Good sandwiches, prompt service, nice staff ... you will need to find a place to enjoy your sandwich but there are plenty of beautiful views all over San Juan Island, complimentary of our good Lord Almighty *Dear Yelp, here are a few more sentences for the people who enjoy reading reviews rather than getting outside & experiencing what this world has to offer. Remember what life was like before yelp? We just went places 'cause they looked cool, tried restaurants 'cause they looked nice or someone recommended it... but now, most of us go on Yelp. Why? To read novel length reviews from wannabe journalists? Or are you like me: I just want to look at the menu before hand, check out the prices, & know if I'll get food poisoning or not. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh

Spring Street Deli was pretty good! The service: I came in when it was busy, so it took longer than I anticipated to get my food. The employees were so helpful and kind, though. The food: The employees make all the sandwiches by hand, customized by what you want in it. There's slips of paper on which you can circle what ingredients/type of bread/sauces you want and just give it to them at the checkout. Mine was made exactly as I ordered it, so kudos for that! The environment: It's a small sandwich shop, but not too crowded. It's a cute little restaurant. There's no tables or chairs, so all the food is to-go. Final thoughts: Spring Street Deli was a really cute place. However, I think next time I'll just make myself a sandwich at home, because it takes all the same ingredients but less time to make at home. This is a perfect place to stop for food while traveling, but besides that, it's not entirely worth it.

The Italian sub was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Great service and came out pretty quick. Loved everything about the place. Definitely recommend

Spicy Beefcake Sanwich! Great sandwich, friendly staff and quaint harbor aesthetic. Prices are reasonable, helpings are huge! We got our sandwich warmed on the panini press!

Always very high quality and fresh sandwiches from this deli - they're good people. I'd definitely recommend them! They do the job right!

Picked up some sandwiches for a picnic and they were awesome. I got the classic grinder and it was fabulous. Parking can be a challenge. Check it out.

Grabbed Sammies for the fam after getting off the ferry from Anacortes. The shop has great ratings, and I can see why. They catered to our picky eater of a daughter but didn't embarrass her at all, which was so sweet. We walked to the waterfront and ate at a picnic table. They also offer custom Sammies, ice cream, wine, beer and other drinks as well as chippies. Ambiance: funky and cute. No inside tables. There are some in the atrium but it's a close walk to the waterfront. Order: BLP 5/5: bacon jam, fresh hoagie, spinach, bacon, hot peppers, havarti. GET THIS! It was so delic and totally crave worthy. It is rich, so I ate half for lunch and half as a car snack 2 hours later. Spicy beefcake 4/5: my husband gave it 5/5 but I would say 4/5 only because it was low key hot IMO. BUT OMG delic as well. I think my little had a French bread sammie with turkey, provolone and lettuce and said it was really good and fresh. Everything was hand made and fresh and bright. I would highly suggest this for a pack lunch while you tour the island or sitting in the car waiting for the ferry on your way back

Dropped by to grab lunch before visiting other places on the island. Wasn't busy but I came during the off season. The sandwich was really good, I really enjoyed how fresh the veggies were and also how everything in the sandwich goes well together. No tables inside the location so it was nice to grab it and eat somewhere else.

The Classic Grinder & Potato Salad
    Jeff H.

Enjoyed "The Classic Grinder". While I was expecting a hot, pizza like sandwich due to the "grinder" nomenclature, I received a nicely put together cold deli sandwich. The cost was about $10 and the sandwich was huge. Potato salad was about $3. I could only eat half the sandwich and had leftovers, great value. The potato salad was excellent and creamy as well. Staff were friendly and spoke loudly calling names so I didn't miss my order being called. Pro Tip: get your sandwich to-go and walk to the marina just North of Downriggers. There are covered picnic tables and an awesome view of the water.

I'm not even a sandwich person but this place was so good. Tates Cuban was delicious and the salt/pepper chips complimented it well. Cute place on the island, grab your sandwich and sit by the water.

Great sandwiches. Be prepared for a wait, because they are so popular, but it's the pride you pay for great service and quality ingredients.

Each pastry was great but the highlight was the berry cheese danish. We also really liked how the apple danish wasn't extremely sweet and the texture of the carrot cake muffin. The bakery also has coffee and pizza available, but we didn't try any of that. Seating wise, there's both indoor and outdoor seating available for guests and water on tap. The ordering process was smooth but we sat, bussed, and served ourself which was fine.

Very impressive little store full of tons of stuff! Groceries, pantry staples, a small produce section, some premade deli food and cookies. I was looking for the bakery items. A previous review mentioned delicious homemade pastries. Finally as I choose a cookie and a salad for later I see them. A small pedestal plate with pastries. And on the countertop behind the register tons of croissants! I said, there they are! The two ladies working were not impressed. I asked for the flavors and the lady said, there is a menu right there. Ugh, not fully awake I realized a line had formed behind me. This is the spot to go before getting in a ferry. The sign was not clearly visible and I felt overwhelmed with the decision so I quickly decided on a raspberry almond. This is clearly a place for locals. Everyone knows what they want and where it is. Not super friendly vibes, but oh well. Took photos of my purchases back in my gorgeous villa LOL, watch for my next review. Super happy to discover this market! And I love a good market! Happy travels. SYOY!
