What a great little dinner in the middle of nowhere. Seating inside or outside under the tall trees. We ordered the Onion Rings, arrived hot and non-greasy, no heavy breading. So much we brought some home. Shared the bbq pulled pork sandwich with cold slaw on top, again excellent food. Glad we shared, plenty of food. For dessert we shared a 20 oz homemade hard ice cream Blackberry milkshake. So thick we used spoons ! The young server was open & very friendly. Took our order without notes and got it right! read more

We stopped in at Birdsview Diner after a beautiful hike to Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm. So glad we passed on the restaurants in Marblebmont. I had one of the delicious, large, mushroom burgers that came with a very nice cheesy, homemade chicken soup. The soup was really good too. The service was amazing and the server was very friendly, welcoming and sweet. The burger had plenty of veggies and mushrooms. I liked the burger and it wasn't greasy at all. The hamburger they use was really good. This will be our go to restaurant when we at hiking near highway 20. It is very close to Baker River Road. Plenty of parking and the diner is on highway 20 west of Concrete. Best place for hikers to eat on highway 20. The cook came by and let us taste some sweet bread she made. It was delicious too. I think they plan to be open for breakfast too. read more

We love the food here as there are plenty of choices and they are prepared very well. The prices seem a bit high for the location and experience though. I absolutely love the outdoor seating area as it is nestled among the pine trees and there are lots of seating options and some games you can play while waiting for your food. Beautiful surroundings. What most people come here for are the yummy large burgers and fries and shakes, etc. Although in their menu the offer sandwiches, wraps and salads too. Everyone I saw while there had burgers on their trays. The appetizers are also very yummy. We shared the garlic cheese curds to start and they were very tasty and served hot. Among our group of 5 people we tried a variety of the burger options including Jalapeno Burger, Grilled Onion Burger. I substituted the sweet tempura brussels sprouts for fries and another did onion rings. The rest of us had the delicious fries. The burgers were very big and difficult to finish for several of us so we took a lot of it home. While here we also ordered the special "Doggy Burger" for our dog. This is a basic cooked hamburger which we chopped up for the dog. And I also ordered a slice of the white chocolate raspberry dessert that the worker said was fresh out of the oven. That had to come home for a later day as we were stuffed. Great tasting food here! I'll be back. read more

On my way to NCNP, I decided to try Birdsview Diner in the booming metropolis of Concrete, WA. The Tarheel Burger is something I have never experienced. Against my better judgement, I went with this double-meat monstrosity! It was delicious, and the fries were piping hot. I actually took some home and brought them back to life in the air fryer. Great service, I will be back on a future road trip. read more

For what it's worth, where do you find juicy, fresh and yum burgers when you are in North Cascades? Birdsview Diner gives you everything- views, chill outdoor and indoor place, peaceful, and convenient location. We stayed at KOA which is right opposite to this place and enjoyed our dinner. Lot of options to choose, it takes 10-15 minutes to decide lol. Stop by if you are visiting Cascades, trust me! :) read more

So this is a weird one for me, this adorable little diner is located in Concrete, WA a tiny little town with very little food options. They have an amazing outdoor space, definitely a spot to bring friends and hang out. They have beer and ice cream, which are huge wins for me, and the people were incredibly nice. The food however was just ok. The burger was simple, nothing special, but fine. The garlic Parmesan fries had a delicious sauce on it, but some of the fries were hard from still being raw and some were perfect. The service was slow but they were busy, and their systems were struggling that day. Ultimately, I would give 3 stars for the food we had, but 5 stars in ambience and coolness. Perhaps though other food would have been better? Also my husband split a burger and an order of these fries and it was plenty! read more

I'm posting this review based on 4 people with 4 different dishes, the Piggy Back, the Pulled Pork, the Fried Prawns and the Bird. The Piggy Back: diner said the cheese on the outside made it a bit weird. The pork was ok and the Mac n cheese got lost in the pork. Fries were good. The Pulled Pork: diner said it was ok but seemed like it had been cooking all day, not in a good way. Also disappointed that the photo on the menu showed it on a Kaiser roll and was served bun. She liked the fries. The Prawns: diner said they tasted very frozen. They were fair. The coleslaw was not tasty. The Bird. This was my dish. I found it very good. All the flavors came out. Nothing was lost. Beef patty sausage patty, over easy egg LTO... delicious bun. French fries were very good. All diners felt the service was very good to excellent. Ambiance was very cute and homey. So tough to give you an answer... I'd eat here again for sure. One diner possibly. 2 were a no go. read more

Love hamburgers but Rubin grilled sandwiche was the worst nasty they charge too much for a gross sandwich!!!!

