I love to support local businesses and when we found ourselves in the Birdsview area near Concrete, WA, we saw Birdsview Diner so I looked them up on the web and found out they are a father-daughter brewing business with food and music and have great reviews. We stopped by one night about an hour before they closed and I had a Lemon Shandy and burger. Wife had a burger and iced tea and daughter had a cider and pretzel knots and a green salad. The food was great. The burger was very good and the Lemon Shandy beer was super flavorful and, of course, lemony. We ate outside in the back under some shade and admired all the handmade gazebos, music stage and other knick knacks. Beautiful area for kicking back and getting some refreshments. There was no live music the night we stopped as it was a weekday and they seem to have the live music on Friday and Saturday nights. I'll be back one day when they have live music. Cons: going on a rafting trip, rafting company recommended this place. We were a bit nervous getting out of the car. Place in the middle of no where. They had just opened and we were the first customers. We weren't expecting too much based on the looks of the place. We were wrong. Pros: ordering was easy. Menu was very limited. Shared a burger. We've been sharing food this whole trip. Really cuts down on the over eating. When the burger arrived, we knew it would be good. Huge party, well seasoned. I asked for no cheese, but it still arrived with some. Turned out to cheddar which is usually low lactose. It didn't cause any trouble on our trip. I got a passion fruit hard seltzer. It was delicious! They don't have chips here, just bags of kettle chips. But the nice thing is they brought us two bags and a knife to cut our burger. So thoughtful and very nice. I appreciated. I first fell in love with Birdsview before I ever even visited. I found them at the Anacortes Bier on the Pier festival and they were pouring their ahhhmazing Cardiac Arrest stout. It was so good we ended up driving out to the brewery a few weeks later to have a pint of this delicious maltiness. Since then, I've made it a point to stop at Birdsview whenever I find myself traveling along the North Cascades Highway. The interior is small, so (during covid) all seating is outdoors. Luckily they have a spacious beer garden behind the main building. Their beers vary (they didn't have my beloved Cardiac Arrest on my most recent visit, so I settled for a cold Amber), and they do offer food which I've never tried. But it smelled good! Bonus points for their friendly service and taking covid precautions super seriously. The irreverent sign collection on the walls is worth checking out too! read more

I seem to drive by here frequently when out and about exploring and always admire how cute it looks from the outside. The shape of the building always catches my eye. I recently decided to attempt the Skagit Farm to Pint trail and ended up coming here twice (on my first visit I forget to get my passport ahead of time and sadly they had none available). This does seem to be the most out of the way location on the trail, but great for a nice drive and even better if you are out camping/hiking in the area. There always seems to be a ton of cars/bikes outside and on both of my visits the place was quite crowded. There's an inside area, but the out back area is quite spacious (with some covered areas) and people seem to enjoy dining out front as well. Like most places they are taking covid precautions and the outdoor area is a great place to spread out and enjoy a beer. I really enjoy being able to smell the brewing beer here as well. They have a full menu available if you've come for a meal. I like the decor as well, but do often find myself having to wait in line for the bathroom. read more

During the state's stay-at-home orders it's been tough leading a normal life and going out and about like everything is hunky-dory. I want to support small business as much as I can safely do. After spotting the brewery I decided to order via their website and pick-up on my way back to Seattle. My wife and I had just arrived to Seattle/Tacoma airport, and drove all the way up to Sedro Woolley, because we had plans to see the North Cascades the following day. We arrived for some food and drink after dumping our luggage at our air BnB and man I was NOT disappointed. I got two simple things: 1. Burger with fries, 2. Local IPA (don't recall the name) This was possibly in the top 3 of the GREATEST burgers I've EVER had. The bun was fluffy but also lightly toasted around its circumference. The beef was juicy and FULL OF FLAVOR. Plus they had a wonderful ambiance with outdoor seating and a live musician doing some folk music. I HIGHLY recommend this location. read more

