    Burrito Bowl!

As usual the food was freaking amazing. Everything is super fresh and perfectly seasoned. The staff is ALWAYS very welcoming and kind. They even remembered our order down to the sides and meat selection. The restaurant itself is always clean and in good order. If you haven't already experienced this gem, I highly recommend it! Cheers!

Went in on a Saturday for lunch. Very long line that entered before it got bad. Pretty good food system but it still takes patience when they are slammed like that. Great tacos and salsa bar. They are usually out of flautas which comes with beans and rice. So we got tacos and one.quesa birria. This one was good but kind of too rich in the end. The funny thing is after more than a year they have not/cannot figure out how to update the pricing for the fancy new screens. The pricing is roughly 15-20% higher now (.50 per taco) than what is posted. They counter this with hand written notice on the wall.... But this time I was served by a much more kind and gracious young lady that I suspect isn't family. I was gl

Hands down the best Mexican food on the island and honestly in all of Washington in my experience. The authenticity shines through their meals and it's such a close knit family business which makes me want to keep going back. The ambiance and vibe is always sociable and hype which helps make time go by more quickly as they can be very busy. But it's always worth the wait. My go to is the carne asada torta, carne asada fries, or burrito. Their carne asada is so authentic, seasoned perfectly, and the flavors combined are immaculate. The salsas are always fresh and extremely flavorful, I truly think this island is blessed to have such a delicious Mexican restaurant. They deserve Sundays and Mondays off because they work so incredibly hard during their week! LOVE JUMBO!

Jumbo Burrito is hands down one of my most favorite restaurants in Oak Harbor. They serve up exceptional food and are the nicest people. My go-to is their tasty Birria tacos w/ consumme, guac & chips, beans & rice, and mouthwatering Tamarindo drink. Not to mention their amazing and huge Jumbo Burritos that I keep forgetting to take a picture of, lol. Support a small family-run business and eat here now. You will not regret it! I wish I lived closer and I would eat here pretty much every day!!!

I'll preface this by stating I've lived in the area for a couple years now and I've had their food as takeout so I have had jumbo before ( via my lovely hubby who's on deployment) i never physically leave my house I am a DoorDash customer so I hadn't been to the establishment until yesterday Dec 10th, with my son. They was only two guests inside both seater and eating and no line and no one ordering. The man behind the counter was having a very friendly conversation with one of the gentleman seated across from the restaurant again it was empty and the counter is not close to the tables so we the four people could hear everything. I walked to the counter to see what the food looked like as I've only had it fully assembled and never had to order it myself I stood there and I noticed a woman in the back looking up at the counter. The man is still having his conversation and I'm still waiting quietly, I have a toddler so to keep him patient as it seems we will need to wait until they reach the end of their very important conversation I grab a juice from the well stocked fridge they have a wide selection of beverages and are fully stocked. The woman then comes to the front and both men the customer eating and the one behind the counter still conversing begins to make tacos I believe and hand them to the woman who then eats them by the register. My son takes his juice and places it on the counter, as we stand there still waiting they begin to ring up the man on the register and the man behind the counter finally spits out what can he get me. I did not order what I wanted and I did not get the toppings or customizations my husband gets which is chipotle chicken instead of carne asada bc I don't like carne asada but I enjoy fries and toppings. This is the first time I have not tipped at an establishment in oak harbor. Then a different woman came out and was nice and complimented my son. The other customers eating were ( Caucasian men) I am Mexican I speak Spanish I do look alternative and I hate to say this I felt very disappointed and disrespected. I knew from my experience at the restaurant I should not have eaten the food bc I knew Deep down since the vibe was bad it was not going to be good. ( no me iba caer bien) but I paid 24$ so I picked most of the meat off and ate it and it tasted good. A couple hours later I started to feel nauseous and dizzy and I called my man to tell him I wasn't feeling to well that I would be taking a nap. I woke up this morning at 2am to throw up the GD carne asada fries. So trust your gut instincts when you feel unwelcome or uncomfortable just leave

Hands down one of the best dining experiences ever. The kindness hits you the second you walk in, and the food? Next-level. Life-changing. Worth a flight from South Carolina. Fair prices, flawless service--add this to your must-stop list and thank me later.

