2/23/25 Wow, wow, wow! Need I say more? Okay, I will. We arrived around 10:45am and were lucky enough to get a table right away. About a half hour later, the place was packed. The food was absolutely outstanding. The calamari was fresh. My boyfriend and I split the Philly cheesesteak with beer cheese and the Smash burger with dragon cheddar and fries. All of it was incredible. Next time I'll try the Philly cheesesteak with provolone, though. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, and the seats are comfortable. Service was very friendly and a bit chaotic. We had to ask for napkins and flatware, and one of the servers was running around like a chicken with its' head cut off. I stopped watching her because I was starting to feel stressed out too. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some other items on the menu.

Ambiance was cozy. Wait staff professional and gave a feeling of a higher end restaurant. The carrots with goat cheese were so good!! Also the dragon sushi roll was well worth it for the price. Would definitely go back for dinner there again and I live over an hour away. Rockfish sandwich had a good amount of lettuce and sauce & the fish was flaky inside, crispy outside.

Chicken Fried Steak, Poached Eggs, Grits and Flaky Biscuit. Delicious, as was the Ruby Slipper!

We came to this place after reading all their raving reviews. The store is located in downtown Anacortes off of the main street. There are plenty of parking spots available. The inside was packed when we went, but there were only two waitresses working that day. Therefore, we had to wait 15 minutes to get seated, and then other 15 minutes before our order was taken. After ordering, the food came out after 20 minutes. It felt quit long especially since we were hungry. We tried the loco moco and the biscuit and gravy. Both were phenomenal and very reasonably priced. However, we found their portions to be on the smaller side. After one finishing my entrée, I only felt 70% full and was craving for more. However, I couldn't justify myself to order another entrée that I wouldn't be able to finish and have to wait another 20 minutes for.

Check out the night-blooming flower just inside the door. It opened up for us.

This place checks all the boxes: Great food, great staff, great ambiance. The seasonally updated menu is *just daring enough* without being intimidating. Recently enjoyed a fabulous elk and Brie burger. Fish and chips are 10/10. Cocktail menu is fun and fresh. We love that the owner is on site, waiting tables and making recommendations.

Anytime we're in town, it's a MUST. my favorite part is that it's probably one of the only spots where I go and I truly don't know what I'm getting cause there are so many good options.

We happened upon this place while visiting the Anacortes Art Festival and realized we'd discovered a favorite new place to dine! The owner and staff clearly care about their diners. The service was excellent and the food was one "oh wow!" after another. The Halloumi cheese sandwich and gyro were excellent. The lemongrass coconut martini is my favorite new cocktail. Beware, it goes down easily, it's so delicious - no doubt a treat with or without alcohol. The environment is charming. All around great experience!

cute little spot downtown! i sat on the patio & got fish & chips & two moscow mules. the person who sat me was also my server & was very nice. when i ordered i asked if they had cocktail sauce (fish & chips comes w fries, slaw if you ask & tartar sauce) & she said she could "make some". wow, if she made it to order i would not be surprised because both the sauces were delicious! the slaw was in a small container & fresh & crunchy & the fish was very good. the fries were outstanding. the only minus was there was only one piece of fish. some of the reviews say it's "huge/giant". it's a medium sized piece of fish. mine was cooked nicely & flaky; i've just never been served fish & chips & only gotten one piece of fish before. other than that i loved everything else.. as i was eating i asked my server what her name was.. she said Tasha! omg i felt so honored! my daughter wasn't hungry but she appreciated the kids menu to color on which kept her occupied while i enjoyed my dinner. i am from CA but my aunt & uncle live close & i would definitely be back! food quality is great & wonderful service from Tasha! i especially loved the fresh & flavorful sauces! if i get the chance i will visit again before i leave.

Absolutely amazing!! Try the Flaming Saganaki, but everything is delicious. Staff is wonderful, and the menu has so many options.

Fish and chips, decent sized fillet, piping hot and crispy.

Went back a 2nd time for brunch. Ordered a smash burger. Husband ordered eggs and hash, nothing special or extraordinary about it in terms of portion or flavor. My burger was missing a patty. I pointed it out to the waitress. She said she would get me another. I thought she meant she would replace it with another smash burger. Nope. She brought out another single patty by itself and but by then my burger had gone cold and my husband finished his meal. It was a lousy experience for the price.

I would give them a 4.5 They take a different approach to food and that is a good thing The fish and chips came with a giant piece of fish and hand cut fries It was very good The smash burger was very good although I think it should come with better cheese than American included in the price I do recommend you try them

Dynamite! Super fresh sushi masterfully mixed and presented.

Is there a bar in the back?

Yes! A cool little speakeasy! There's also a sunny beer garden "The Back Yard" that's great!

I can appreciate the freshness of what I ate. The fish was…read moreflaky and the batter had a good ratio to fish. The fries was good and everything else was good. I ordered the platter that came with a whole bunch of stuff including fried oysters, scallops and shrimp. A small place that can get pretty busy but worth the wait.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.

I like it better how the fish fried w/ panko instead of old fashion batter. I like it better than Proper Fish; but again idk if thats truely comparable. It was rainy and we had the doggos so we had order the foods to go and ate them at the car. The sevice was fast and the two ladies working were super friendly. What we got: Alaskan cod 4.5/5 Nicely fried and the fish good as is without any sauce. Halibut 5/5 This was our favorite out of the two; realy nicely fried and the fish is just so flaky and taste great as is. Onion ring 5/5 My wife love onion rings and she said this was the best so far; it was perfect amount of batter and nicely fried as well. Both fish were great; the fries......its alright. They mightve fried them a bit too long; we still finish them tho Including tips; i paid $80 for all three; but i wouldnt mind paying knowing that its gna be great! We will be back for sure and tried their other offering; specially when the patio area is open; and i hope they are consistenly good.
