This review is specifically for Rosario event staff and management. Few words describe the utter level of disappointment I've experienced with the event management at Rosario Village. I first contacted Rosario on May 2, 2023 about a wedding in 2024 (time-stamped email screenshots below, hopefully in chronological order). We were motivated to be as patient as possible to inquire about a wedding through the ambiguous sale as this place holds immense important to both of our families. Jolene was very kind and helpful despite the situation of the property's sale. She said they were not committing to any weddings until post-sale, as not to over-commit in the case that new ownership would not honor the date (which is totally fair!). I scheduled a call with the only wedding planner on the island (Cloud9 Events) who eventually became the event manager at Rosario. I scheduled the call on August 14th for September 6th - so I had waited a few weeks to chat before talking with any other planner. Nobody showed to the call which was disappointing. I simply emailed asking if they were still free to join - no response. I finally received a voicemail 1 month later, on October 3rd profusely apologizing. I couldn't see how I could trust this individual with executing the most important day. I dropped it, didn't respond; and proceeded to hire someone and paid for her to travel all the way from Spokane WA. I emailed Rosario up until February 2024 to see if there was any way of booking 09/07/2024. The resort sale had not happened yet. Sunday, December 24th 2023, my mother-in-law graciously gifted us two nights at the Roundhouse suite for our wedding night and day before so we could at least spend some time there. We then contacted Rosario for photo permission in April on our wedding day, as it was important to us to simply get photos at such a special place. Per screenshots, Jolene advised we get in touch with new management, which we did - and we were granted permission. Finally, after the sale, Olivia from Cloud9 (the now new wedding planner at Rosario) reached out to me for a consultation in April. I don't believe she realized that I was giving her a second chance at this point. During the call, she could not provide a ballpark estimation of costs for a wedding at Rosario after asking if we'd be willing to forfeit out of our other venues' contract and move our wedding (I had sent invites at this point). She said by June 1st she'd have an answer and get back to me. She also said we'd be subjected to a "photo fee" despite having the Roundhouse suite booked on the property. We were willing to pay this but received no further communication about the fee or fee amount. She then said another couple already had a soft hold on our date. I am deeply curious to know who was in contact with Rosario prior to May 2023 about this date. On June 6th I emailed asking for an update. Nick Knoellinger said someone else booked the resort that day and mentioned nothing about photos. Am I surprised by the low quality of communication and transparency, considering my first impression in September? No. Fast forward to our wedding day. Amidst photos with my parents at 11:30 AM on some lawn overlooking the water, at Rosario, a strange man aggressively approached us and said "there's a wedding here today and we've reserved the entire property. You cannot take photos here". I fully expected a face full of horse crap and took the high hill and walked away. Thankfully we had plenty of other photo options. My parents were deeply saddened and raised the point, "we have the roundhouse reserved on the property, and we can move if this isn't a good spot". He responded and said that he left a "detailed voicemail" saying we weren't aloud to have photos here. I protested as I've received no such voicemail. He then asked if I was "Julie" (my mother-in-law) and I said no. He claimed he called her. I notified my MIL and she immediately called Rosario Resort explaining the situation, and that she'd received NO CONTACT from this guy (he did not say his name). The resort responded surprisingly and said "we have no idea who that man was and he should not have told you that you aren't aloud to take photos because that's not right, you are guests on the property". Then -- my MIL notified me that she had received a creepy call demanding payment over the phone for the Roundhouse from someone claiming to be from Rosario Resort; and they said she had not paid. She paid nearly $1K in full, December 24th 2023, per screenshot below. I advised it was most likely a scam call. I will continue to support Rosario Resort. As any local, I only want to see this place prosper and succeed to its fullest capability. We would've been more than happy to collaborate on a photo location plan had communication and expectations been managed properly. I'm simply sharing my horrible experience to hopefully save someone from loss of brain cells and massive disappointment.

