This was a wonderful surprise! Most helpful, congenial and efficient service. Very fresh tasting ingredients, great flavors. Set in a charming, rustic old building, the menu is surprisingly interesting. From burgers to ahi poke. We had edamome which were a bit messy to eat but had fantastic flavor. We both ordered the appetizer poke for our lunch. A beautiful plate of food, generous portion, and great flavors. I loved the house made "chili crisp" as an accent, as well as the pickled ginger. This is the second visit to Train Wreck and it did not improve on the first impression. I opted for the special which was a streak empanada, the filling was flavorful and had a substantial amount of steak but the crust which is my favorite part was so dry and tough I ended up just eating the filling. I was so hoping it would be better than the first time we went. Hubby had fish and chips, he said it was "ok" but we are not big fans of beer battered fish so he wouldn't order it again. The place is cute and the service was adequate. So many places that are fabulous here we won't be giving Train Wreck a third try. read more

Trainwreck is just one of those places that hits the spot when you're not even planning to stop. We pulled in on the way home because I was desperate for a Bloody Caesar, and I swear they make the best one I've ever had. Spicy, tangy, perfect rim, perfect garnish -- it just hit. We lucked out and got a table right by the TV showing the game, which immediately set the vibe. The staff was on it -- like a small army appeared out of nowhere the second we sat down. Napkins, menus, water -- bam. Everyone was so genuinely nice too, even threw me a few compliments on my shirt (which caught me totally off guard but hey, I'll take it). Hubby got the breakfast special -- a breakfast Cubano -- and said it was killer. I went for the Trainwreck waffle and holy hell, whoever decided to put bacon in the batter deserves a medal. Sweet, salty, fruity, buttery chaos in the best way. The owner/manager popped by more than once to check in, super friendly and chatty, just that kind of person who makes you feel like you've been regulars forever. Everything about the stop was just good energy -- delicious food, perfect drinks, spooky-but-cozy atmosphere, friendly people who seem to actually like being there. Total win. read more

As far as local legends go, the Train Wreck is right up there. I've been coming here for more than ten years, and have never been disappointed. And now that I live in the Valley, I'm there even more often. Lately, I've been going for dinner, since their legendary breakfast rush is no joke. Pro tip: if you're going for brekky, get there right (and I mean RIGHT) when their doors open in the morning. Because within 10 minutes after opening, they are full with a line out the door. Late lunch or dinner are a good bet for not having to wait long, if at all. And their non-breakfast food is just as good (if not better) than their morning offerings. I love their wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, and salads. On my last visit I tried their grilled cheese, which was served with homemade tomato soup and was delish. I'm also a fan of their fish 'n chips, and you can't go wrong with their ginormous, juicy burger. Want to swing out? There's always a tempting-sounding special on the board. (Most recently, I noticed on social media that they had a limited time lobster roll on the menu - I was so sad to miss it!) been coming to this restaurant on and off for the last several years. And I have to say that this is probably one of the better restaurants in the Burlington Cedral area. It's a real comfort food type of location. The staff have always been extremely nice whenever I was there with either myself or family members or friends. The food has always been . And it's kind of almost style interior and everything has always been just absolutely inviting. Far too many restaurants and stuff nowadays are dark and and cold and stuff like that and I don't mean through like temperature or lighting I mean in atmosphere. Go into a modern McDonald's or Jack-in-the-Box or certain other restaurants and everything is dark colors and hard edges and everything. It's very cold and very almost business like there's no/ima B/ /gin I/ there's no whimsy and all that stuff stuff. I miss the days when I could go into like say a restaurant and find unique styles of furniture and stuff for specific family members and things. This place has that. They literally have bench seating made out of tree trunks, and stuff. They can be a little uncomfortable, but overall they are by no means bad. Now the only thing that really marks the restaurant down is it exactly what I would call completely ADA friendly. I have a family member who is wheelchair bound. And the restaurant isn't really designed for individuals with wheelchairs. Now that being they do try to accommodate as best they can and every time that I've been there they have been able to do so. However, it would be nice if they had maybe some dedicated tables for disabled . That being said though again, the food has always been absolutely top-notch. The staff are always inviting and welcoming. And the overall atmosphere of the location is very relaxed. Sure every now and again get a train thundering by, but that's part of the charm of the location. It also sits well with the locomotive centric history of the area. Now I will point out the technically this location is not a family restaurant. At least not in the sense that you can bring children. I was so excited to try this place and it definitely did not disappoint. I loved the style of the restaurant and felt like I was in a train. The service was great and all the staff I interacted with were very sweet. Now, the food! The crab cakes were delicious, fresh, and the sauce was delectable. I poured it all over the crab cakes and it gave it such a mouthwatering flavor I cannot describe. With that slice of lemon it was simply a slice of heaven! The fish and chips were fantastic and sad we didn't get the 3 piece. The coating was perfect portioned and nice and crunchy but not overly done. The fries were incredibly crunchy and perfectly salted and truly I left wanting more. On to the red velvet cheesecake! Amazing and I wished I would have gotten 2 pieces. Popular local bar with over priced sandwiches for tourists. First. Locals in the front room. Tourists in the converted garage back room. Asked for front and was told we needed reservations or we could wait 15-30 minutes and maybe get a table. Rueben sandwich was good but very skimpy on the pastrami, particularly at $23. It does come with a tepid temperature cup of clam chowder and a very odd container of horse radish sauce which overpowered the flavor of the sandwich with one try. Maybe the horse radish on Reuben is a "local" thing. There was an interesting list of draft beers with "train" related names but I saw no brewing equipment on site. The lager was: ok. So, I sat down, checked the menu, and ordered the Smoke Pork sandwich and an Arnold Palmer drink. I was very impressed with the sandwich! It was overstuffed with delicious smoked pulled pork. The fries were not as crisp as I prefer, but still tasty. I couldn't eat all the fries, there were just too many! The wait staff was kind, attentive, and I didn't have to wait for anything. Long have I had the Train Wreck Bar on my list to try and after a pleasant walk at Northern Recreational Area we weren't too far from it to grab some lunch. I had the Korean Pork Tacos which were fantastic and so very flavorful with the Korean style slaw, red onions and Korean Aoli. Steve had a hamburger which looked very impressive and the other folks in our party looked like they had some good looking meals as well. They had a nice selection of beers on tap and Steve and I shared one which was very good! Recommended by a pretty cool guy we met at a remote hot springs. Told us we NEED to visit here.
