    Biscuit sandwich. 5/5 stars!
    Keri M.

Not a long wait around noon on a sunny summer weekend. We were given a table with silverware and filled glasses of water. We were confused because we weren't given any menus to look at. So we sat there for a couple of minutes until a server came by and asked us if we were ready to order. She cleared the confusion when she mentioned that we needed to scan their QR code. Their menu is so creative! The food is anything but basic! I ordered the biscuit sandwich with pulled pork. Daaaaaammn!!!!! The biscuit itself was really good but the pulled pork... was stupid good. That was thee best pulled pork I've ever had! I've lived in Austin and Texas doesn't come close to this. (I hope I'm not offending anyone) This place has historic charm with a feel-good vibe.

Stopped here on our way to Anacortes Ferry Terminal. This definitely is a must stop. Nonstop locals in and out of this place. Has a diner / cafe feel with a ton of pictures on the wall. And lots and lots of globes. Meant to ask about the globes but forgot. My wife and I split the Pancrepe (the size of a small manhole cover) and the Avocado Toast 2.0. Pancrepe light and tasty and the Avocado toast on a slice of focaccia with bacon and 2 poached eggs. Focaccia was crispy on the surface yet wonderfully soft on the inside. Prefer this over a piece sourdough toast any day. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. The young lady today especially helpful. Oh and try their 3 hot sauces. I bought two of them. The salsa verde one was my least favorite.

Wowza! This places hit all my needs after a nice beach walk up in Anacortes. The vibes when walking in were spectacular, the music was very indie/chill/pop, there was so much to look at and so much art! The staff was fun and made sure we were stocked with waters, sauces, napkins and all our needs. The food was outrageously good. I got the brisket mushroom melt and even the leftovers were bomb! Everyone else finished their food so fast, they were bummed they didn't have leftovers like me haha.

Schnitzel with gravy, eggs, potato & biscuit

Came here from Oak Harbor for ours son's 4th birthday breakfast and it was AMAZING! We've been here a few times before but it's been awhile. Our server was awesome and attentive. We don't often get service like this anymore, full coffee cups and full water cups the entire meal. Another server brought a little toy to keep our son entertained. The food was amazing, so filling and so tasty! The schnitzel was crispy and the potatoes were super crispy which I love! The amount of food for the price is spot on. The server didn't rush us out and we enjoyed our time together as a family for our sons bday. The atmosphere was chill and we loved the window spot. They gave us a complimentary cupcake to celebrate and sang happy birthday to our son which was so lovely! We will definitely be back and would rather make the 30 min drive for this kind of food and service over anything you could find in Oak Harbor!

Stopped here heading back from the islands for breakfast. I got the Hash and it was so so good. The potatoes were perfectly spiced and the crème was delicious. Service was great as well! Got 3 coffees during my 45 min stop before we hit the road!!!

Short spare rib rice plate- recommend!

Had an eye on this place even before we arrived to town for the weekend. And oh man oh man! We will definitely be back again. Service was amazing and food came out in a timely manner and warm. It's located in downtown in a great spot with plenty of street parking. If you notice a line, scan the QR code on the outdoor sign to place yourself on the waitlist. You'll be notified through text. I spotted the rice bowl and couldn't choose between the pork belly or the spare ribs so I asked the waitress and she definitely recommended the spare ribs. The spare rib rice bowl did not disappoint! It was well seasoned, tender, aioli added such a nice touch. The broccolini was cooked very well. Next visit, I'll ask for more aioli to dip the ribs in. So good! My bf got the Oklahoma fried onion burger. It looked so good with the ooey gooey cheese. The onions were cut quite thick but overall good flavor. Opted in for the large jojos which needed some more seasoning to add flavor, or at least salt. The spicy aioli would have gone well with it.

We ate here twice. Once for dinner and then breakfast. Had the Hash with sausage, biscuits and a pancrepe for breakfast and a smash burger and Old Fashion for dinner. The food was tasty and delicious. The inside is a old style diner motif with a very classic feel. We were waited on diligently and with a very welcoming attitude. Great place to eat for anytime of the day.