I'm not even sure where to begin, I will start by saying we have visited Rosario Resort for many years now and we loved it. Great staff/management and excellent customer service satisfaction. Which is what kept us coming back along side the spectacular views. But now they have new management and it's a complete mess in so many ways. No management on site so if you have any issues you can't get it resolved in person. And the WiFi is completely useless unlike before it worked great. If you need to make a call or receive messages you have to drive into town. Our room was not ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen trash cans were full to the brim with dirty trash from the previous guest. Filthy sponges and dishes. Salt and pepper shakers were empty. Bath robes from the previous guests were used and on the floor in the closet also hair in the tub. I'm guessing housekeeping doesn't care what kind of job they do because no management on site so they can get away with it. I see this is a reoccurring issue since new management took over. I see in the reviews. I provided pictures. I sure hope management gets it together

Disappointing Experience; Departed Early We chose Rosario Resort for our final boating stop before returning home. The marina is small but clean and adequate (Note: all metal docks), and a deckhand cheerfully greeted us upon arrival to assist with dock lines. The resort's grounds seemed tired but with extraordinary views of the surrounding island and East Sound. The large lawn areas had plenty of very nice Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, croquet set and tether ball. Bags of Ice were complimentary as were the showers. We were told smaller slips our boat's size were all rented so were placed in a larger one and charged commensurately. But the marina was less than half full during our stay, and we were charged more for the larger one. Moreover, the showers had no hot water at our arrival, and the bathrooms did not appear to have been serviced recently. The restaurant seemed to be going for a pretty decent Mexican cantina vibe (Mariachi music playing, Spanish-speaking staff), but oddly offered only American sandwiches and pizza. The bartender did not speak English. It's unclear whether pets are welcome, as signs noted state law prohibiting pets indoors; yet local staff told us our large dog was welcome inside. We appreciate they are undergoing a material renovation, but to charge nearly $100/night for a 26' boat while offering mediocre services represents poor value. We requested a refund for our second night, but received only the lower amount for the smaller slip we wanted but did not get.

Amazing views from our suite...big,spacious and clean units. The mansion and the restaurant is under renovation when we stayed so there's only one restaurant that is open and their menu is limited.Called the customer service and asked if we can cook in our suite reservation,he told us that there are no available cooking wares and we have to provide on our own but when we got to our unit......the kitchen is complete with everything including pots, plates, glasses and utensils.I was misinformed.Hopefully when we come back, they have more food options.

Dirty towel from wiping bathroom floor.

Harborview suite Cons We arrived and could tell the carpets had not been vacuumed and the floors in the bathroom and kitchen had not been washed. Very gross. Pictures included are of towel after wiping floors and garbage on carpet as well as dirt stains on carpets. CO2 detector was unplugged and left on The heat vent. Pros- great view from inside room to the harbour. The bathrooms had been remodeled. Great deck views and comfy chairs on the deck. Had the floors been clean this most definitely would have been 5 stars.

This was our room that we were given! No staff around to help and crappy WiFi.

Worst business management ever. Our room was filthy when we got there. Took them 45 min to get us a new room. Talked to several people that were not happy with their rooms and devices. The staff said they were struggling.

This is how utensils are stored.

23xx Suites are very much used. No kettle, no soap bar for neither of the bathrooms, no bedding for the second bed. Kitchen furniture is sooooo old.

I recently had a chance to eat here during a boat trip. It was a great experience. We ate in the bar area and the staff was very professional and accommodating. Our waiter was energetic and had a great sense of humor. He happily addressed the numerous extra requests from our table. I was impressed with his people skills. I ordered a burger and fries because I was in the mood for comfort food. My burger was very good, but the fries were perfect. They may have been the best fries I've had ever. They were the perfect size and had a beautiful golden brown exterior. The inside of my fries were hot and perfectly fluffy. Bite after bite was mouthfuls of golden brown fluffy goodness. From now on, they are the fries by which all others will be judged.

Great stay, celebrating our anniversary, beautiful location, great grounds and marina. Rooms are good size, meager, but clean and comfortable. Coffee, microwave and fridge, which is great, clean shower with great water pressure. Restaurant and bar are nice, food is excellent. The staff was wonderful, especially Anika at the front desk, was very friendly, and helpful, her professionalism and sincerity made the stay even better! Highly recommend and we'll be back!

Popped in for a rainy Saturday breakfast.....not busy at all! Seated right away and Piper was our waitress, and was very attentive and the view made the food second hand....lol. Good value for the amount of food, will return for a evening cocktail in the lounge...

