My husband and I came to the Cascade Bay Grill on our honeymoon for lunch. This restaurant is located on the property of the Rosario Resort right next to the water. We had nice outdoor seating and our server was very quick. We both ordered the crab cake sandwiches with a side of fries and a glass of Chardonnay and they were all amazing. Food came out quickly and everything was fantastic. They are taking all the normal covid precautions here. Masks worn by all the staff and the checkout process was contactless as I was able to pay through their website. We loved eating here so much that we ended up getting reservations for the other restaurant on property, The Mansion, for dinner on the same day. read more

We stopped here to get a few supplies/food when we stayed at the marina. The Cascade Bay Grill & Store had few supplies if looking for supplies while boating, it felt more geared towards the grill. They have tasty fish and chips if you are in the mood to eat out. The view out over the marina is beautiful and the grill is right by the rocks on the edge of the water, making it a fun place to eat and watch wildlife. read more

Rather good. Outdoors overlooking the Marina. Menu choices are certainly adequate rather than overwhelming. Eaten here rather regularly can say everything is good, food is good, service is good, prices are good, tables are good. We eat here more regularly than most other places on the island. We were hanging out for the day at the nearby marina pool, owned by the Rosario. We ordered several rounds of drinks throughout the day, along with lunch for 4. The pina colada drinks were phenomenal- not frozen and super creamy. They started off with a fresh chunk of pineapple as an accent but that stopped probably after round 2. The bartender was definitely overworked. He never bothered to give us a time estimate on how long our lunch order would take (we thought it would be delivered to the pool but that was not the case). He forgot the pineapple and was never rude but just didn't have time. The food was nothing memorable and since it's a recognized tourist trap (right next to the marina and a pool), to be expected. It's the only option when you are at the pool but improvements can certainly be made. read more

We have given this place several chances but think we are done now. The burger is really good, I will grant you. Breakfasts are ok. Service is variable. Waited for over 45 minutes for food while everyone around us was served (and several other tables got up and left without ordering). Asked for our food multiple times and they were "working on it." Absolutely shocked and delighted. After reading the yelp reviews and ratings for the two restaurants on the resort, we defeatedly headed to the grill, because if we were gonna have a marginal meal - at least we wouldn't spend too much money on it. Turns out, we had some of the best fresh seafood ever. The cod in the fish and chips came crispy-flaky-fresh and utterly delicious... and the breading was also perfect - not too thick or greasy. We started our meal with a half dozen local oysters. When they say local, then mean just down the street local. If you've ever harvested your own oysters and eaten them on the beach - that is exactly how these tasted. They were small and delicious. I couldn't believe that I was tasting oysters at a restaurant like this. My husband order the pan fried King Salmon. Needless to say, it was delicious. Fresh, perfectly cooked, large serving for $24. This dish is definitely a hard recommend - although don't get the potato wedges, they were boring and undercooked - the fries that come with the fish and chips are way tastier. read more

Got takeout and the food was prepared quickly. Burgers and fish & chips were decent. Marinated flank steak had little flavor- tiny piece of meat with some grilled veggies, seemed like a meager portion for $28. They do have a nice location on the water with outside seating- may have redeemed the food a bit had we not gotten takeout. read more

I was a bit confused when I called to make a reservation and they said they were booked so we drove down just to see the view and we learned that this restaurant has a different extension then the one attached to this page. I absolutely loved eating in this outdoor restaurant by the water. We shared fish tacos and Ahi poke. We shared the french fries and the tortilla chips that came with the meals. We each had a beer and it was a lovely lunch. I wish we could've gone back a few more times. This may be one of my favorite restaurants on the island. read more

Great outdoor patio for a beverage that overlooks the marina! The restaurant is attached to a gift shop/coffee bar where you can also grab food and drink to go. They have 4 beers on tap - two of which are generally rotating plus a good selection of craft canned beer. We ordered the fish and chips and chop salad with grilled corn. The fish and chips were delicious - not too much breading on the fish, although for the price it would have been nice to have more than two pieces. The fries were delicious. Wouldn't recommend the salad - the corn wasn't grilled at all and the overall ingredients/flavor was just lacking. Your typical bar salad but a little under average. Staff is super friendly! My friends and I spent our birthday weekend at Rosario. We had a wonderful time last year and wanted to return. We had a group of 6 adults and 6 kids, ages 2-6. Last year, we ate on a table with bench seats and had a wonderful dinner together with a view. It was a pleasant experience. We returned, expecting similar service and policies, and were abruptly greeted with curt staff and a significant change in policy around groups. We were presented three separate tables and told we would not be able to sit together as they could not accommodate large tables any longer. We were made to feel as if we had committed an significant demeanor by asking for seating together by the waitstaff and manager. After talking to the manager, we eventually agreed to sit separately, each family at their own table. We were told we would still be charged 25% gratuity as a group of 12 even though we weren't allowed to sit together. However, the manager suggested we could go outside and wait in line to be seated at different tables as they became available so that we would not be charged the 25% gratuity. This was after we were already seated with our kids. The ridiculousness of this show with 6 young kids in tow was extremely disappointing. With many previous restaurant servers and employees in tow, we were quite taken a back by the rude and inflexible staff and new policies. On top of this all, the next day part of our group went to get a drink at the same bar only to be charged 25% again but this time to takeaway the drink to the pool. As noted above, this was new from the previous year and was not shared upon check-in at the front desk or information they handed out. We were not allowed to purchase drinks for other adults and had to make several trips for each adult. We hope with new management we would see improvements but we're very disappointed and discouraged from returning. This place clearly needs a review in customer service and how to keep customers - it certainly isn't how I was trained to accommodate customers. read more

