We love the fish and chips..look forward to a bowl of hot clam chowder in the winter.

Typical pub food. Inexpensive. Service was friendly and attentive. Dive bar but on the water so that ups it. Fun to stop in and have a drink while shopping downtown LaConner.

La Conner is one of Washington's nicest destination locations. We met our relatives here and decided on the P and E. It seems to be a nice locals jaunt. As one who enjoys seafood, I opted for the Captains platter which includes pretty much everything the crawls, swims or is dug up from the ocean floor. Sans crab, which is a bummer since this area has a lot of crabbing locally. I started with a cup of clam chowder which I did find very tasty. The platter is almost all breaded and Fried food. The fish was good but as I worked my way through the oysters, clams, etc, my tastebuds were not that excited anymore. I did opt for the baked potato which is hard to ruin. It was good. The ambience is nice overlooking the waterway that connects to Anacortes bay. The wait staff is also nice. I would sum this place up as a good chowder and fish n chips locale. I wouldn't go much beyond that. Probably wouldn't return. Not because it was that bad, just because there are other places I'd like to try next time.

Hubby and I took a little day trip to La Conner and found this cute pub for lunch. Sadly the outdoor seating area was already full but we still had a decent view from inside. We split the patty melt with added grilled mushrooms. Very tasty but huge pet peeve with patty melts is when they use a round patty on square bread. There isn't enough meat. Should make special square pattys. The club sandwich was very good. Lightly toasted sourdough with excellent smoky bacon. Bothe trying to be healthy we got nice fresh salads instead of fries. Was tempted to try a cup of chowder. Will have to go back to try it and other menu items. Hard working staff kept everyone happy.

Comfort food on the waterfront. Rolled into La Conner late on a Saturday and most restaurants had already closed for the evening. Luckily the La Conner Tavern was still open! I sat on their back patio overlooking the water and ordered the patty melt (1/3 lb burger on rye with sauerkraut, white cheddar and mayonnaise) with fries and a glass of their Cabernet Sauvignon. The food was delicious, well portioned and surprisingly affordable for a tourist town (~$20 for an entree + glass of wine). I enjoyed the casual ambience and views of sunset. Also, the fries were amazing.

Recommended by locals and proudly aware of their "Best Fish & Chips" Award, the family and I gambled and ate at this pub, which gave off the vibe that we were eating in a 70s double-wide trailer in the backwoods that had a generator that was struggling to keep it lit. The place felt so dark inside. The outdoor seating was filled. This is a disappointment for anyone who eats in La Conner. La Conner's restaurant's best chance at success is to put the patrons outside "on the water." The food was okay. It was typical "tavern" food. No one in my party awarded him/herself with the Best Fish & Chips. Rather the nachos, popcorn shrimp, popcorn clams, and a burger made it onto our round table. No one complained. But, when considering the other choices to eat in LaConner, I would recommend going elsewhere, even if darkened "pub grub" with wood panel wall siding speaks to you. The Waterfront Bistro is the best of the lot for food and outside dining. If that rustic "tavern" feel is for you, the Brewing Company is where I recommend you go and try--even though it isn't a true "gastro," especially by its menu.

This guy recommended you and he's a local and an avid fisherman so hey! Good source.

Great location, great chowder and fish and chips, and the service was superb. I went with a guy who fishes halibut in Alaska. His recommendation carries a bit of weight and he did not lead me astray. I'll be back. Maybe for a Seahawks game. And to try that Bacon Cheeseburger!

    The view.

Awesome service and food. This place is right on the water and has a view of all the fishing boats and some nice homes in front and across the water. Very cool area to go walk around and take in the sites. I had the captain's platter and it was amazing the oysters were fresh and very big. There were four adults a toddler and a baby in our party and the waitress was very helpful and got all our orders and adjustments correct right off the bat, she also never let our drinks get empty and was so friendly (great job). Great experience and great food! Travis

For starters, we ordered the artisan bread, a dozen oysters, and the beet salad. As someone who bakes and sells my own artisan sourdough, I was underwhelmed by the bread. I liked the touch of truffle they add to it but it needed salt. And it also needed to be on the table well before the 35 minutes we waited for it. The oysters were also not very memorable. I can't remember what one of the varieties was, but they were brinier than I care for but that's just a personal preference. The kumamotos were the TINIEST oysters I've ever seen. I've eaten my share of kumamotos and I know Japanese oysters are generally smaller and sweeter than other varieties (which is why they're my favorite) , but I'm not exaggerating when I say they were the size of quarter. I also didn't like the frozen mignonette they served as an accoutrement. It didn't seem frozen--it spread like jam. It didn't really taste like vinegar or shallot like mignonette should. It was just not very good. The beet salad was EXCELLENT. The chèvre was generous, the bitter micro greens tasted great with the beets and chèvre. It was well seasoned. We devoured it. For entrees, I had the dayboat scallops and my husband had the duck leg. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the leek risotto was very tasty. I'm not really sure what I was supposed to do with the pickled lemon on my plate. I tried to eat a small piece with the other elements and it was so overpowering that I left the rest on my plate. Now let's talk about the protein--my $52 scallop dish came with THREE scallops. Not even whole scallops as I'm pretty sure they were cut in half to cook more evenly. Three small 1/2 scallops and two cubes of pork belly. For Fifty-two dollars. My husband enjoyed the duck, but again, the portions were disappointing. $230 later, we ended up going through a drive through because we were still hungry. Unlikely we'd return after such an expensive meal left us so unsatisfied.

They have a great, inexpensive and unpretentious wine list with plenty by the glass. We split a glass of rose and it was lovely! The food was just okay. They bragged about having large portions but our $18 cheese plate was a small snack for sure. It also said it came with fruit and chocolate and they only brought out the cheese, crackers, and nuts. Not sure if they were out, we didn't have enough time to talk to our server to figure this out. The servers were all in a huge hurry and missed a lot. I know they were busy and don't completely blame them, but it was definitely amiss. They asked if we wanted more wine and we said no, so they cleared our food quickly even though we were still eating. They also put a reserved sign on our table while we were still there (we only stayed maybe 25-30 min) and told us that someone else wanted our table. It was kind of rude and we felt super rushed by the servers. We really felt like we were being hurried out and didn't get the full experience. They also took our water glasses and dumped them on the ground next to us while we were still sitting and before we were done. They could not have been more blatant about wanting us to go even though we weren't there long. I would probably revisit on a slower day to see if things improved, but the service wasn't great.

I saw they had BBQ, and the reviews seemed to rave about it, so we flung a U-ie and came here. IM SO GLAD WE DID. You walk in and order your food at the counter, then head next door (still inside the same building) to grab your beer. Tons of seating both inside and out. **St Louis ribs are only sold on Saturdays** FYI We got a flight of ciders and beers, and for food we got BBQ nachos, ribs, and I think my husband got a burger. My husband said his burger was good, BUT THESE RIBS, YALL. They stole the show. They were honestly the best ribs I've EVER had! So tender, and the dry rub was amazing. I highly suggest getting them dry and getting the BBQ sauce on the side. That way you can taste how good they really are before being drenched in their delicious BBQ sauce. As for the beers, I wanted to give a shout out to their Coconut Stout. I've had many coconut stouts that I want to be good, and they all fall flat. But this has been my favorite coconut stout of all time! You could taste the full flavor profile of the toasted coconut! It was incredible! I give this place a 10/10! We will definitely be back!!
