Solid cafe. The American style breakfast is great. It's a little quiet in there but I was there at 11am. It's a regular lunch spot for a lot of people. Service was good, not over attentive but showed up when you needed it.

Huevos Rancheros With scrambled eggs and refried beans

We stopped at this hidden cafe for brunch on a weekend. Easy to find. Ample street parking. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Passion Mango Mimosa and Huevos Rancheros (two eggs topped with cheese, ranchero sauce, and refried beans), and a side of bacon. The mimosa was delicious. The ranchero sauce was flavorful and paired nicely with the refried beans and eggs. The tortillas tasted store bought (still delicious) and the green and red salsa served as a condiment (red and yellow squeeze bottles) were flavorful with minimal spice. Service was friendly, attentive, and patient. Will definitely return for the enchiladas and carne asada. Hands down the best refried beans and mimosa on island.

Food was amazing service pretty fast for this amazing food staff was super nice and excited when we ordered there famous margarita keep it up 5 stars

    Chilaquiles and breakfast burrito

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our breakfast here. We had chilaquiles and a chorizo breakfast burrito and we're both very pleased. The chilaquiles had a nice creamy red sauce with the crispy chips, fried egg, black beans, and our cream. They also served their homemade corn tortillas on the side with two different salsas and it was all VERY tasty. I'm so excited to go back and order more of their menu for breakfast and lunch!

Chicken Chimichanga with rice and beans

I was out walking around getting my steps in and checking out the snowfall in town (Oak Harbor, WA) while on my way to my favorite watering hole "Krakens Cove" to chat with my friends. Unfortunately, the nasty weather didn't allow Krakens Cove to open today. So, after scratching my head to decide where to go, I decided to stop at Noe Jose inside Harborside Village on Pioneer. I wish I could say the food here reminds me of Mexico, it is very good! But, I wouldn't know because I've never been in Mexico. So, I guess I'll just have to say that the food here is great! I ordered the chimichanga, because like they said on tv's "Two and a half Men", it's so much fun to say!! I ordered my chimichanga made with chicken. I barely had time to get settled in and my server was delivering my food! Quick, efficient service! The meal included rice and beans with a little sour cream and shredded lettuce on the side. There was also two squeeze bottle of homemade sauce, red sauce and green sauce. I preferred the flavor of the green sauce, but thought both were tasty.

    Carne asada
    Saemyi L.

The carne asada was full of flavor! I also loved the rice as well. The grilled onions and jalapeños were sweet and charred perfectly. Their house salsas were so spot on! So authentic and flavorful. I would say the service was TOP NOTCH! Jose was great with recommending menu items to us, explained a bit about their family restaurant. He did such an awesome job! And even brought out a few homemade tortillas for me to enjoy with my meal. We were from out of town visiting, and found this place on Yelp and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Don't be intimidated by all the varieties on the menu, just go straight to the Mexican menu!

Super Mexican breakfast. Machata with hash browns and homemade fresh tortillas will hold you to dinner. A little pricey but great service.

The fresh albacore brioche, rockfish taco with chips, fishwich (fresh fried fish sliders my favorite of all) pork sliders, wedge salad (amazing amount if dressing if you like it drenched), and garlic cheese fries, plus a kids cheeseburger/fries for the little one (which was a decent size) Drinks: Watermelon Mojito and Raspberry Lemoncellio (not on HH but so tasty and flavorful) All three in our group enjoyed ourselves. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. There are signs that say to expect an hour for your visit because everything is freshly prepared. We would've gladly waited an hour because everything tasted well, but we didn't have to. Items came out a good pace. There are two dining areas, the one to the right is bigger called the chandelier room with the bar, dining tables and two restrooms. The one to the left is gives off diner vibes with one nearby restroom.

Callen's is a happy medium - a beautiful view, but a casual, comfortable dining area/bar with great food. There's lots of great seafood options here and classic american salads and sandwiches. Everything is prepared well and feels fresh. The kitchen consistently is a bit slow, although service is attentive throughout. There's a notice on the menu that says to expect slower service - this isn't. 20 minute meal before you get on the ferry - it's a leisurely experience with time to have conversations. It's also very accessible - parking out front, a nice ramp, and three single stall accessible bathrooms!

They have menus by the window, and you order at the counter, we found ample seating near the windows to look upon the passerbyers. We ordered cold items so they wouldn't take too long up prep; a side of macaroni salad, a Keegan-the-Vegan sandwich and a Honey Lavender Latte to share. Everything was lovely and a perfect portion for us, splitting the sandwich and the creamy mac salad. The sandwich had curried chickpea salad and it was delicious! The Lavender Latte was perfection, not to sweet but a yes in the lavender world. We overheard others come in specifically for their cookies, so we grabbed a coco loco to go. It was filled with coconut and macadamia nuts, was so perfectly moist in the center. Thank you Krista for looking after us!

There is some street parking, but we ended up parking in a public parking lot north of the cafe. The place is cute and charming, and it's decorated with art that is for sale. The menu on the wall was just for drinks, and their food menu was laminated nearby for us to peruse. We had a nice chat with JJ (who I think is the co-owner), and he was very bubbly and nice. It was fun to witness his kindness to other customers and neighbors as they came in. This place seems very involved with the community. There are a few tables both outside and inside. The TV behind us was playing Pandora for radio music. Nearby, they had some free chocolate-covered coffee beans and your own water and silverware station. I got an Arnold Palmer, and boy, was it tart! I got my own sugar to try to sweeten it up. I also ate the Ricky Ricardo panini, and it wasn't my favorite. The aioli wasn't flavorful enough for me to notice, or maybe it was missing, and the pickles were too thick. I didn't love the flavor profile on this sandwich, and it was pretty hot (in temperature) to eat, so I had to let it cool down a bit. Connor loved his smoked salmon toast! There were a ton of capers, so lots of salt there. The herbed cream cheese was the star of the show, with the flavorful toast being a close second. He really appreciated it. I think I'd be happy to come back and try a different sandwich.
