    Pad Thai

Nestled on Commercial Avenue, this cozy Thai gem shines like summer fireflies in a mason jar--warm, soulful, and just the right kind of bright. We are visiting from Alabama and loved the flavor-packed dishes and easy-going vibe. The pad Thai was the best we've ever had--tender rice noodles tossed in a sweet-savory-just-hot-enough sauce, crowned with crushed peanuts and green onions. The balance? A perfect waltz on your taste buds. I had the beef salad, and it was a harmony of grilled beef, zesty lime dressing, red onion, and cilantro. I also had some coconut soup that was delicious. We had larb for an appetizer--and it was a charming marriage of minced chicken, fragrant herbs, lime, and a whisper of chili. The service was friendly, upbeat, and always ready with a recommendation.

Dessert Fried Banana with Ice Cream (it has coconut, banana, & black sesame seeds inside) so goood

The service was very good the waiter was so attentive and nice. The food was served quick and the seating was comforting and peaceful.

    Pumpkin Curry (veggie)

Note they are currently closed on Sundays. This may be a seasonal thing, or it may be permanent. I've had several meals here recently, and enjoyed them all. I had a Pumpkin Curry (vegetable only, brown rice sub'd for white). I ordered it spicy (just below Thai Spicy), and it was indeed spicy (perfect for me). It had a lot of pumpkin pieces, along with some other veggies, and the sauce was enjoyably flavorful. My husband had the Pad Kee Mao, with veggies and steamed tofu (instead of fried). The noodles were suitably wide, chewy, and delicious. Veggies were pretty decent, though the broccoli was a bit overcooked. There were also pieces of carrot, bell pepper, onion, and a tomato or two. He had his usual complaint of wishing for more veggies, but overall he was quite pleased. He had a spice level of Medium, which was hot enough to give it a kick, but not too hot for him to eat. For dinner, I had Som Tum (what many places call Papaya salad). I ordered it hot. It came with the same or very similar ingredients to Papaya salad, and was very well made. Having it hot gave it a different taste from the normally mild spice level of Papaya salad. I quite enjoyed it (so much so, that I had it again the next night). My husband had Pra Ram, with brown rice and steamed Tofu. He said he liked it a lot, as it wasn't sickly sweet as some make Thai peanut sauce. It also wasn't too thick, nor too thin. The veggies seemed similar to what he had with his lunchtime Pad Kee Mao, but this time the broccoli was cooked perfectly to his liking. Prices are extremely reasonable, and service is friendly. My favorite Thai food in Anacortes.

Prices were pretty good for this inflation laden world... But the food didn't quite meet the "best Thai in town" bar. Spicy had almost no hint of spice (it could be that they are catering mostly to a clientele that prefers that), but they happily brought out more chilis. The "hot pot" that soups came in looked cool, but because they didn't use the burner, it cooled the soup too quickly, I would suggest sticking to the bowl size for eating in. Dining room was a bit chilly too even though they brought out a space heater. Curries were watery very little veggies. Probably they do the stir fried and noodle dishes better? Not my first choice restaurant in town, if this is the best Thai in town I recommend folks to pay a visit to Seattle sometime.

    Thai iced tea

Ambiance is nice, covered outdoor seating is very nice on a sunny day. Staff is very friendly and water is very cold. Thai ice tea priced at 3 dollars was outstanding. Panang curry with beef at 12 dollars was the best I've ever had for the price. Would recommend to anyone looking for great Thai cuisine in Anacortes, Washington.

New take on Thai beer. Tom Yum and Tom Kha.

I'm a little bit disappointed. I walked into Tin House to get some food to go, and I was expecting something different, since their subtitle is "Thai Street Food." I was hoping for little dishes you could eat in the go. Instead, it turned out to be a pretty standard Thai restaurant menu. The staff were friendly and helpful, although I realized later that I wasn't asked how spicy I wanted the food. On the plus side, they have Tod-Mun (fish cakes) on the appetizer menu. The place looks really nice in a rustic way, and they have great outdoor seating. They also had a very interesting alcohol assortment, including organic and native owned vineyards, as well as Tom Yum and Tom Kha beer in addition to the normal Thai beers. I will have to try that next time.

I work at Tin House. Love it there. Food is awesome come by and see us. We have something for everyone.

I saw they had BBQ, and the reviews seemed to rave about it, so we flung a U-ie and came here. IM SO GLAD WE DID. You walk in and order your food at the counter, then head next door (still inside the same building) to grab your beer. Tons of seating both inside and out. **St Louis ribs are only sold on Saturdays** FYI We got a flight of ciders and beers, and for food we got BBQ nachos, ribs, and I think my husband got a burger. My husband said his burger was good, BUT THESE RIBS, YALL. They stole the show. They were honestly the best ribs I've EVER had! So tender, and the dry rub was amazing. I highly suggest getting them dry and getting the BBQ sauce on the side. That way you can taste how good they really are before being drenched in their delicious BBQ sauce. As for the beers, I wanted to give a shout out to their Coconut Stout. I've had many coconut stouts that I want to be good, and they all fall flat. But this has been my favorite coconut stout of all time! You could taste the full flavor profile of the toasted coconut! It was incredible! I give this place a 10/10! We will definitely be back!!

Their burgers are awesome, the tater tots are creative and delicious. I tried the steak tacos the recently and they were very tasty, although the tortillas were slightly over toasted, resulting in a bit more crunch than you'd expect. Service is usually good. The bartenders handle table service, so you could end up with more than one person waiting on you rather than having a dedicated server. We headed over for dinner to celebrate a special occasion, and we were glad we'd made a reservation because the place was packed! The ambiance here is dark and elegant - not something I necessarily expect in Anacortes, but it set the perfect tone for a special evening. Our server, Aimee, who I knew from local Yelp events years ago, was absolutely fantastic. She knew everything on the menu, and by the time she described everything we asked about, we had trouble not ordering it all. But first, we started with a bottle of perfectly chilled sauv blanc while we perused the menu. I was impressed by the varied selection of food. They have everything from burgers to ribeye, and all very fairly priced. We started with an order of calamari, perfectly fried and served with a citrussy, aioli-style sauce. For dinner, Dude loved their fish 'n chips while I devoured a plate of fresh king salmon served atop crispy risotto and the most amazing pesto lemon cream sauce. After we enjoyed sharing a dish of tasty creme brulee, Aimee shared that they serve brunch here too! I had no idea, but looking at the menu and hearing that they serve mimosas, we'll definitely be back. We also got a mini tour of their adorable speakeasy style bar and huge in-progress beer garden too. I'm definitely keeping Tasha Lee's on my Anacortes rotation!
