One of my favorite brew pubs, their NW IPA is a keeper that I routinely run back to. Love the variety of beers on tap. This place is always busy, they have outdoor seating in the back that's nice to take advantage of on a sunny warm day. The food is so so, sometimes a hit sometimes just ok. Brewpub in the main business area of La Conner, next to the Museum of Northwest Art. Dropped in for lunch on a weekday and and there were some customers. Warm wooden decor, mid-sized seating area. They also have some picnic tables outdoors for those with pets. I started with their raspberry wheat beer. Pleasant wheat beer with a hint of fruity flavor, although hard to tell if it's raspberry specifically. For food, I got the bison burger with fries. Their fries have this interesting curly thick strip cut. First time I've seen fries cut like this, and they tasted pretty good. As for the burger itself, the bun was a bit dry on the inside. They have a sweet jam/sauce on top of the patty which was decent. They don't ask how well the patty should be cooked, and what I got was closer to well done (no pink), but the patty was still moist and not overcooked. Standard sized pub burger. If you don't mind the potential wait, this place has amazing food! I have celiac disease so finding good gluten free options is tough. The waitress took our drink orders and then came back for our food orders. We ordered a few of their different beers and they were tasty! She asked if we had heard about the special which was halibut fish tacos. She really talked them up so 3 of us got the tacos, while my husband got the burger and my daughter got the kids pizza. I like to try a bit of everything so opted for the soup and salad plus the clams. The clam Chowder was a little runny for my taste. But the sale was good and fresh with a variety of goodies. The focaccia bread was pretty crunchy almost too much so like it was old. The clams were different, at first I wasn't sure if I enjoyed them. They're Thai inspired with coconut milk. This was our first stop after arriving into LaConner. We were eager to try the local beer and they didn't disappoint. My husband had the light ale while I had the Brown. I don't know how to describe beer, but can tell you the Brown was very nice and not hoppy. We ordered the mushroom pizza (no cheese) with the special, Spinach Salad. Imagine that. The vibe is of a brewery restaurant that invokes fun energy. As I sat at the bar and watched the two servers taking care of the entire restaurant I was impressed. Great spot to check out in La Conner. Enjoyed the Brewery Tacos with really tasty brown ale braised pulled pork for takeout dinner. I ordered a side of guac to enjoy with them as well. I enjoyed my visit! I visited once before and I remember the food was good. This visit was just drinks. I enjoyed a blackberry cider from Elemental which was delightful. We sat on the outside deck in the back. It was nice because it was mostly sheltered from the wind and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Great place to eat in La Conner! I had the chicken brie burger with a Caesar salad and a few Locust Juicy Peach ciders, everything tasted amazing. The burger looked a little small, but my eyes are bigger than my stomach so by the time I finished my meal I was perfectly full, not overstuffed. Another highly recommended stop in La Conner, is the brewery, located right in the middle of downtown. After a very filling lunch, I decided to stop in to sample a few of their beers. Definitely a popular place in town, the food menu looks yummy and they have quite a selection of house brews, as well as Ciders, Seltzers, and wines. I started with the Salish hazy, which was very tasty, but being a bit of a hazy aficionado... it wasn't hazy. Still a good IPA though. Also tried the brown ale nitro, Yum! I can see why this one is very popular. Creamy and malty, and great during the cooler months of the year. The staff was friendly and on top of making sure no glass was empty. We stopped by here 5 years ago, and decided to return earlier today. The wait time for regular seating would have been 30 minutes BUT a couple people left the bar right before the server checked us in so we went to the bar pretty much as soon as we got there! The bartenders really take their time pouring drinks, and I take note of that because I've seen some rush in the past. My only mini complaint is that I saw our food under the heating lamp for like 10 minutes BUT it was pretty busy and the food still tastes really good even with that wait. No stars lost just making note. The bison burger surprised me it had a cheese and balsamic sauce blend that was delicious. The drinks were delicious. We got a brown ale, a nitro which tastes like a mild IPA and a vanilla cider. The vanilla cider won, so we grabbed a growler ($10 for the growler and $20 for the drink or something like that. Every time I think I should give this place a chance, I regret it. We just popped in to get a bite and a beer and to watch Thursday night football. The tv was on at the bar, but off in the dining room. We asked our server if they were playing the game to which she responded that the tv in the dining room lagged.. then she said she would get to it when she had time, but that she was too busy right now. I don't know why this woman is always so grumpy or why fate would consistently brings us here when she's on shift. Management should know that she is such a turnoff. The team at the La Conner Brewing Company is usually most impressive. It's been about 3 months since we were here last. The wait staff was fast, efficient, as usual. They were ready to handle any rush during the football games. The pizzas looked good at first, but then we noticed that the bottom of the pizzas were black.... not from being burned, but from the carbon build up from the pizza oven. Next time, they should clean the surface of the pizza oven before making the pizzas. The carbon gives the pizzas a bad flavor. Also, most everyone in our group had stomach aches later in the evening. The one common denominator was the pizza. Hopefully things will be better next time around. read more