    Food found on the floor

The place is a run down nightmare with no onsite management and cleaning crews are sleep walking. We found filthy furniture surfaces, food everywhere, smears on windows, fixtures full of bugs, broken doors, dirty carpet, and moldy smells. See pics. The one bright spot is a remote manager Kay who refunded half of our overnight stay fee and allowed us to leave early with no fees on the other two nights we had booked. New ownership should never have opened up the buildings to rent out until a complete refurbishment had been accomplished. Harming the brand very badly. The new owners seem to be clueless.

I think I offended the hostess and waitress after having trouble with their "ring bell for service" bell. We waited a short time in the small entrance and noticed the bell.... Several light taps produced no sound and a more unreserved tap sounded like a fire alarm. The hostess and waitress arrived wide-eyed and I apologized and tried to make light of the awkward meeting... they weren't having it. We were there to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We stated that in our reservation and were given a half hearted "happy anniversary" after being seated in the middle of the dining room, without any view. Several couples after us were seated with views to the water. It was our first time there and we didn't know to ask... In any case, we loved the food when we finally got it - but it took over an hour and a half after ordering to receive our meal. The waitress, Countnee (name on receipt), couldn't have been less interested in serving us. I guess she never got over the bell incident??? She seemed overly nice to others... even comping a bottle of wine for the couple next to us. We didn't even get the short spiel about how the strawberries in the sorbet were grown in their garden.... she told other people, we heard her- but she couldn't be bothered to take the time with us. We spent a lot of money on what could have been an amazing celebratory dinner for our anniversary had the service been even a little better. Get over yourself and have a little fun. The hostess was wearing jeans, this shouldn't have had such a pretentious, snooty vibe. We had friends recommend dinner here and we were disappointed, will never be back. It's the next morning and I'm still wishing we had gone somewhere else. It was our 20th anniversary after all!!!

We had a slight snafu when checking in, the keys weren't in the Dropbox and we weren't able to get ahold of the owner right away. Over the summer my family and I came in for dinner. We didn't have reservations and had to wait in their cozy lounge area for a table to open up. We were lucky and snagged a window seat with the amazing view! I enjoyed my Old Fashioned, and was happy to see a couple vegan options clearly labeled on the menu. I went with the entree size of the Cauliflower ($22), which includes roasted tri-colored cauliflower, roasted pine nuts, dried apricots, and raisins over a citrus and spiced tahini coconut yogurt. While tasty, the entree size was more of a starter size, so I ended up getting some fries too. Yum! The fries were hot and the perfect thickness. We waited a while for the food, although this is expected on the island. With that said, enjoy your drink and have a snack before your visit if you tend to get hangry. Our waitress this time around was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience. I stopped in for a last minute dinner this fall after my dinner reservation at another restaurant was cancelled that day. Without a reservation our option for dining room seating for two people was 5:30 (a little early for me) or 8, so we took some snacks to the beach for the sunset before heading back for dinner. They did have lounge seating available but I wanted a table with a view (even though it was dark, ha). This time around I ordered a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, which was not my favorite, but drinkable. My entree was delicious though, making up for the wine. Even though it's not vegan, I made a vacation exception and went for the vegetarian Coconut Curry Vegetable Pot Pie ($30). That filling is so flavorful! I wish I could have a big bowl of just the filling, to be honest. Plus, the recipe of course. It included cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, kale, and peppers topped with puff pastry. Mmm. My companion seemed to enjoy his Ribeye enough. The host was friendly and helpful, and our server was pleasant enough. I'd happily come back again in the future, for both the ambiance and food.

I politely asked for another glass and was refused, despite being completely sober, weighing over 190 lbs, and standing 6 feet tall. There was no reasoning, no discussion -- just a flat-out refusal I can't serve you ar this time. The staff's tone? Cold at best, condescending at worst. If you value fair service, reasonable pours, and basic respect, I'd suggest you take your business elsewhere. Friendly staff? Not quite. Overpriced micro-pours and arbitrary limits discriminating absolutely. Cabins are cute but then that's the only little bar/ convenience store on the property so it really ruined the flavor of this cute place. You've been warned.
