    Strawberry crepes special $16
    Lesly W.

We were hungry and looking for a place for brunch to eat on a Sunday in Anacortes. Overall I was quite disappointed at the quality of food. The service was okay. There was no sign-in for the wait list and it seemed very disorganized. Understandably, they were short-staffed. I ordered strawberry crepes from the special menu and didn't find it very enjoyable for $16. The portion is small and honestly I think I would've gone to iHOPS instead if I wanted crepes. There was just too much cream cheese to crepes ratio and the strawberry sauce leaked into the eggs so it ruined the taste of it. Fortunately they were able to replace my eggs but the eggs tasted really mediocre. I don't think the price and value is worth it for me to come back.

@iwanttobewhatieat I love @islandcafeanacortes Not for the atmosphere, Not because the food is mind bending, Not because the service is memorable, I love it because it just is. It is that place where you go and eat a meal. Casual. Easy. Not pretentious. Family run and operated it just feels like a local corner spot where you can eat good food without all the typical lines, and crowds and chaos of island restaurants. The island breakfast is your jam if you are there for am chow! The entire thing is 15.00. Seriously you can't even park In Seattle for an hour for 15.00! It's flipping delicious. Eggs. Bacon. Sausage. Ham. Hash browns and a pancake?!!! sit at the bar if your solo. The staff is very nice and always makes you feel comfortable. #anacortes #anacorteseats #islandcafeanacortes #islandbreakfast #pnweats #foodblog #foodie #foodiesofinstagram #eathere #bestfood #bestfoodfeed #foodblogger #eatingfortheinsta #foodstagram #foodlover #foodgram #foodaddict #washingtonrestaurants #washingtoneats #pnwfood #skagitvalley #skagitfood #skagitfoodies #foodporn #borntoeat #yummy #nomnom #deliciousfood #deliciousness #breakfast

Pretty in purple, but not very good.

The place is kind of sweet and unassuming. Service was fine. The slice of raspberry cake was pretty but honestly, tasted like it came from a box.

Missed our ferry so we were pretty depressed driving back to town. We had an inkling to support local businesses so decided we wanted breakfast and happened on this spot. No wait at all and all around solid breakfast, would consider going back again if I ever miss the ferry again. The bloody Mary's hit and back and eggs were fresh off the stove. My friend might have thrown up in the bathroom.

Great family restaurant for our group of 8. Super friendly staff, tasty big portions. Really good chowder, better than most for sure.

Ask the Community - Island Cafe

Is it really supposed to open at 6? Fix the listing if not. We were hoping to get breakfast before catching the ferry but at 605 the waitress was just coming in to work and unlocked the front door.

Don't try to go have a sit down meal before trying to catch a ferry!! Go thru a drive thru!!! you won't get to do that on your San Juan vacation

Wasn't busy for brunch afternoon on Friday. It's got chill, friendly coastal vibes and is an easy ten minute post-meal walk to Q'elech'ilhch Park. -5/5 Crab Cakes - why are crab cakes so small ToT I wish I had more -5/5 Steamers (clams) - delicious sauce, goes well with the bread. A little bit of sand in some clams, but not a big issue when eating. -4.5/5 Poblano Grits and Shrimp - only rated slightly lower because I'm comparing it to the delicious crab cakes and clams. This dish really rounded out our meal and helped it feel more filling. -5/5 Bread - normally I would not note the complimentary bread, but this was really soft and delicious. I took some home to eat on the side. Also a good spot if you happen to be near the area for the Skagit Tulip Festival.

Ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms, which was really really good, but they literally gave me about a spoonful. It came in a soup cup and it barely covered the bottom of it, which is ridiculous for the $5 upcharge. As with everyone else, I do highly recommend the crab cakes. It's excellent.

We headed over for dinner to celebrate a special occasion, and we were glad we'd made a reservation because the place was packed! The ambiance here is dark and elegant - not something I necessarily expect in Anacortes, but it set the perfect tone for a special evening. Our server, Aimee, who I knew from local Yelp events years ago, was absolutely fantastic. She knew everything on the menu, and by the time she described everything we asked about, we had trouble not ordering it all. But first, we started with a bottle of perfectly chilled sauv blanc while we perused the menu. I was impressed by the varied selection of food. They have everything from burgers to ribeye, and all very fairly priced. We started with an order of calamari, perfectly fried and served with a citrussy, aioli-style sauce. For dinner, Dude loved their fish 'n chips while I devoured a plate of fresh king salmon served atop crispy risotto and the most amazing pesto lemon cream sauce. After we enjoyed sharing a dish of tasty creme brulee, Aimee shared that they serve brunch here too! I had no idea, but looking at the menu and hearing that they serve mimosas, we'll definitely be back. We also got a mini tour of their adorable speakeasy style bar and huge in-progress beer garden too. I'm definitely keeping Tasha Lee's on my Anacortes rotation!
