"I Know the Owner Coconut Stout"
Cally K.

This is an underrated brewery for sure, and a great find should you come across it! It's kinda out of the way and not near much of anything, and I see why it's easy to pass up in passing. I was here for a work trip in April and passed by this establishment several times before we decided to check it out, lol our loss. I unfortunately stumbled across this establishment during our very last night in the city, and what a true bummer for sure. My colleague tried their wings, which was so good that they got a second order. I tried their BOMB Smoked Brisket Dip Sandwich with a beer flight (lol cause my indecisive self wanted to try it all). Of the flight I was sold on the "I Know the Owner Coconut Stout" beer. Lawd, lol what a treat! So bomb that I asked for it in a growler to take back with me to San Diego (as seen in the picture) . The staff wasn't sure it would make it back to SD as I requested lots of tape to secure around the top to put into my checked bag, but guess what Team?! It made it!! And was as deliciously enjoyed as my two pints from the bar the night before I left. Thank you guys for the assist with my crazy request, but now know that you guys can now market to your short term visitors . The staff was nice and helpful, and the food was really good, the beers... epic! Definitely would recommend, and definitely will be back when I'm back in town!! A must try, must visit!

Amazing beer variety! Took home a delicious coconut stout! 10/10 recommend! All of the staff were so friendly and inviting! Kid friendly and my nephew enjoyed coloring and watching line dancing!! Can't wait to come back.

Amazing food and drinks, they had a decent amount of vegetarian options including a tasty veggie Mac and cheese. Also had the veggie burger and pretzel with cheesy dip. All super delicious and friendly staff. Only small complaint would be a more than ordinary wait for the good; we waited about 25 min. Good portion size

Fun brewery across the street from Swinomish golf course, which makes for a quick commute after building up a thirst on the course. We enjoyed the beer, some brisket tacos and sndwiches. Enjoyable place with good service. I'd go again when in the area.

We decided to get some food to go on our way to Whidbey Island. I have had good stuff from Bastion. This time not so much. I ordered the Brisket Dip. The Mrs ordered the southwest bowl with smoked chicken. My sandwich was terrible. I didn't even finish the first half. The brisket slices had so much fat it was hanging out the side of the bread. Biting into it was like biting into chewy rubber. They didn't trim anything. I know that can be time consuming but serving slices riddled in fat is a non starter for me. I know brisket is a fatty cut and I have experience cooking them. Paying $17 plus an up charge for cheese and mushrooms is a rip off if the meat is so fatty it is inedible. With a to go order one would think they would include some disposable utensils and napkins...negative Ghostrider. We had to turn around and go back for them. Big miss for Bastion on this visit. They can do better and have in the past. It'll be awhile before I go back.

Worth stopping in! We went to Anacortes for whale watching, and of course were starving when we were done, cause it's SUCH hard work trying to spot whales, so we stopped. Very convenient location, with some outdoor seating options. We had a large group and ordered lots of different menu options. Word to the wise: the Poutine with brisket is absolutely huge! Loaded with gravy & brisket. If ordered as an appetizer, could have feed a half dozen folks, and then some!! The salads were fresh, and protein was plentiful. Hubs had the burger, and it was filling and delish!

So glad we stopped at this place before jumping on the ferry at Anacortes. It looks a little dank from the outside given that it's behind a gas station so don't be afraid. Once we got inside - it was open, tons of space - one side you order food and then find a seat inside or outside (that is preferred given the views) and on the other side is the brewery where you can get awesome flights. Plenty of room for big groups as well. We got there as they opened so no burnt ends ready as they had just started BBQing for the day. The onion rings were AMAZING! I try them everywhere I got and typically nothing stands out, but these were delicious and onpoint - light batter and yummy dipping choices including gravy for your rings or fries. The burger was very good too and the only thing I would have folks steer away from is the Banh Mi. #1 I should have known not to get that here - this is a BBQ place not an Asian place. The veggies weren't pickled and honestly the chicken had zero flavor. All in all still rating this place 4 stars since it has good options for beers (tried 3 IPA - and all decent, not fantastic, but good enough), great scenery, and ok food. Will try the BBQ next time we are back in the area.

They have a great assortment of home brewed beers. The food is good with lots of choices. Big enough place to have large crowds.

