Pain au chocolat, raspberry scone and a 16 oz Latte.

Visiting San Juan for the day. Early start needed a pick me up. Split a raspberry scone and a pain au chocolat with my wife. Both very good. We both had lattes which hit the spot. Servers were friendly and recommend the quiche which we bought to have breakfast at our hotel the next few mornings. Inside was well maintained and as a beautiful inside and outside seating areas. This morning was a sit inside sort of day being it was 41 degrees when we got here.

First time coming here today and loved it! Came here to pick up a loaf of bread and had to get something else when we came in and saw all the treats they had. Got here around 1pm on a Friday so they didn't have everything but still had a decent amount of pastries and cakes! Ended up getting the mushroom pizza and loved it! It was flavorful and loved the crust. It was $7-8 for a slice but it's a quarter of the pizza so you get your moneys worth! Not pictured but the sourdough we got was yummy as well and not too expensive. We were able to place a pick up order for the bread over the phone. The space is big with lots of seats and the staff is super friendly. I'll definitely come back next time I'm on the island to try some of their sweets!

During a day trip to San Juan island we stopped at San Juan Bakery for a quick lunch. We had pizzas (pesto margarita, cheese, and mushrooms and onions). All were great. We specially loved the mushroom and onions one! We tried the Apple, pecan and lime tarts. The lime tart was really delicious! We also had coffee (cappuccino and cortado). They were very good!

This was my husband's favorite place on SJI! We ordered a berry scone and a slice of pizza to share and were blown away by the quality and taste of both. The pizza is uniquely delicious- thin crust and crunchy without being hard. I wish we ordered more, everything looked SO good!

Amazing -- everything. Best almond croissants anywhere. Better than the ones I had in Paris.

We enjoyed the scone and cheese roll. You have to get there early since the best breakfast pasties sell out.

THE ROSES: Located a block off the main drag in Friday Harbor, VGP is situated in a cozy, peaceful space. On nice days I highly recommend dining in the garden space out back. The salads and pizzas are excellent; they only do a relatively thin crust pizza, but it is done perfectly, and the toppings are of excellent quality. They have a very good selection of pizzas on offer; all the 'usual suspects', and a very creative selection of their own concoctions. For the GF crowd, they also offer a very nice 10" GF crust. Very good selection of wines, ciders, and beers (both bottle and tap). The staff is truly delightful; friendly and very efficient. They really leave you feeling that they appreciate your business. THE THORNS: The menu seems a little limited in that it appears to be just pizza and salads, but I think I'd rather dine in a place that does a few things really well rather than one that has a menu that's 'A jack of all trades but master of none'. THE VERDICT: Van Go's Pizza is a real standout on the Friday Harbor casual dining scene. It definitely worth the short walk up from the ferry landing and away from the tourist traps. Highly recommend!

Our party of three visited for lunch at noon on a Thursday. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately at a lovely table right by the window. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were incredibly courteous and friendly throughout our meal. We initially thought about starting with some small plates, but we were so eager for seafood that we jumped straight into the entrees. We weren't disappointed: Bouillabaisse: This was our first time trying this dish, and it was the highlight for us. It was incredibly flavorful--exactly what we were craving. Spicy Prawn Mac and Cheese: It definitely lived up to its name! It wasn't "blow-your-head-off" hot, but it had a perfect, noticeable kick that really elevated the dish. Blackened Cod Tacos: These were fantastic. The cod was perfectly prepared and worked so well with the rest of the taco ingredients. We also enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic drinks that hit the spot, though I'll admit that since I'm writing this a couple of weeks later, I forgot to snag photos or the specific names of the drinks! They also have a really nice patio area if you prefer dining outdoors. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a great meal with a view, this place is a must-visit!

For the nature of the restaurant, we had hoped for our waitress to be more friendly and genuine. However, it felt like they just wanted to fulfill our order and be done. I ordered the South Sound Clams and Snapper Sandwich. Bathing in an umami-packed and rich Thai curry broth, the clams were tender and fresh with a bit of brine. Very good and shareable with one other person. The snapper sandwich wowed me! The bright escovitch and creamy avocado paired wonderfully with the snapper. Every bite was delightful. The house-made potato chips, however, were disappointing. They were thin, not crispy, and sticking to my teeth. If you can, substitute for fries or salad. Despite our subpar service, the delicious, well-priced food and beautiful scenery still make this the perfect date spot.