I stopped by for a cold beer on a warm day with a friend and loved the setting and service. The staff is really top notch. They are very focused on delivering great customer service. They moved umbrellas so customers did not need to shield themselves from the sun. They were busy but always on the ball. read more

We were staying at the resort and we were initially turned off by the Yelp reviews, so we went into East Sound for lunch. That evening we were too tired to leave the resort so we came here for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a very good caeser salad, good clam chowder, Fresh oysters straight from Orcas island. The service was good as well. Ultimately we came back two more times during our stay and we were never disappointed. It is a little pricey, but you're paying for the convenience and the view as well. read more

We stopped in for a bite after an afternoon touring the San Juans. The drinks were expensive for what you get. $10 for a drink in a martini glass? Come on. We ordered a mushroom and sausage pizza. The waiter said it would feed four. It arrived and we were sadly disappointed. At 14 inches in diameter it might feed four. Yeah, four 8 year old girls perhaps. We had to hunt to find the toppings. I don't think I got any sausage, and if I did, I sure didn't taste it. There was no flavor whatsoever. Barely a hint of sauce. Plenty of mozzarella but aside from that not much else. The service was super though. Everyone was very friendly and the place was clean. Too bad this place was so average and yet so expensive, there aren't too many places to eat in the area. read more

Dined again here over the weekend. Our waiter was very welcoming and friendly, and the service was fast. They mentioned kindly several times they were out of many of their items, but we were ordering other things so it was fine with us. The caesar salad was made with iceberg lettuce, maybe due to this issue? I overlooked it. Two burgers (great caramelized onions), a beer and a margarita for $75 after tip is a bit steep. You really pay for the location and views. The margarita was delicious but really expect to shell out $$$ if you are looking to order a few drinks. read more

I was completely shocked by how disappointing my dining experience was here. Starting with being ignored for 10 minutes after sitting, despite a manager and several servers seeing us but doing the side-eye so as not to engage. This would become a theme throughout the night. The kitchen was behind but instead of our server telling us this, she just avoided eye contact while we waited almost an hour for an order of fish tacos and a burger. We had to go to the bar to ask for a glass of wine since our server would not look at us, we could not even flag her down. The burger was "fine" but the fish tacos were nasty. Instead of a piece of fish in a taco it was little hard crumbles of fish that tasted like nothing and the tortillas were cold and hard. I took a bite and had to tear the cold tortilla with my teeth which then made a pile of bland fish flakes pour out everywhere. I want to bite in to a juicy piece of fish, damnit! Despite being starving from waiting over an hour to get food here, I could not bring myself to eat them. The waitress cleared my plate without noting the fact that I did not even finish one taco and dropped our check as if everything was fine. No comp on the wine for the insane wait, no mention of the full plate of food she took away. I was beyond livid and didn't bother asking for the tacos to be taken off the bill because they had made it so obvious they didn't care about providing good service. I also just wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible- worst birthday dinner ever. They are clearly banking on the fact that people will come in because of the location so they make no effort to provide an excellent experience with food or service. It was amateur hour from the moment we walked in. With prices like theirs, you'd think they could afford cloth napkins and decent management. read more

The view is lovely. The food was not. How can you ruin a scrambled egg dish? The menu says 3 eggs. To be more accurate they should have said 3 tiny little eggs. Zucchini? Tiny tiny little 1/3 cm. square pieces .... raw - just no taste. And then there were the overcooked mushy lukewarm home fried potatoes. Quite disappointing. We live in the Rosario area of Orcas island and we eat here multiple times year. We've ordered most of the things on the menu and have never been disappointed by the food or the service. The location is great over looking the boats in Cascade bay. Every once in awhile a sea plane lands and takes off a few hundred yards away. Close enough to get a look but not to close to be bothered by the noise of it taxiing to and from the dock. read more

We have a place in Rosario, so this is very convenient for our family and friends. The food is very good, especially the hangover burger, however the service is awful. If you are going to have a restaurant that is in a spot people come to, get enough servers. Have the food come out at the same time and don't make children wait until the adults finish their food to be served. read more

The best halibut and chips I've ever had! We were staying at the resort and ate here twice. My family also loved the chowder and steak salad. Pricy, but totally worth it. Great beer selection at the bar, too. Service was excellent, friendly and remembered your name. What is it with the Rosario and good service at the pools, hotel, and restaurants. Every other place we go on Orcas (if they even happen to be open on that particular day and time) has overworked, angry, and snippy service. read more