It's astonishing that Concrete has so many great restaurants for such a small town but it's the location on the North Cascades Highway 20 that is the reason for it. Birdsview Diner is one of those great restaurants with a few tables inside and a large outside dining area with lots of tables and some games. The fish and chips were good and the fish itself was tasty, not a large piece of fish but better to have quality over quantity. Also had the patty melt, which is a 2/3 lbs patty with grilled onions and Thousand Island on grilled marbled rye bread. The sandwich didn't have cheese and I would definitely add cheese next time. However, it still was flavorful and a pretty large sandwich. Service was nice and the place was fairly busy, even with that, it didn't take too long to get our food. read more

I want to caveat this by saying I've only been here once. The burger and fries were...ok. The place is a really cool place to bring friends for eating and drinking. Pretty cool place to hang out with games for young and older "kids". We had the pulled pork sandwich which was good, maybe a bit small on the burger buns but it came with a good amount of fried. The chicken sandwich on the other hand was bigger and also came with fries. The fries we supper crunchy, I believe they fry them in batter. There are tables and metal stools outside which are tall and uncomfortable to seat on, but we ate pretty quickly and played some of the games so that's a big plus. At last you order and pay at the door and you're given a buzzer. It's pretty self served from that point on. read more

Get the CFS dipper for breakfast on the weekend. Not on the menu. It's awesome and feeds two easily!

This place is perfect for the hungry hiker/campers. No frills, laid back, friendly service with great food and large portions. Awesome milk shakes. And if you don't feel like eating in you can also order at the to go window or pull up to the side for the "drive thru" and watch the friendly lumber jack looking man cook your food. Fantastic food. Had their Famous Mac and Cheese Bacon Burger with chipotle sauce, while the kids had a corn dog with fries. Fries were perfectly crispy without being burned. Burger was one of the best I have had. Very family friendly environment, had board games for the kids to play until the food arrived. Saw advertisements for music and dancing at night for the adults. Birdsview Diner is a common stop for those coming down from hikes or summits at Mt. Baker - when folks have a hankering calories. Calories after effort has been my and my group's reason for stopping. There's indoor and outdoor dining options - outdoors is quite spacious. The location can be windy, enough to blow your food and glass over. If you're looking for a healthy meal option, you may be disappointed. If you're tired of eating freeze dried meals, you'll run here. read more

My daughter and I recently took a spontaneous one night camping trip to Rasar State Park and part of the spontaneity was that I didn't bring any food. (If you've ever been camping with me before you know this has literally never happened in the history of my life.) After a sleepless night that involved me believing sleeping in a hammock would be luxurious (um, no, it wasn't) we awoke early and were MORE than glad to see that the nearby Birdsview Diner was open early too. We quickly packed up camp and arrived just after they opened. I slurped down a couple of hot cups of coffee while we perused the menu - both of us ordering biscuits & gravy, our family benchmark for good eats while on the road. Soon, our ginormous plates of B&G goodness had arrived. I was glad I got the half order because it was HUGE. I couldn't even finish it. My daughter tried to make a dent in her full order, but there was SO much. It was tasty, though. Tender house-made biscuits and a country-style sausage gravy. Nom nom nom. I wish we could have taken it to go. But let's face it, B&G just isn't the same a few hours later. The service was quick and friendly, and we were glad we'd arrived early because they were starting to fill up. Luckily they have a TON of outdoor seating so everyone found a place to sit. (I also made a mental note that this would be a kick ass place to come back for a beer on a warm summer evening. Yes, they have beer.) read more

Amazing food, people and Vibe. The blackberry burger is so good and highly recommend it.

Ordered bird burger, cod with slaw, kids corn dog, and bbq pork. Great place in the middle of nowhere. I was hungry coming in so maybe this review is a bit biased but that burger was fantastic. I haven't had a pulled bbq pork burger for a long time too and it really hit the spot. Cod was decent, fries and slaw were decent was well. No complaints about any of the food here. read more

Perfect place to eat after hanging out at Rasar state park. This diner is only 1.5 miles away and then only a hop, skip and a jump from the freeway. We chose this place because of the location and the outdoor seating option. We're all still staying out of public for the most part, plus we had two doggies with us. It was the perfect option. The outdoor seating is really cute and their is a little stage as well. That was fun for a random dance break! The restaurant itself is an "order at the window" type and the indoor seating is tiny so the outdoor area is a must. Most importantly- the food. Two of us got the grilled cheese and one got chicken strips, while the other got the mac and cheese burger. Everyone really enjoyed their food, and my sister got one of their champagne mixed drinks (it had a cute name but I forgot) with blackberry and it was sooo good! This is the ideal spot to stop before or after the park or if you're heading up further into the North Cascades. read more

Sweet little roadside diner. We had excellent onion rings and an amazing "onion" burger. It was truly memorable and we'll come back . Loved this diamond in the woods! Everything was top notch! We both ordered "The bird" burgers (featuring a perfectly cooked runny egg on top) which we agreed were delectable and came with side choices including fresh beer battered onion rings and thick cut steak fries that were hot and crispy. The garlic cheese curds were also really good. Don't sleep on the fry sauce! They also have an great outdoor area for live entertainment and a line up schedule. Service was terrible. Came in with a service animal and was told I had to sit outside in 40 degree very windy weather. Ended up ordering to go because it was so cold outside Menu had no options for people with eating restrictions that weren't a plain salad or deep fried fish. Really miss the old menu. Edit in response: the ADA states that while visible identification is helpful for business owners, it is not a legal retirement for service animals to have identification and there is infact no federal or state documentation or registration for service animals. The ADA does state that business owners are able to ask owners of service animals what task they are trained to perform but nothing beyond that.
