3 egg scramble with spinach n mushroom (breakfast burrito in background). Homestyle potatoes are the bomb.

Just-discovered, but now will be one of my San Juan Island go-to's. Awesome egg breakfasts cooked just how you want -- we couldn't even finish our chubby breakfast burrito--- with super service, a funky, rustic, no-frills layout and just great all- around energy inside, and lots of hustle. Three egg scramble came out just the way I like it, and home style potatoes on the side were the perfect complement. It's pretty small though, so there's usually a wait; there are a couple of tables outside on the sidewalk. Love love love.

Strong robust coffee, good stick to your ribs breakfast and good playlist on 70-90's music. Love they offer a big breakfast menu with dishes like chili relleno omelette and chilaquiles. Our veggie omelette, potatoes and English muffin were hearty and yummy. Will be sure to come every am on our next visit to SJI. Great locals diner vibe! The server was great!

I LOVED this breakfast/lunch spot (serve breakfast only till 11 so wait on that BLT, girl!)! I am still thinking about that bacon I also wrapped up the leftover pancake for a boat snack, so it was that good and I'm not usually about that pancake life! Make a stop here, it's worth it for the nice and welcoming team who fill your belly!

My husband is a delivery driver and this is our go to spot every time in town. Unfortunately after this morning, we may not be coming back. Upon entering the woman of service in the front was rude, unwelcoming and overall very inconvenienced with entry. It took a little over an hour to receive any word or food after ordering when seated, but since the ferry was close by food was taken to go. When sharing the breakfast burrito with my husband, we found two hairs. One being a long black grey rooted straight hair in the eggs & the next a facial hair or small hair within the onion bit. It was really unfortunate and disappointing as we both looked forward to our morning and service & quality were both not there. I know every day isn't a winner but when there is no saving grace to the experience or visit, it's hard to justify coming back.

This was a breakfast place recommended to us by a few people, so we stopped by our first morning there and I think it was very good! I got the chicken fried steak and it comes with eggs and potato hash. The steak was cooked very well, super crispy and juicy. And the gravy on top was excellent as well. The hash was also very crispy and tasty, but in my opinion could have been seasoned a bit more. Overall I really liked it here and would recommend it to others!

Service was OK but very nonchalant. And could've been more attentive. Food was really bland and overpriced. The variety was nice but it set up some unreasonable expectations on my end. The tables were really crowded next to each other and the music selection was good.

Great breakfast or brunch place! Came here after getting off the ferry and had a delicious breakfast burrito. If you like your food with a kick, they have a large selection of hot sauces. Service was decently fast but the place is small. So if you come with a large group you might need to sit at two different tables.

Very busy location, be prepared to have long wait during high tourist seasons. The staff are friendly and portion sizes average

The food was really good! We liked the fried chicken sausage gravy. This place is in Friday harbor downtown, perfect for a brunch and then some shopping

Upon a local recommendation, we went to Rocky Bay Café for breakfast. It was busy, but they took our phone number and called when our table was available Thankful it was a gorgeous day so we walked around town just a bit before we were seated. It's not an extravagant place by any means, but the folks working there were just wonderful. Our coffee cup was always filled and the kitchen created a breakfast that was the best we've had on our trip so far! I had the senior egg platter and my husband had the French toast which was supposedly one of their specialties. I got a bite and it was scrumptious. Definitely a go to - just realize you may have to wait.

We ordered a few lattes made with their in-house syrups, and every single one of them was incredible. We loved them so much we went back for them again and again over the weekend we were there. We also tried their chorizo burrito and donuts, which were both outstanding. I honestly want to go back to the island just to eat here again! The ambiance of the place is awesome. It is super kid-friendly outside, featuring a wonderful yard with plenty of toys and things to do, which makes it incredibly relaxing for families. To top it all off, the staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visits. I highly, highly recommend checking out Medio Cafe if you are anywhere near the San Juan Islands. It was so good, and it's an absolute must-visit spot that we will definitely keep coming back to!

The restaurant is walkable from Friday Harbor. We went straight there right after we got off the ferry. There's also a cute little patio to sit on. What a great time!

We stopped by Leaven for breakfast one morning on our trip getting a savory crêpe each and a couple pastries. Didn't even make it though breakfast before we knew we had to do a repeat the very next day because it was so good. Crepes are French style and are clearly made with skill and talent. The space is bright and cheery with very friendly staff. I see other reviews mentioning waits during busy times or complaints but experienced nothing of the sort. We were a bit off peak and didn't have that issue but I can honestly say I'd be HAPPY to wait for the food at Leaven. This is really something special and whoever is behind it has a gift.

Our party of three visited for lunch at noon on a Thursday. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately at a lovely table right by the window. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were incredibly courteous and friendly throughout our meal. We initially thought about starting with some small plates, but we were so eager for seafood that we jumped straight into the entrees. We weren't disappointed: Bouillabaisse: This was our first time trying this dish, and it was the highlight for us. It was incredibly flavorful--exactly what we were craving. Spicy Prawn Mac and Cheese: It definitely lived up to its name! It wasn't "blow-your-head-off" hot, but it had a perfect, noticeable kick that really elevated the dish. Blackened Cod Tacos: These were fantastic. The cod was perfectly prepared and worked so well with the rest of the taco ingredients. We also enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic drinks that hit the spot, though I'll admit that since I'm writing this a couple of weeks later, I forgot to snag photos or the specific names of the drinks! They also have a really nice patio area if you prefer dining outdoors. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a great meal with a view, this place is a must-visit!
