    Tomato & Avocado Bennie

My wife and I were hungry and short on time. Luckily we stumbled upon Cafe Aurora where we were able to quickly order and sit down. The service very friendly and fast. I had the tomato and avocado Bennie and my wife had the classic breakfast. We both loved our food and the fact that they serve tots instead of your standard house potatoes. Needless to say we were soon on our way with full bellies.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, and we weren't disappointed! It was a busy bustling place, but they got us seated within about 15-20 minutes. This is an order-at-the-counter restaurant and get your own water, which I appreciate. I ordered the "one of us", which was a chicken and avocado ceasar wrap! Sooo good! My husband ordered "the Jenny". He scarfed it down too! Everything is fresh and homemade! The tater tots were hot and well seasoned too! Everyone was super friendly and the space was casual and comfortable. We would definitely come back and try other items on the menu in the future!

10s across the board! I came to Cafe Aurora with my family at opening time and we had a great experience here. The entire staff welcomed us to their cozy restaurant. All five of us for the most part tried something different: the classic breakfast, avocado toast, avocado and tomato benedict, and the banana foster waffles. The woman who took our orders at the front was very nice and patient with our large order. My grandpa and I got some coffees as well; he had mentioned to one of the young staff members that the coffee was cold and soon enough the brought a new hot cup over to him which was very considerate. The food came out quick and was so good! My waffles were to die for! Definitely for the people who love to have a sweet breakfast. My grandpa very pleased with his eggs benedict. I was able to see it on his face that this was a great eggs benedict. The rest of my family had good things to say about their breakfast as well! I would definitely come back here again as the staff was incredibly helpful and sweet and the food as amazing!

New cafe in town that just opened with phenomenal food!!! Awesome chef and great people work here. Vegan options and great cocktails. I had the Traditional Breakfast with bacon and their homemade sausage patty. Highly recommend.

Had breakfast and it was delicious. Perfectly scrambled eggs, very good sausage, tots tasted like hash browns. Cozy little place.

Stopped here a few times in the last week while vacationing on Orcas Island. Had a great talk with David during one of our visits. Have us lots of recommendations for bakeries down in SF and near Santa Rosa where we're from. A must stop if visiting Orcas.

I was excited to visit Eastsound and did some research on the current food vibe. Being a caterer/baker myself I was super excited to check out Brown Bear Baking and "treat" our group to some of their bakes. Sadly we were pretty disappointed in 2/3 of our purchases. First of all, the sticky bun was underbaked, doughy with no spring to the roll. I will say that their "sticky" was delicious. On the other end of the spectrum the blueberry peach almond coffee cake was burnt and extremely dry. My daughter did enjoy her peanut butter cream filled sandwich cookie so, points for that. What makes me sad is that I am not sure when I will get a chance to return to see if it was an off day for them and also, food prices are SO high it is disappointing to basically throw away $15 worth of food. Lastly, I am not sure what it is...but what happened to "service with a smile"?....it seemed lacking at most of the places we patronized yesterday.

Once seated, we had to ask the hostess for silverware. Started w the grilled asparagus ($25) - tasty sauce of garlic scapes, topped with pretty purple flowers that added no flavor. Good flavor, but for 6 stalks this was kinda insane. Scallop crudo ($30) was disappointing - scallop was minimal, very overwhelmed by the rhubarb. Would have expected the ratio to be balanced. Beautiful dish, no less, but this should have been called a rhubarb crudo to accurately reflect the dish. Again, insanely low volume of food. For pizzas, we got the poh-tay-toh ($28) and Gus Gus ($27 - asparagus, green garlic, tarragon, mozzarella, parm). These were more redeeming than the apps, tasty, but not ground shattering. Understandably the "ambiance" was expected since did not have reservations, but even then, the exterior was dusty and we did not feel the staff was present. Outdoor restroom was a step up from a hiking trailhead bathroom. The establishment inside is very nice so YMMV, but our experience was less than stellar. Overall, disappointed by the experience. Pizza was good, but extremely meager portions for the appetizers. It seems the focus of each dish was appearance rather flavor.