Indoors is small and cozy. A section of Birdsview paraphernalia is displayed for purchase. The women's bathroom has a large changing table in it for mother's with infants. Nice touch Birdsview. A large outdoor seating area is also available to enjoy during the warmer days. Ten tasty beers are brewed on site. Cider and wine is also available if one doesn't care for beer. The food menu is more deli-style offering hearty sandwiches and burgers. Our group shared a few pitchers of Amber Ale for $15 each. Refreshing and flavorful. My wife ordered the Toasted Turkey & Swiss Sandwich for $9.95: turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese and mayo on toasted sourdough bread. Also served with a bag of Lay's potato chips and a fresh baked cookie. My wife was pleased with her lunch choice. I ordered the Classic Sandwich with Turkey for $9.50: topped with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions, pepper jack cheese, on wheat bread. Tiny brew pub with pretty good beer and an impressive food menu. Really limited indoor seating due to Covid so be prepared to wait or to sit outside by a heating lamp. Great service and the food was delicious. In particular I recommend the scotch ale (very light and drinkable, different than most scotch ales I've had) and the meatloaf sandwich. My partner and I journeyed 28 miles by bicycle up the Cascade trail. Birdsview Brewing was our "rest stop" and reward. The staff is friendly. I very much appreciate that protective masks and social distancing are enforced. Some places are pretty lax. Great beer and cider selection at a reasonable price. Plenty of seating options. The bathroom is very much worth mentioning. Extremely clean, well decorated, and, best of all, feminine sanitation items are available. How considerate. Oh man, this place is awesome. I can only speak to the beer, as we didn't eat here, but the beer is really fantastic. I had the Witbier, which is "similar to Shock Top" but SO MUCH BETTER, and has higher ABV. The other members of my party had the Ditsy Blonde (DEEEEEEEEEELISH - crisp and refreshing - after a long day of hiking in the Cascades) and the IPA, which, not my thing but they liked it. The outdoor area had live music with a band that reminded me of folk Jimmy Buffet, and the songs were funny and entertaining. It's got a big lawn for games and is a really chill place to relax and enjoy rural Washington. I plan on stopping here each time I'm on my way back from the Cascades. There's nothing like a cold beer after a long day, and it's even better when the beer is delicious. read more

Had the pleasure of having lunch here this afternoon after a long drive over the North Cascades Highway (2 day trip for us). I've been trying to try it for a while, it just never seemed to work out. First, the building is really cool. It's a round hut looking structure, with a second, smaller clone of itself attached for the brewing equipment. The inside seemed adequately spacious, with a somewhat small bar. We chose to soak up the sun in their awesome outdoor seating area complete with bird feeders and a horseshoes pit! We really enjoyed watching all the birds coming in for a snack! The food was excellent. All four of us were very pleased with our sandwiches. I was also happy with the fresh baked cookie that came with it :) The beer exceeded my expectations. Not all of them were necessarily my favorite, but they were incredibly well made. I was especially impressed with the pilsner. As a beer geek, I need to give one criticism for the pilsner and say that it really didn't strike me as a pilsner at all, but more of a Dortmunder Export, or even a Munich Helles. It was too malty to be a Pils... But that aside, I could drink gallons of the stuff. It was incredible. Props to him for pulling off a difficult style! Overall, really liked this place. My only criticisms are that 1. The logo is very, very lame. I think a place that serves beer of this caliber needs a professional looking logo. 2. the brewers wife was very friendly and chatty, but the other waitstaff was kind of short and cold. maybe it was an off day, but that was the impression I got. and 3. Their samplers are the most overpriced I've ever seen. Charging $14,50 for what would equate to just over 2 pints is a bit excessive, especially when a pint is $4.50. This place was recommended by a WTA pro tip after backpacking at Baker Lake. We were in the mood for some good beer and bar food after a long day of hiking.... unfortunately we left Birdsview still craving both. This place has an awesome outdoor seating area with pretty cool decor inside. The menu shows live music offered once a week as well. The burgers, chips, and cookie came out to $11ish dollars. The burger tasted like a frozen patty had just been warmed up and slathered in BBQ sauce. The cookie was good though! We tried a porter, witless, and something that tasted just like a corona :/ the porter was definitely the best of the bunch. The witless and blonde had very little flavor especially when it tasted just like a corona. read more

All of the 'health and safety measures' claims seem to be true! Customers, cooks, wait staff and cashier all wearing masks. Hand sanitizer stations throughout. Signs to wear your mask and distance from other people are displayed. Large outdoor patio with spread out picnic tables. I found myself impressed at the measures that this place took to keep people safe. The only thing is that I would have a smoking and a non-smoking area as I had to smell second-hand smoke while trying to relax and enjoy being outside. The Pesto Grilled Cheese sandwich tasted like the best thing in the world especially since I was super hungry and had hiked earlier in the day. Very nice little place! Fun interior, attentive staff, and very decent food. The black bean burger with pesto and blue cheese was excellent, hot and fresh, and the on-tap apricot cider and cherry cider were fabulous! This may seem like a small thing, but their cider was nice and cold and served a chilled glass... IMO a very little touch that makes ask the difference since I like my cider nice and cold. The one downside is the burgers are served with a bag of chips and a home made cookie. I would definitely prefer fries or a different option, and will likely spring the two dollars for a side salad substitution next time.
