who live on this side to have a great teriyaki place. We had chicken teriyaki and gyoza - the sauce was plentiful and flavorful, salads were fresh with dressing on the side and the gyoza was crispy on the outside and full of good flavor. We have been coming here for years. Even after leaving the area for years our first food stop when visiting has always been Cherry Teriyaki. Our experience tonight will make it hard to return. The white chicken was dry and rubbery. The sauce had an underlying bitter taste which made my white chicken inedible. There was no extra sauce as requested. In all of our visits we have never seen the new guy behind the counter. Hopefully it was just a bad night but unfortunately it will be a long while before we waste our money here when there are so many other teriyaki places that were almost as good. Super sad. read more

Chicken teriyaki is great. But if you pay 30 cents extra to make it "spicy" they just dump chili sauce on it right before serving. This same sauce is also at every table, just like every other teriyaki shop. We also had this seafood noodle soup that came with 1 big shrimp and a dozen micro shrimps. It was also super salty. If we had just gotten this, our visit would have likely been 2 stars. Came here after lunch rush and place was absolutely freezing. Owners wearing winter coats inside. It's a nice little mom and pop shop with a very quaint and welcoming atmosphere. Tons of options from the lunch specials to sushi. I don't normally do reviews but for this place I had too. First of all, the place looks very raunchy inside. Second of all, when we got there the lady asked if we ordered food on the phone, we said no, then she said "oh no no no we can't take your order, we're out of rice, maybe next time" and just went behind the beverage dispensers. Not a great first experience here 1. When asking for a number one, woman at counter insisted we get number two 2. Added extra 30 cents to make my boyfriends teriyaki spicy, but wasn't spicy whatsoever 3. When we asked for extra salad dressing, she kept insisting that there was enough dressing on it, then finally gave us a cup of it. Was a weird watery dressing. 4. Bottle of chili sauce was really gross. Was the same on tables around. Old chili sauce crusted heavily over nozzle. Would not use it. 5. Rice was slightly burnt and cobwebs and dust in back section of restaurant. The food was very tasty, and service was good. Friendly couple, providing good food and good service. I and my nephew and his daughter went in on a Saturday night, the place was quiet, and subdued. It's been a while since I've done the "teriyaki thing," but this place came highly-recommended via word-of-mouth. I was not disappointed. The flavors were a perfect mix of sweet, spicy and salty. The vegetables and beef were cooked to perfection. The server was friendly and efficient, but hag little interaction beyond taking my order and bringing me my food. My only negative: the tables had that sticky - waxy feel of "many times bleached veneer." The teriyaki and the sriracha bottles were similarly sticky-waxy. This place is pretty good, it's not the best food ever but it's pretty decent. The teriyaki chicken is always great and they give you a generous serving of rice with it and also a side salad so I feel like it's a good amount of food for the price. The sushi on the other hand isn't the greatest and after trying a few rolls that contained fish and not liking it I decided to give an avocado cucumber roll a try tonight and it was actually pretty good I would get it again for sure but I'm staying away from the fish rolls. The Goyza is also always delicious so I would recommend that along with the miso soup that's pretty tasty my only complaint is that tonight I didn't get any tofu in my soup and that's the best part imo. read more

It was freezing and really really dirty inside, the 2 ladies working had the only booth table taken over with their stuffand were just sitting there the whole time talking after we ordered. My favorite Teriyaki joint in the area. I used to have a business in Burlington and ate lunch here way too often. Now I eat here less often but not because I don't love it. I especially like the Chicken Teriyaki lunch special that includes an egg roll. My only suggestion for improvement would be to use the creamy sweet salad dressing that many other teriyaki places use but this is a minor non-issue for me. read more

