Great little bakery with bread, pastries, meal dishes, coffee and more! They are closed Tuesday and Wednesdays, so we drove back up to be there on Thursday (opens at 9am). Service was super friendly and efficient. The worker offered to heat up the honey bun and made a great made-to-order mocha for me since I like mine a little sweeter. Stopped here on our way to SeaTac for flight home after North Cascades trip. Absolutely wonderful sweet and savory gluten-free treats! We tried 4 different things, and all were fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and hard-working. Very chill and casual ambience. A bit crowded on a Sunday morning but it was raining, so nobody was using the extensive outside seating. read more

Who would have thought that this excellent bakery would be in the little town of Concrete, WA. It's difficult to explain how many types of pastries and foods there were. Everything from cookies to small pies to large pies, breads, ect. The only downside was the blended mocha I ordered. Very bland, wouldn't recommend it. read more

Well, it's gluten-free. I suppose it's good by those standards, but for a general bakery, that just means it's not as good as if they used gluten. The pastry crust was all okay for that, but all weirdly textured. The tastiest part was the filling in the pot pie, which was perfectly spiced. read more

This place was pretty amazing. We stopped here to check out the town and ended up here. So many bakery items that just looked amazing. I had an iced mocha there and I have to say that it was the best iced coffee I've ever had. I don't usually get them for they are usually made so sweet. This was well made and I could tell. Note that the entire bakery is gluten free, so keep your expectations relative. I was misdiagnosed as celiac for 5 years and ate a LOT of different gluten free foods during that time (before all the cool innovative products/recipes came out). Personally, I didn't love the food here. It was pretty pricey; the two of us each ordered one coffee + one food item, and the total came out to $40+. We thought the food items were pretty dry/crumbly/tough, acknowledging they are gluten free and don't have that classic fluff. We weren't very happy with the espresso either; it almost tasted like Keurig coffee. Service was friendly and parking is easy. read more

Just stopped in here again on Sunday while in the area and to use a gift card we had won a bit back. This place is still consistently busy and the staff are all very friendly. My daughter had the Tomato Basil Soup with a side salad while my wife and I each had a quiche. We each had a coffee drink or a specialty espresso drink. I like my gluten but there are apparently a lot of folks that don't need or want it. Our quiche was tasty and the coffee drinks were good. There are a LOT of items in the cooler to purchase and take home for later including pot pies, pasta dishes and desserts and all of it gluten free. Nice place to try when in Concrete. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but left disappointed. Putting aside the virtue signalling signs on entry, the place is quite quaint. There are a large variety of built from scratch bakery selections, along with many locally crafted gifts. Unfortunately, I somehow missed that it's all gluten free, so, as one other reviewer noted, the items are dry and crumbly, almost as though they are stale or have been frozen. Also, the coffee was burnt. The service was average. I had the opportunity to stop by here again but chose to blow past it and go to other bakery just down the road. read more

The first thing to know about 5B's is that it is a cute-as-a-button local hub, and a great place to start a day if you're in the area. The coffee is good, the service is excellent and friendly, and they have great items for sale, especially if you are shopping for gifts for coffee lovers. The next thing to know is that their bakery offerings are gluten free, and may not be what you expect, flavor and texture-wise. I'd steer away from the cookies and cake desserts, unless you're really into that sort of thing. Dry, sandy textures await you, often as not. Filled and creamy options, like cheesecake, would be a better bet. If you're into gluten avoidance, this could be your jam. But stop in anyway - a cool cafe and shop, for sure. read more

Various breads, muffins, pizza round, pretzels, pot pies, savory breakfast muffins, cookies, tarts, pies, they have them all, along with your special coffee accompaniment. Can I give this more than 5 stars?! Don't let the fact that this is a fully-GF bakery deter you! It is a great bakery, period! We enjoyed delicious breakfast and coffee here our first day of vacation and took items from their freezer back to our Airbnb for dinner the following night (chicken pot pie and curry pot pie were both phenomenal)! We went again our last morning here for breakfast and coffee and a box filled with goodies to take home to our family! Service is not the speediest...but great food takes time and it is WORTH IT! this is an iconic pit stop off hwy 20 in concrete. i love stopping in for a baked good and be forewarned: there's lots to consider. from savory to sweet, small or large. they also have food you can easily order and eat there and if you're traveling during rain or cold weather and the hey isn't closed, this is a great place to take a load off, take off your jacket and just take some deep breaths. read more

What a gem in the middle of no where! Everything is gluten free. There are some dairy free options but limited (would love to see more!). I got the snickerdoodle cookie and carrot cake cupcake (both dairy free). The carrot cake cupcake is the best I've had since going gluten free 9 years ago. It was soft, moist and flavorful. Icing was a little sweet but I just scraped some off. Snickerdoodle cookie was good. My husband got the crème puff and bread pudding. He loved both and the filling was generous in the crème puff. Neither were dry. Hope to pass again on our way back to Seattle. We returned today 10/16 and it was beginning of the day so the case was full! Unfortunately, the dairy free options did not change :( we did order breakfast from the kitchen. Eggs and bacon for me and hubby got the seasonal pumpkin streusel waffles. This bakery makes the best gluten free food I've ever had, and how lucky we are to have it here in small town Concrete! Most of the menu items don't even taste "gluten-free"-- the texture and flavor is as good if not better than traditional baked goods. Some of my favorite things are the calzones, cinnamon rolls, maple bacon donuts, and the drunken nun cupcakes (a chocolate & vanilla cupcake with booze-soaked cherries!). But in my opinion the best thing on the menu is the meatloaf cupcake! Delicious meatloaf (give me your recipe!) topped with mashed potato "frosting" and sprinkled with cheese. I get it almost every time I come here! The only downside to me is the pricing on some of the items can be a little expensive, but I suppose that's relative to what you're willing to pay for a great gluten free baked good. read more

Oh that lemon poppyseed bundt cake has ruined me! I was surprised to learn that it is 100% vegan. Wow! We really enjoyed the sausage morning hash..it was colorful and flavorful and filling for a day of hiking. This is a great place. The kids will love the patio and the giant connect-four game out front. Service is great. They are ready for all your questions. The food is tasty and if you don't care about texture than you won't really notice that everything is gluten-free. They do not have anything sugar-free. read more
