It was just me and I'd been really struggling to find something to eat on orcas that wasn't more clams, fish&chips, etc. I got there RIGHT before their busy time so he was able to accommodate me. I sat at a single top, top deck and he turned on the heat for me. He recommended an EXCELLENT glass of red for me while I perused the menu. I QUICKLY found a hidden gem......the BEEF CARPACCIO! I said, "any way to get that to go?" It's just me. I don't mind lunch by myself, but dinners are a hot stop for me. He thoughtful said "we don't usually, but let me see what I can do" I loved my wine and my dinner came out promptly. As it has such a beautiful plated presentation, they didn't want to put it in a box. I got it home and it was DREAMY ! Irony is that I RARELY eat meat.....but everyone has an exception . ‍. The massive wooden furniture is impressive and surprisingly comfortable. This place has been loving restored and cared for. It was an absolute pleasure to be here and to sit on the veranda. The food was very average, although the Mansion Burger sounded amazing--maybe we just ordered wrong. The scallop/ halibut cake stole the show. I should have ordered two of those, along with the extraordinary Cole slaw ( best ever Coke slaw, imho). Sadly, we didn't stop at the scallibut cake, and the rest was disappointing; wedge salad, drowning in a watery blue cheese dressing, and overcooked lobster ravioli, served with four beautifully prepared scallops. I would return, but I'd order differently--just appetizers and skipping everything else. Drinks and scallibut cakes would make for a 4-5 star meal. The service, by the way, was just okay. She hadn't tried much of the menu, so she wasn't able to describe the dishes very well. She was great about checking on us and warning that the kitchen was slow (it was slow, but we loved taking our time and watching the sun set over the bay). Outdoor restroom was a step up from a hiking trailhead bathroom. The establishment inside is very nice so YMMV, but our experience was less than stellar. Overall, disappointed by the experience. Pizza was good, but extremely meager portions for the appetizers. It seems the focus of each dish was appearance rather flavor.

This is an elevated smoked salmon bagel. - Mushroom egg omelette - also incredibly delicious. The potatoes that came with it were also so delicious Highly recommend both breakfast entrees.