This has…read morealways been one of my fave beer festivals, with its cool indoor pier setting, live music, and generally being a pretty darned thorough fest in a semi small town. Things have definitely changed, though, since I last attended in 2019. Most noticeable was that there were far fewer breweries and cideries in attendance. In its heyday, BOTP had a whole separate section just for cider. Now, the cider vendors were sprinkled amongst the breweries, making it even more apparent that some of the PNW brewery stalwarts were not in attendance. Kulshan, Stemma, Boundary Bay, North Sound, Wander, Aslan, and many of the great Seattle-area breweries were nowhere to be seen. Shoutout, though, to local greats from Farmstrong to Georgetown for being there. Just wish there were more! The music was great - the Naughty Blokes were pretty entertaining, although I must confess I kinda missed the old polka band that used to play the festival. Gone, too, was the costume contest (though I still saw a few dudes in leiderhosen making the rounds). Perhaps most disappointing were the food trucks. There were three meal-oriented trucks and one serving kettle corn. The prices were OUTRAGEOUS though. We paid $17 for four street-sized tacos at the Mexican Food truck! Hopefully 2022 is just a transition year for BOTP, and they'll be back in full glory next year.

There is a booth to buy additional tasting tickets. Also at that booth, though they were not advertising them, you could buy a string of mini-pretzels for $2. Nice to have something to munch on as you walked around. Also they had food trucks where you could buy dinner, and free bottles water. The venue is an old warehouse type of building on a commercial wharf. It had a fun vibe to it. Definitely bring a warmer layer if there is any wind or rain forecast. One downside was that the band was very loud and it was difficult to have a conversation inside the building.

Features a full bar with cocktails and a great beer selection. Ambiance is fantastic, with dark wood and interesting lighting and decorations. I'll be honest - it smells like dirty bar from time to time, so I'd say cleaning could be improved. The menu has something for everyone. Their burgers are awesome, the tater tots are creative and delicious. I tried the steak tacos the recently and they were very tasty, although the tortillas were slightly over toasted, resulting in a bit more crunch than you'd expect. Service is usually good. The bartenders handle table service, so you could end up with more than one person waiting on you rather than having a dedicated server. This can result in slower service times when it's busy, but that's the nature of the beast.

There are no signs that said "please wait to be seated" or "seat yourself" either, but after waiting a bit we thought we'd seat ourselves and the service would come to us. That never happened, so this feels like we were being ignored. It's unfortunate though, because it seemed like a chill place to grab some food. But this isn't how you run a business because after waiting around for 15 mins we left. Probably won't be stopping by again.

With their home made three day rise crust and cheese from the local cows!? Like how fresh and fabulous could it get! I also tried out their arugula salad and it was scrumptious. Perfect bite and finally a place with even dressing distribution! The perfect salad to pile on top of a slice of pizza. Don't knock it till you try it. ;) Make sure to try some of their home made root beer when you get there! Definitely a place worth stopping by.

I'm not sure this pizza worked as well as I'd imagine- the crust was pretty burnt in places, and quite chewy. My friend who loves making pizzas suspected the dough was over worked. The dates were rough chopped into large pieces, so bites alternates between really bitter arugula, and then extremely sweet and chewy dates. Chopping the dates finer and maybe doing a quick seasoning/oil rub on the arugula would've helped. Overall, it lacks balanced flavor, it didn't quite meld well together. The pizzas aren't that big, and are pretty pricey for the result. - For the veg/vegans: There's around 3 options- cheese, margarita, and the first date pizza (arugula, apple, dates). Thankfully vegan Daiya mozzarella is an option! Although I did miss the more nuanced flavors Miyoko has.

They're located close to the Burlington airport; look for the wooden chair with a "beer here" sign. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 1:30pm). They've got a cute patio outside along with two communal style tables and bar seats inside. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Go up to the bar to order your drinks. The beers consisted of 9 Garden Path flavours, two meads and several guest beers/ciders/wines. They don't do flights, which is disappointing and none of their fruit flavoured beers were available to sample. They have a MASSIVE variety of rare, unique beers along with some interesting cider and wines. Beer bottles from Jester King, Atwood Ales, The Ale Apothecary and Crooked Stave, to name a few. From Canada, they even had two bottles from Dieu du Ciel. Majority are from the States but they had some beers from Australia, Estonia and Europe (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy). They also have a couple board games and funny enough, they had these mystery/surprise beer bags for sale. Not sure how much they were though. - The easygoing drink ($3.00 US for 5oz) - lightly tart ale fermented in a foudre and finished in stainless steel. This was our favourite from the three we sampled. - Amber dreams of electric sheep ($3.00 US for 5oz) - foudre-fermented, oak matured, malt-accented and native yeast amber ale. Definitely was malty. - The prime barrel age ($3.50 US for 5oz) - blend of mature barrel-aged beers. This one didn't leave much of an impression on either one of us. Garden Path's beers are different, catering more to funky than sour. If you're a beer geek, this should be a must visit. 3.5 stars.