The lady working the counter and answering the phone is short and overall rude. This place used to be decent, but the quality of food has taken a nose dive. The teriyaki sauce has way, way too much ginger, it's practically all you can taste. To make matters worst, the teriyaki is either outrageously drenched in the sauce or barely has any at all, there's no consistency what so ever. The donburi has a pathetic amount of meat in it and is primarily green beans which is not even mentioned on the menu as being in it, let along the primary ingredient. It's supposed to be a meat over rice dish, that's certainly how it's described on the menu as well. If you get it, hope you like green beans. The gyoza is fairly decent, but that's about all the place has going for it. The other thing that I found quite irritating is that they lie about their prices. I ordered take out off of their online menu, only to find that the in-store menu is drastically more expensive. Really feels like a bait and switch. I ate here a handful of times and have found that with each visit, the price goes up and the quality of the food goes down. At this point, I could barely eat the food I had purchased, it was gross. I suspect the teriyaki they served me was made far ahead of time, as it was cold when I got it and having arrived less than 10 minutes after takeout, it was already ready yet somehow was already very, very, cold. In fact, the outer parts of it were a bit warm, but the center was below room temperature. I think it'd been taken out of a refrigerator and warmed in a microwave but not for long enough, as I don't know any other way that's possible. After having drastically lower quality food here and being asked to pay almost twice what had been advertised, I will not be eating here again. If I wanted fast food teriyaki, I would of gone to Jack In The Box up the street, gotten a similar, perhaps even higher quality product for a better price. Which is sad because Jack's teriyaki is pathetic and nasty. Absolutely unacceptable that they charge a different price than they advertised. Oh and they apparently don't have any singles to give change, so better hope you've got exact change or close to it or the lady working the counter will browbeat you and treat you like some sort of criminal. Never again, very disappointed in how this place has suddenly become very expensive and is now serving pre-made, microwaved food. No idea what happened, but this particular restaurant is no longer worth eating at. I actually still feel a little sick a day later after eating there, so there might be a sanitation issue as well, not sure. The place certainly doesn't look as clean as it used to, I can tell you that much. Highly suggest you avoid this place and look elsewhere. It's simply not the same restaurant it was a couple years ago or the lesser but still decent place it was a few months ago even. Not even close. We went there trying out a new Chinese/Teriyaki place because it's my favorite food, but I have to be careful because I have food allergies. I called and asked if they did take out and if they have broccoli beef, she said yes. So I ordered 1 order of broccoli beef and 1 order of beef teriyaki. When she said "be ready in 5" it should have been our first red flag. When I walked in I proceeded to pull out my card for payment. She seemed almost offended stating "oh I usually ask for cash only. You don't have cash?" I said no. She just stared at me for a long time "......you don't have any cash?" I replied "no I'm sorry I didn't know. I don't have cash, should I go?" She didn't say anything and took my card very fast. When I got home I opened up both our dinners....they were both luke warm, almost as if they have been sitting half the night and they stuck it in the microwave to heat it up. I also noticed that both orders had the SAME kind of beef. Which usually they dont use teriyaki beef with beef and broccoli. It seemed they just separated the beef and microwaved some broccoli for mine and threw it on no seasoning or anything of the sort. I'm actually offended of what they did. I have eaten here since Arrim and Myung first opened here, and at the Teriyaki House restaurant in Mt Vernon they owned prior to opening here. These are GOOD people who care about their customers and food. Their prices are too low, the food is consistently good, and it is the benchmark I use when I eat out at other Japanese style restaurants. We will travel past most other restaurants to get here to eat, and I recommend that you do the same. read more

This was my first time at Cherrys. When I walked in I was surprised at no one inside .In fact the cleaning station looked as if never out of place and the tables never used... And the place was freezing. The woman taking orders kept saying take out, and I said no staying to eat.She seemed very surprised. It was an extensive menu to view. I gave up and ordered the Combo. It didn't take long to receive my order.I kept listening for some kind of sign that something was being cooked in the kitchen...yet I heard nothing. The food was just warm..as was the white rice...quickly became cold because of the room's temperature....The food was tasty ,,,but because of the 'eeriness' of the service and restaurant's vacancy of customers..I wondered if the food was fresh and if I would be getting sick..Terrible to have to sit there and wonder over that thought....I noticed take out cartons at a service table so I went and got one...both owners were sitting in a blocked off area watching an Asian program...never asking how things were.....as I was leaving the male owner did give me a generous smile and a thanks for coming....So much potential,, yet that's the last for me....This feels like The Shinning.. of restaurants.... read more
