When in Concrete a new favorite of ours is Annie's Pizza Station. This place is unassuming in the corner of a small strip of businesses. Once inside it is deceptively large with a big back room as well as the up front seating. We had a personal Annie's Supreme pizza, Lasagna (my wife loves this lasagna here), a bowl of tomato bisque soup and a bowl of lasagna soup. I had never heard of lasagna soup and really liked it as it was like a very saucy lasagna All food is prepared fresh so it takes a bit before your food arrives. The food is very tasty and hot. I love it. Great service as well. Lots of people getting take out as well. I hope this place stays open for a long time as it's a great amenity to the area. read more

I love Annie's Pizza Station! It's a small, local business in Concrete with great Italian food. They offer indoor and limited outdoor dining (shown in the picture, beautiful views!) and table service or ordering at the counter. They also do takeaway. The place is small and doesn't have a lot of employees, like most places in the area, and can get really busy and sometimes run out of dishes like soup or vegetarian lasagna. So I make sure to call ahead if I want a specific item to make sure it's available. I recommend the veggie lasagna; it's a large portion, homemade, and delicious. The soups have also been very good, and they're homemade as well. Their Facebook page shows the behind-the-scenes of the soup-making, which is really cool to see! Pizza was very good and decent size for the large. We had a spaghetti and garlic bread which was ok but the pizza was definitely better. Service was very slow as when I walked in I waited for a long time for anyone to even take my order - it was a Wednesday night. They had lots of indoor seating for dining but only a couple outside. They had a pop machine to be able to do pour your own. They also had an ice cream machine but wasn't currently working. They told me my pizza and spaghetti would take 20-25 min but it ended up being closer to 35-40 minutes. I didn't end up taking any pictures because my kids were starving when I got home from ordering. I would order from them again but expect it to be a long time to get the order. read more