A weekend away brought us to this lovely place for dinner. We both had the clam chowder and salad combo, one Cesar and one mixed greens. My mixed greens salad was great, though there could have been a bit more dressing and a bit less cabbage. We both agreed that the clam chowder was great and we are from the Bay Area in California, where Clam chowder is prevalent and Yummy! This was just the right amount of thickness and flavor. I like lighter IBU beers and the Raspberry wheat didn't disappoint. We liked it so much we came back the next night for a bowl of chowder to go with our leftover lunch. The To go portion was a bit hard to swallow for the price, I feel as if we got more in restaurant. Either way, we'll be back again for sure! read more

Ughhh we had a very subpar experience. The place is cute but we brought our pup and it was quite chilly. We were seated immediately but they failed to mention that their kitchen was running ONE HOUR BEHIND. I checked on our meal after 30m and was then informed this but at this time we were too committed. The food was ok, nothing special but pretty solid. I got the nachos, pub fries for the table and a burger for hubby. As it was coming out the waiter dropped the guacamole on the floor I ordered...and then their guacamole blender wasn't working (or so they claimed although it was late). I ordered a flight to determine which to fill my growler and was surprised to find how bitter all of the beers I tasted were. I cannot really recommend a beer out of the ones I tried because of how bitter they were, but the good and atmosphere were very good. We did have a good time watching the game while we waited at our reservation at another restaurant. I am excited to come back and try some of the food from their wood fire oven another time, but their fries with jalapeno ketchup were well worth the visit. A fun place to hang over all. read more

Wood fired pizza is the best pizza around. The service is always great. Nice list of micro brew beers and hard ciders. The back outside patio is always a fun spot. The only bummer is that they no longer cook their chicken wings in the pizza oven ( they were to die for !! ) they now deep fry them. We would go over there just to get the chicken wings. I wanted to go here to get an order for take out and have a beer or two. I walked in and the bartender told me I could not come in because of my service dog but that I could sit outside. My service dog was behaving properly and to be told I'm not allowed in but could sit outside is not only illegal but also completely disrespectful in my opinion. This review is five stars largely because of the outstanding, friendly, and personable service we received from our server, whose name I really regret not writing down. From the get-go, she was an absolute delight, with a strong sense of humor, a Chamber of Commerce-person's flair for publicizing the local attractions, and a personality that made us want to stay longer just to shoot the breeze with her. Our meals were tasty; I opted for the clam chowder and salad - nice homemade taste, not overly thick like many chowders, and packed with flavor. The beer selection was, as usual, heavy on the IPAs, but the lighter wheat ale I ordered was pleasant with my meal, if unremarkable. (Our waitress thought that the 10 ounce glasses they served smaller beers in were "cute" - and so they were!) My friend enjoyed a glass of Acrobat Pino Gris, an Oregon wine that was truly lovely, and before we left our server gave us a small stack of brochures publicizing upcoming events and festivals. When traveling, I love to find local brew pubs for both the beer and the friendly home town atmosphere. La Conner Brewing makes tasty beer, serves a nice lunch and, when it comes to staffing, clearly knows who to hire so as to keep the customers coming back. We'll be back for sure to catch up and, this time, probably stay awhile longer just to chat. This place is very quaint and clean. Atmosphere is very comfortable. They have a covered outdoor area as well. I ordered the Brie appetizer and the salad with shrimp for dinner.
