We were a party of four. We ordered a burger with fries. Original pulled pork sandwich with fries, two piece fish and chips and a special barley salad with chicken added. Plus, two soda they were a large size and $3.50 each. Fries are an additional charge $4.50 for small and the chicken on the salad was an additional $6. The burger was slight under cooked and came with an overpowering horseradish sauce on it. The fish was borderline over cooked as well as the fries. The pulled pork said crispy but it had many charcoal black burnt piece that gave an off putting flavor and we're inedible. It was greasy and difficult to eat. The salad was the best item. Fantastic find in Burlington! Picked up my daughter from WWU and looked through Yelp for some great reviews- found Fairhaven. Fairhaven didn't disappoint! Cute little place right off the I-5. You order at the counter, plenty of seating. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich, onion rings, and I tried a Hibiscus soda, and my daughter ordered a lemonade. We found this place on Yelp and originally came to try the Classic BLT, jerk chicken, and Cuban sandwich, but unfortunately all three were unavailable--apparently the menu changes pretty often. We visited on a Saturday around noon, and the place was packed, which likely contributed to the roughly 30-minute wait for food. We ended up ordering the Carolina Gold pulled pork grilled cheese, the classic chicken sandwich, onion rings, and fried Brussels sprouts. The pulled pork grilled cheese was the standout, with rich flavor and ingredients that worked really well together. The classic chicken sandwich was less impressive--the chicken patty was large, but the seasoning felt bland and the breading was overly thick; honestly, fast food versions from Chick-fil-A or Popeyes were more satisfying. The onion rings and fried Brussels sprouts were also quite oily, enough that we felt a little heavy afterward. Service was friendly despite the rush, and the homemade breading across the dishes was a nice touch. My girlfriend and I met at Fairhaven for lunch. Free parking can be found in the small parking lot. Credit cards are an accepted form of payment with a $0.50 service fee added to all credit card transactions. Outdoor seating is available. Hopefully, the outdoor seating is nicer during the warmer months since the outdoor seating appeared shabby on the day of my visit. Indoors is small and pleasant. All transactions are placed at the front counter. There is zilch in table service or interaction of any sort. Water is self-serve. To-go boxes are self-serve. The menu is inventive and I appreciate that many of the items can be ordered as a half or full serving. I slurped on a North Sound IPA for $6.50. For my lunch, I chose the Chicken Bahn Mi Sandwich for $14: chicken thigh, crisp carrot, daikon, romaine, bean sprouts, cucumber, radish, shaved jalapeno & sweet ginger soy glaze, on a French roll w/ garlic aioli. The sandwich is served by itself without any type of side. The sandwich was tasty but extremely messy due to the sauce. It's best to eat this entire sandwich in one sitting since my second half became soggy after taking it home. My girlfriend ordered the half Beet & Arugula Salad for $9 + $5 up-charge for the addition of grilled Chicken Breast: endive, pickled beets, farro, marinated feta, house vinaigrette & pumpkin seeds. Really charming spot with such friendly service and a bright interior. We sampled four of their sandwiches and all were superb! We had the chicken sandwich which was a huge portion, with the chicken being moist and perfectly seasoned. I loved the roll on my salmon sandwich and it was fresh and one of the best fish sandwiches that I've had and so pleasant that it was not friend. Our daughter had the falafel wrap--loved how well seasoned it was and so enjoyable.... My husband had the burger and it was fantastic as well. We shared a large fries and onion rings--both were great as well. We wish we lived closer to this spot but to be honest think might head back to try to make this as part of regular dining out rotation despite the one hour drive, we need to think of more excuses to be up in Burlington. First time eating here! Getting into the parking lot is a bit cumbersome but oh well. The staff was very nice and helpful with menu questions. I absolutely loved the Bahn Mi Salad. I opted to add fried tofu as a protein and probably could've eaten 3 of these salads. I will say that it was a little difficult to have a conversation as the noise from the kitchen is pretty loud. It was our first time trying out The Fairhaven and won't be our last. They serve up creative sandwiches & salads with global flavours in such a laid-back surrounds. I love they have indoor and outdoor seating within a cute flower garden. We sat indoors this visit. We tried the Cuban sandwich from the daily specials and the Classic BLT. The sandwiches are sizeable, fresh and delicious! They mean business with the fresh and quality ingredients along with their homemade bread. There is something in their House Brewed Iced Tea that elevated the taste that I must order again when we return soon. Great lunch place not far off the highway. We had the soy chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich, and the pork-lettuce-sandwich. All were generously sized (we didn't finish) with fresh ingredients. The sandwiches don't come with sides so we ordered the French fries (think steak fries)-you can taste the real potatoes! Also ordered the onion rings, also very tasty. We opted for the small which we found just the right size for us but don't expect a giant pile. The salt and pepper shakers are so cute and tiny and reminded us of Mrs Salt and M. Best lunch! I had the soup, salad and bread lunch special, with tomato coconut soup. So good. The salad was flavorful, with at least two kinds of greens and a very tasty vinaigrette, pumpkin seeds for crunch. The soup was velvety smooth with a nice tang. Mostly I wanted to sample the bread, made from locally sourced flour. It was a flavorful sourdough with a soft, airy interior and chewy crust, served up with sweet butter on the side. I saved room for the panne cotta: creamy vanilla, not too sweet, topped with strawberry compote with just a bit of sweetness and a lot of fresh berry flavor. Better than ice cream! My husband enjoyed his bbq pork sandwich and salad. I sampled a bit of the pork, which was well seasoned, very tasty, and I am not much of a meat eater. They had vegetarian and pescatarian options, and we had the salmon sandwich and the grilled cheese sandwich. Both were pretty good, the salmon was well cooked (not too tough or chewy), and the grilled cheese had plenty of veggies so it felt a little healthier than a typical grilled cheese sandwich with just cheese and bread. This place is so good, I cannot even figure where to start. Set against a busy street (is this tiny gem.). They have a small lot in the back with a park like outdoor seating area. Entering the restaurant you order at the counter and then pick a seat (indoor or outdoor). The staff is always friendly and everything looks and smells so good. Onto the food. 1) falafel salad - this was really good. Not over dressed and the Thai I/lemon dressing was a good balance. The falafel hot, crispy and not dried out worked well with the greens, olives and feta. 2) garlic Parmesan fries. This was a whim of an order because a server walked by with it and it looked and smelt so good and it certainly was. I only wish I ordered the full size order! The sandwich was delicious, except for the aioli, which was made with extra virgin olive oil rather than a neutral oil. The result was overpowering. Thankfully, we asked for the aioli on the side, so the sandwich was not spoiled. The curry bread was wow, and the chicken had a nice kick. The onion rings had a cornbread batter, which was okay, and finished with too much sea salt. Service was incredibly friendly. We sat outside to get some fresh air. Wow, my family and I were absolutely blown away by this place. We're from Renton but stopped here for lunch on our way elsewhere. The food was phenomenal 10/10, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the ambiance was so peaceful. Their seating outdoor is so cute with the sunflowers behind the fence. I didn't get a picture of all the food but I did get a picture of the falafel sandwich and chef special gochujang wings. We got a lot of food with a lot of variety and shared accordingly. I had the gochujang wings and they were probably the best wings I've ever had in my life. The wings were so crispy and juicy and the pieces were huge! 6 pieces with some cucumber slices too.
