    Tuna melt

A great deli style lunch spot! The tuna melt was flavorful and delicious - an elevated and refined version of what you would make at home! Great outdoor seating, and indoor seating too f you want.

Five stars. Well deserved. We stopped in for a snack. They have ice cream and baked goods but we got broccoli salad, watermelon and a cucumber salad. They were all super good and fresh. I know - getting fired up about roasted broccoli but it was seriously good. You can sit inside or outside. Beer and wine on site. Enjoy.

    yummy spring food

This is the most delicious, classic but modern food on the island with a home-cooked feel to it. The restaurant itself is beautiful and warm, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Seriously, the food tastes like home and is so yummy. This place is a ten out of ten; you have to try it!

    Delicious!

What a gem of a find! In the 40+ years I've been visiting Orcas this is the best meal I've had on in the islands. Thoughtful recipes for veggies and salads, and excellent entrees. Cute indoor and beautiful outdoor patio or lawn seating among the pines. Great coffee too.

Good food but there could be more variety of meats, pates, olives and the like. None the less it's nice to have it here on the Island!

If you're on orcas it's a must visit. I definitely will be back if I'm ever on the island again but this meal was so good I'm debating making a special trip just to experience houlme again.

Once seated, we had to ask the hostess for silverware. Started w the grilled asparagus ($25) - tasty sauce of garlic scapes, topped with pretty purple flowers that added no flavor. Good flavor, but for 6 stalks this was kinda insane. Scallop crudo ($30) was disappointing - scallop was minimal, very overwhelmed by the rhubarb. Would have expected the ratio to be balanced. Beautiful dish, no less, but this should have been called a rhubarb crudo to accurately reflect the dish. Again, insanely low volume of food. For pizzas, we got the poh-tay-toh ($28) and Gus Gus ($27 - asparagus, green garlic, tarragon, mozzarella, parm). These were more redeeming than the apps, tasty, but not ground shattering. Understandably the "ambiance" was expected since did not have reservations, but even then, the exterior was dusty and we did not feel the staff was present. Outdoor restroom was a step up from a hiking trailhead bathroom. The establishment inside is very nice so YMMV, but our experience was less than stellar. Overall, disappointed by the experience. Pizza was good, but extremely meager portions for the appetizers. It seems the focus of each dish was appearance rather flavor.

Had high expectations that didn't deliver…read more My girlfriend and I came to stay the night on Orcas Island, and this was the first restaurant we tried. Having made reservations beforehand, we were really excited to try this place out. The servers who greeted us were really nice. The restaurant had a beautiful dark interior that gave off a cozy steakhouse vibe. They even offered to take my coat, how nice of them! Despite the hospitality, the food did not really live up to expectations. I got the birria, and while it was okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price I paid. My girlfriend's scallop crudel was almost as pricey and it did not even fill her up. I believe the bill for our whole meal (including a mocktail) was over $80. This was definitely not worth the price point paid for, considering that we were not fully satisfied with that meal. Regardless, many thanks to the Monti staff for having us.

First visit and I'm smitten. Great decor and service, but the meal really distinguished itself…read more First course was a fennel shaved salad with exceptional flavor - don't be dissuaded by the reference to anchovy dressing - it works magnificently and nothing overpowers. The chicken liver with summer tomatoes was magnificent, even if they needed an extra slice of sourdough to finish the plate. The star was the roasted pork belly. I've had many in my day but this was the crown jewel of belly's - succulent, tender inside and crispy edges, and the flavor was off the chart delicious. Rigatoni with lamb did not disappoint and pasta was cooked to perfection. Saved room for chocolate mousse and it was excellent and not too sweet. Wine pairings supported the wonderful meal. I look forward to returning and trying all the dishes we didn't select. This place has it over Rosario and Madrona. Your wallet will be lighter but not unreasonably so.
