We ordered their house made chili to start and it was delicious and filling. My hubby ordered the Billy's platter. I ordered the chicken chimichanga. The food was delicious and generously sized. A great place for breakfast. 30 min wait on a Saturday morning so we looked over the menu. They have a ton of breakfast and lunch items available. We started with a bowl of clam chowder. Lots of clams and oh so good. My corned beef hash skillet was the best I've ever had. The corned beef hash was tasty and not greasy, the potatoes crisp and flavored just right and perfect over easy eggs. Made is easy to mix it all together, which is how I like it. Service, service, service!! Let me say it loud and clear.... SERVICE!!! When the entire staff of a restaurant is present, connected, participating and involved it shows and we are paying attention! Matter of fact, we love the attention! The entire staff was funny, friendly and attentive to each and every customer. The food is amazing cafe food served hot and fast! The portions are huge so come hungry or have room in the fridge for some great leftovers! The Chicken Fried Steak and CFS Burrito will definitely feed two folks each, as will a whole lot of other menu items! The servers need to be body builders to carry some of those loads!! Hubby had the Chicken Fried Steak and could only eat half! I had a few bites to help him out and it was delicious, just as important, the gravy was seasoned and had a real good texture. Our adult daughter had the breakfast burrito and had to take half of it home! I had a "normal" breakfast and it was all cooked to perfect order including the eggs and hashbrowns extra crispy! Billy's is the #1 rated breakfast place in Sedro-Woolley for a few reasons, the top two being the service and portions of delicious food! Saturdays are my hiking days. Recently, we decided that we would start incorporating brunch into our plans after we spend all morning on the trails - because duh, right? After we were done hiking Oyster Dome, we decided to go check out Billy's because of the awesome reviews. It's on a quiet little street in Burlington with street parking only, which we found easily. We waited about 10 minutes for a seat which wasn't bad at all. Customer service was kind. For food, I went with the Billy's Plate, which comes with homemade biscuits w/gravy, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and eggs. The biscuit was the best part of the meal. Definitely could tell it was homemade and almost had a sweet taste to it. So good! The gravy was also tasty - not as peppery or meaty as I normally like it, but still good. The rest of the meal was pretty blah. The eggs were almost mushy in texture, the bacon wasn't cooked to ANY sort of a crisp (so definitely ask for crispy!) and the hashbrowns had the same problem - very soft and no crisp. It was almost like they didn't have time to give everything the time on the stove that it needed? The sausage link was really good though - tasted like really good quality and wasn't one of those tiny wimpy ones most places give. I'm so sad that it didn't live up to the reviews, so I'm thinking maybe it was just an off day? Who knows. I'd be willing to try them again. Be aware that they aren't doing the *best* job of COVID regulations. Yes, people are wearing masks when they come in. But they're still packing the place and even though there was "no seating at the counter" signs up, they were still allowing guests to sit and eat up at the counter next to each other, even if they weren't from the same party. read more

In fear of adding to the spot on reviews about this place and drawing more traffic to this little cafe I didn't want to leave a review! The cafe is a small one with the absolute nose down to earth staff, the ambience has such a small hometown vibe that was a great change from the usual corporate style dinners. Prices are spot on, Bill mentioned how they work with local farmers to source some of their materials! The food was genuinely delicious. If you have the chance and can you have to try the pancakes! Such a simple thing but man do these guys know what they're doing! And the strawberry jam? Locally sourced! My boyfriend ordered the Country Benedict, and I went for one of the skillets--The Farmer. My boyfriend fed me a couple bites of his dish, and I must say that the biscuit was something special. I think it was toasted on a grill. The eggs on my skillet were perfectly cooked, and everything else about it was solid. I had enough food for a second meal, so I brought half home. The two tiny slices of sourdough toast were a bit of a disappointment. As I mentioned, there are some issues with price, speed of service, and ventilation. I don't think breakfast for two people should cost $50 plus tip. Also, it took a very long time for us to get our food. Ventilation is definitely an issue--soon as you walk in the door, you realize you're going to walk out smelling like the greasy spoon. The place is small, so there's probably no realistic way around that. All and all, Billy's is alright. With Train Wreck right up the street and Stilly Diner in Arlington, it's hard to mage the case for returning to Billy's. read more

What a gem. We stopped here on our way from Seattle to Bellingham. Incredibly friendly, home-y, awesome friendly staff, prizes for kids, fun eating challenges with prizes, patriotic decor and did I mention the delicious food! This place is a town favorite for sure because it was busy the whole time. As a coffee snob, even the coffee was descent. It wasn't bitter and very smooth. I passed on the shelf stable creamers. I got the Corned beef hash skillet with country gravy - so delicious and filling! My husband got BLAT sandwich - he loved it and the fries that came with it had this yummy batter. Great experience. Went here back in mid April for a Saturday late brunch. The place was pretty busy for almost being near closing time. Waiter was super friendly and came by to ask how our food was. Half of the staff was not wearing a mask. The hash was sadly burnt and some of the bits were inedible. Maybe the skillet over cooked it. However their gravy was to rave home about! The normal breakfast that my friends had were pretty amazing too , pancakes were also very good. Another friend ordered the skillet steak and it was also over cooked, maybe the skillet isn't a great idea if you don't prefer your food being over cooked. read more

I have been all over the country primarily for business. One thing I have learned in that time is breakfast restaurants tend to be rated highly if the execution is decent and there is sufficient quantity of food. Let's face it, by teenagers most of us can whip up a passable egg, bacon and toast. I say that because I have been on a mission to try some truly great breakfasts in the Valley. Partly spawned by having a chef in New Orleans setup a table in his kitchen and he personally made us breakfast. To date I have still never had better food pass my lips. I am always shocked when I have breakfast out and consistently get poorly seasoned potatoes. I avoid using a restaurants table salt. A therapist could probably help me there but I use it as a line of last resort. Even at home, if I prepare something and have to reach for the salt, I consider my execution subpar. This happens to be one place that can turn out hash browns and, gasp, season them well! Potatoes, unlike many vegetables, IMHO, are just one of those things that require salt. They should come with a warning label on the five pound bag that states 'will taste as bad as the dirt they came out of if you don't add a little salt'. I don't eat breakfast normally so when I do, this is a place I always consider depending on the direction of travel. read more

There is a small indoor area with booths and tables as well as a counter and a couple tables outside. The server made me a fresh pot of decaf and I ordered the strawberry crepes. The crepes were just the right amount of chewy with a sweet/tangy cream cheese filling topped with fresh strawberries, I couldn't finish them so I took them to go and they were still great the next day.