There was…read moresome sort of festival going on downtown so I was a little afraid that it would be too busy for us to get a table, but we had about a 45 minute wait and while we waited, we just walked around to all the cute little stores. I got the Jamaican mussels with linguine added, and oh my gosh, I cannot even explain to you, the flavor, explosion and deliciousness. I was a little afraid when I saw Jamaican because I actually have a sensitivity to black pepper of all things which usually means I can't eat anything that has jerk in the name which is what my mind immediately went to. These mussels, however, were so delicately flavored, but also so intensely flavored with the mixture of Jamaican spices and coconut milk and with some fresh fruit like mango added in. It was absolutely phenomenal. My mom got the crabcakes entree which comes with a salad. Their Caesar dressing is definitely homemade. It made me close my eyes in ecstasy. Then my cousin got the garlic, shrimp prawns - I think that's what it was called. He said his dish was absolutely delicious as well. The view is right on the water and the staff were attentive and friendly. I will keep bringing friends and family who visit here over and over so I get to experience it again too!

My…read moregirlfriend's mom talks about it highly and I highly anticipated having dinner with her there. Being Friday and bring 5pm, we probably should have made reservations, but decided against it. We did get one of the last two unreserved tabes, the "reserved" tables being at the window overlooking Penn Cover. It was a beautify evening and Mt. Baker was looking glorious, as we entered a full dining room. Odd, there was no one at the bar. We sat down and the first thing I noticed was the young child behind me screaming and crying and the parents ignoring the tantrum. After about 10 minutes the child was taken outside but this wasn't how I wanted to start a nice Friday dinner. But that isn't a knock against the establishment or the service, just an observation. We ordered a round of drinks, the Stoller Family rose and a pilsner from 7 Seas Brewing, along with the calamari appetizer. Drinks came quickly and were followed a few minutes later by our calamari. This gave me time to look at the art (for sale) hanging on the wall, lots of neat wood carved pieces that lent to decor of the place. The appetizer arrived and it was a nice size order of deep fried calamari and a pink side sauce for dipping. The breading was flavorful, crispy and not too heavy, lending to the flavor of the squid. The sauce as expected kicked it up a notch with just a hint of spice. Dinner, I opted for the fish and chips, because you can never good wrong with such a simple, filling dish. The white fish was thick and flaky, coated in a simple batter that was "GBD," golden, brown, delicious! The chips were actually thin fries and not the thick cut chips I was hoping for. Overall the chips were average, but the fish was wonderful with a dash of malt vinegar on top. My girlfriend's mom got the crab cakes and a side salad. Very generous with the crab and light on unnecessary fillers. Both cakes were lightly breaded and fried, served with a simple sauce and lemon wedge. All in a nice meal with good seafood. Our server was quite attentive, especially in a crowded setting, we never felt hurried and enjoyed our time together.

For starters, we ordered the artisan bread, a dozen oysters, and the beet salad. As someone who bakes and sells my own artisan sourdough, I was underwhelmed by the bread. I liked the touch of truffle they add to it but it needed salt. And it also needed to be on the table well before the 35 minutes we waited for it. The oysters were also not very memorable. I can't remember what one of the varieties was, but they were brinier than I care for but that's just a personal preference. The kumamotos were the TINIEST oysters I've ever seen. I've eaten my share of kumamotos and I know Japanese oysters are generally smaller and sweeter than other varieties (which is why they're my favorite) , but I'm not exaggerating when I say they were the size of quarter. I also didn't like the frozen mignonette they served as an accoutrement. It didn't seem frozen--it spread like jam. It didn't really taste like vinegar or shallot like mignonette should. It was just not very good. The beet salad was EXCELLENT. The chèvre was generous, the bitter micro greens tasted great with the beets and chèvre. It was well seasoned. We devoured it. For entrees, I had the dayboat scallops and my husband had the duck leg. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the leek risotto was very tasty. I'm not really sure what I was supposed to do with the pickled lemon on my plate. I tried to eat a small piece with the other elements and it was so overpowering that I left the rest on my plate. Now let's talk about the protein--my $52 scallop dish came with THREE scallops. Not even whole scallops as I'm pretty sure they were cut in half to cook more evenly. Three small 1/2 scallops and two cubes of pork belly. For Fifty-two dollars. My husband enjoyed the duck, but again, the portions were disappointing. $230 later, we ended up going through a drive through because we were still hungry. Unlikely we'd return after such an expensive meal left us so unsatisfied.