    Cuban sandwich

I made a trip from Oak Harbor to Anacortes specifically to eat at Dad's Diner because I mentioned going to Anacortes to get some lunch somewhere and the person I was talking with enthusiastically suggested I try Dad's. So, I decided to give it a try and was very happy I did so. There is a real diner feel to the atmosphere, complete with counter seating and chalkboard menu. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The pulled pork sandwich was suggested during the conversation about going to Dad's, but after reading the menu I decided on the Cuban sandwich because I really like those sandwiches. This Cuban was a little different because the meat was chopped and mixed with a tasty sauce. I still thought it was very good and didn't have any issues with it. The sandwich included jo-jos (some call the potato logs) that were coated in a rub. I thought they were cooked to perfection and tasted great. I am a fan of spicy food and couldn't resist trying the house hot sauce that they call "Badassco Hot Sauce". I asked the server about the sauce and was told there are two versions. One is hotter than the other. I tried the hottest version that included Scorpion peppers in the ingredients. It was very spicy indeed!!

Woah their beef and chicken burgers are so delicious! Mouth watering and well seasoned!!! Fun and polite place to be on a summer day!

With a little time on our hands we drive into Anacortes since we've never really been there, only passing through to catch the ferry. Realizing it's the 4th, we happen to catch the tail end of the Anacortes 4th of July Parade. At this point it's around if not after lunch time. Well with crowds and traffic we go on a walk-about in search of food and not more than a klick from our position we find this nice little lot by the marina with some food trailers. Choices, choices, choices, those being Chinese food, BBQ and Gourmet Hot Dogs. First choice was the dogs, but the line was a little long for us. So we went with BBQ...again glad we did. It was a bit of wait, since it had just opened not to long ago, some folks already waiting and one person doing food prep, cooking, taking orders and running the till, he mentioned waiting for someone else so help was on the way, but he did great, and the wait wasn't that bad. So for lunch we had one beef brisket sammy, two pulled pork sammys, one topped with coleslaw and with other with mac-n-cheese and beans on the side. First the sides, both probably one of the best I've had, no seriously. I'm not a real big mac-n-cheese guy, but this one was damn tasty. I love that I could tasted the cheese and it was not weak in flavor. I thought it was as good as if not better than that one Pike Place Mac-n-Cheese place. Then there was the beans, OMG, those baked beans were no joke...awesome! I so wished I'd gotten more of that. Then the sammys: The brisket was so tender, so juicy with some excellent flavor. Not smothered in BBQ sauce, it was just the perfect amount and tasted so good! The pulled pork sammys were excellent, lotsa pork with the perfect amount of sauce so they complimented each other flavor-wise so it's not all BBQ sauce you taste. Bottom line, some DAMN GOOD BBQ! Some restaurant's idea of BBQ is to take meat and cover/drown it in sauce-ugh. i.e. Applebee's bottomless riblets (only thing going for it is that it is bottomless-but it's nothing more than BBQ sauce with meat texture....I digress). Anyhow, the next time we are passing through, this definitely will be a stop. Surprised not to find it on YELP so I had to add it myself. It was that good! Now hopefully you can support a local small business and get some excellent BBQ too!

You walk in and order your food at the counter, then head next door (still inside the same building) to grab your beer. My husband said his burger was good, BUT THESE RIBS, YALL. They stole the show. They were honestly the best ribs I've EVER had! So tender, and the dry rub was amazing. I highly suggest getting them dry and getting the BBQ sauce on the side. That way you can taste how good they really are before being drenched in their delicious BBQ sauce. As for the beers, I wanted to give a shout out to their Coconut Stout. I've had many coconut stouts that I want to be good, and they all fall flat. We have eaten all across Western WA with many disappointing recommendations but this one blew us away. First things first. Make a reservation. It has that homey chaotic feel as it is a smaller place, very busy but still very inviting. We were met by Papa who is hilarious and just sets the tone for the experience here. All of the staff are very engaging and have wonderful personalities as well as are very proficient in their positions. This place is very much dinner and a show. It was great just watching the mechanics of how everyone worked together and interacted with each other as well as customers. We sat at the bar and I ordered a drink while my wife ordered a handmade lemonade. (she does not like the sugary ones from the gun so the bartender made her one from scratch-she loved it). There are 2 menus, the traditional menu and the specials board. We were served homemade bread with oil and balsamic and also ordered a Caesar salad to split for a starter. I ordered the lasagna from the traditional menu and my wife ordered the Pork Belly Cannelloni from the specials board, both were absolutely delicious. You can tell they make their pastas from scratch as the texture was spot on. The flavor combination for the cannelloni was something I had never had and might be my favorite pasta dish I have ever had. We couldn't finish the portions that were given to us and we were excited to get to enjoy them again at home the next day. We did order the Creme Brulé Cheesecake to take as well and that was also delicious. We got the check and had to relook at the bill to make sure they got everything. For the level and quality of food, we expected the bill to be much higher. Overall we cannot recommend this place enough.