Stopped here for a late lunch after a hike at Sauk Mountain and thankfully avoided the crowd! I was super impressed by how clean the restaurant AND restrooms were as well as the spaghetti dish I got. The sauce was amazing. Fresh tomatoes and a little spicy! We ordered at the counter and got a pizza, a spaghetti dish with meatballs, and two ginger beers. What a wonderful little pizza place! We stopped here 9/6 on a drive my with boyfriend's car club. I have been to the area countless times and every time this pizza place is the spot to go! We brought the family here for dinner. I'm kind of a pizza snob and usually eat pizza at two local, family owned pizzerias near our Vancouver, WA home. I was impressed with the quality of the pies! Nice crust. Not too thick and a bit crunchy. Their red sauce was tasty and the cheese wasn't bland like many chains use. The toppings/ingredients used were top quality. In particular, the pepperoni wasn't greasy, the Italian sausage had great flavor and they even used kalamata olives versus the canned tasteless stuff usually atop pizzas. Since we are planning on relocating near Concrete, WA on a part time basis in the future I hope this establishment remains in business a long time. I'll be a regular customer for sure. THE LASAGNA!!! I ordered a full lasagna kind of last minute to feed a group of 7 girls. Went with the veggie option since we had a vegetarian in our group. The lasagna was so good that half the girls didn't realize it was a veggie lasagna until I told them - we didn't miss the meat at all! It fed us for two meals (with a salad on the side), so definitely worth the $90+tax price. All we had to do was bake it in the oven for 60 min, then another 30 min with the foil off (or you can also get it already baked). After finding a review about the restaurant on a Facebook page, a friend and I decided to take a pleasant afternoon mini-road trip from North Seattle to Concrete using the "avoid highways" option of google maps. We arrived and were greeted by the staff. I had a personal sized pizza called "Dani's Hawaiian Journey" which was a Hawaiian Pizza with Maraschino Cherries on and it was incredible... We've been to this place many, many times. We come up to rockport to camp and it was one of our favorite place to eat at. Was being the important word. 4 of us plus a toddler decided to go in for a late lunch. There were 3 people working there. Not one of them said welcome or acknowledged us.. nothing. That should have been my hint not to do this. We grabbed some menus. Two of us decided on getting subs. One a cold sub, the other a hot sub. One was a chicken all the toppings and another turkey with no onions, no peppers. Two of the others ordered the spaghetti dinner. Two dinner salads also. The woman who took our order was nice enough. We were able to choose the chips that we picked out as a side for our subs. It took 35 minutes for us to get our food. Let me tell you about this in a nutshell. Starting with the dinner salads, lettuce, diced tomato and olives. Talk about unimpressive. The subs were awful. The bread was homemade but was a bit heavy with no flavor at all. Salt would have been something good to add. My sub included peppers and onions which I said no to. The turkey was dry and over cooked. I'm not sure what kind of turkey this was but it was awful. The chicken was the kind you find cooked and reheat. Absolutely awful. The spaghetti was nothing special. I'm not sure why the orders took this long but it was unacceptable. No sorry for the wait, nothing. Don't waste your time on this place, honestly. For a many times as we have been here and had good food, we won't go again. No way. 50 years ago before Pizza Hut was ruined by the boardroom decisions of capitalist lunatics, the pizza they made was really good. They had a "pan pizza" which was a hybrid regular and deep-dish crust that was crispy, light and had a great flavor and bite. Annie's has reproduced this wonder of yesteryear. I had a small supreme and it was delicious and filling without being bloating or gross. The flavor and amount of everything was perfect. You feel spoiled by such abundant toppings, but not turned off by it being too over the top. Pizza may seem a low rank food according to epicures, but there is an art to everything, and if you think about it, every pizza is an original work of art. You walk into this place and the smell hits you like a true pizzeria, it reminds me of my childhood. They cook your pizza when you order, so it is fresh, but takes a bit. We at Annie's Special and the pizza was delicious, fresh toppings, nice cheese, and the crust was nice and crispy. The service was mostly meh, the woman at the register looked a bit dazed, but the woman making pizza came out and checked on us which was cool. My only negative, is we on a whim ordered a bowl of their carrot soup with coconut milk, cilantro and Asian chili sauce. It for us, was not good. The flavor seemed tinny, and we just couldn't eat it. It had been well over a year since I have dined at my favorite restaurant. Due to the earlier closing hours, and the days they are closed, we just kept missing them. So glad this little gem made it though Covid, because so many of our favorite restaurants did not. As usual, we were coming back from a day in the mountains, we called in our pizza early so it would be ready when we got there, and the fabulous crew at Annie's were right on schedule. I also noticed that my favorite Tomato Soup was on the menu, and even though we didn't really need it, I had to order it anyway, I told my friend that this was the most awesome Tomato Soup on the planet, and I just had to share it with her. Upon entering Concrete, WA, it's easy to see why the town bears that name. The town's main buildings are all made of concrete. Apparently, after the buildings burned down by fire, they decided to rebuild them using fireproof concrete from the local cement factory. That's a unique town origination story! Annie's seemed to be one of the better restaurants in town. Judging by the number of awards it has on it's wall and the quality of the pizza, it is. It's an old school pacific northwest restaurant, meaning that on 90 degree days, it's warm inside too so wear shorts and a T-shirt. We ordered one of the more traditional pizza topping combinations, and it came so loaded that it had to be eaten with a fork and knife. Based on how many tourists go through Concrete on their way to or from North Cascades National Park, it's surprising there aren't more restaurants in this part of Washington. Fortunately, the tourists and locals have Annie's Pizza. read more

When I called to place my to-go order she asked if she could put me on hold which was totally fine with me but 5 minutes later I can still hear everyone talking and hear a "oh crap, someone is on hold". Not good. WE Have tried and tried again cause everyone raves about this place. Cashier: "Ok. That'll be $68 please." Customer: "Excuse me?" Cashier: "Your total is $68." Customer: "For two pizzas!?" The red sauce is way too thick on top, and it tastes uncooked, bland, like straight out of the can. The veggies are more like the ends and pieces, big fat awkward chunks instead of slices, parts of the vegetable you would throw away, produce was not fresh, not easy to eat, not spread evenly, not good. The pastas are bland, and I don't remember. That was last time. [edit: Hubby remind.] The wait is always long and weird, whether calling on phone or inside in line. Service is questionable. Like, I really am confused. One time the wait was ridiculous, like literally, 2 hours, because they forgot about a lasagna or something? But the attitude was the main bummer. We were just trying to indulge, to treat ourselves, to enjoy good food. But when it turns into upset ness, explanations and excuses, and no apologies ¿ then the customer is wrong, and that hurts. They forgot utensils that time too! Of course, we already got back to hotel. It was super inconvenient and challenging finding cutlery, had to go to Lonestar to get the industry packs. I called Annie's to let them know our disappointment on that order, how long we waited, and that the lasagna was partially frozen cold, and the lady who answered could not have cared less. Rather, she sounded annoyed. And I was trying to be nice, leaving out the part that the lasagne was not good. No matter. I seem to remember it being ultra bland and lacking ricotta or other important ingredients. Honestly, I do not think they store their "fresh" basil correctly. Lots of people love Annie's.
