4.5 stars. Stayed here overnight last week during a business trip. Not a lot of options on the island, especially ones that aren't old and/or haunted! I am so glad I found this place! Location cannot be beat. It is literally steps from the harbor, and you can step right off of your boat, the ferry or the seaplane. Check-in and quick and easy. I stayed in Sweet 1 which is the 1st room up the stairs. So convenient to going everywhere. Room is super spacious and everything was comfortable. Nice touch with the welcome fruit bowl. Bath was also spacious and toiletries were well-stocked and great quality (all Malin+Goetz!). Super close to restaurants, bars, and the town, where parking is difficult (so being able to walk was a big perk!). Only negatives (and they were very minor) were the missing water and coffeemaker in the room, and the difficulty in understanding the instructions for the shower head. read more

We stayed in penthouse seven, a perfect suite! Our one bedroom, two bath, full kitchen, living room two patios... Was more than the two of us needed but we really enjoyed it all. The washer and dryer, steam shower, dishwasher, fireplace, plush robes, sub zero fridge & freezer, powerful a/c , full gas range, delicious coffee .... The island in anticipated anything we could possibly want to or need, it doesn't get any better read more

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Island Inn several times for business over the last few months. I have enn The staff is exceptional; rooms are modern but functional and well-appointed. I have enjoyed every visit. I appreciate the secured parking, attentive staff, the music that is waiting for me when I get back from work...truly, they go above and beyond. They always go out of their way to accommodate me. I look forward to returning every time I do. Look forward to fresh fruit, chocolates, milk, OJ and coffee. Oh my! What a treat. Our stay in Penthouse 1 was lovely. The location is about as close to the harbor as you can get without actually being in the water. You can walk to anywhere you want to go in town. They had a garage with our reserved spot all set for us when we arrived. We grabbed lunch next door while waiting for our room to be set. It was worth the wait. Our room was massive with two floors, a full kitchen, living room, dining room, king bed and rooftop terrace. After a ho hum stay at our downtown hotel, I was ready for luxury and pampering and we got it. Malin and Goetz products in the bathrooms and I made the most of those. Steam shower in the master bath was ridiculous and I made certain to take full advantage of it during our stay. Simple pleasures. It was also nice to have a full size coffee machine that I set to have a pot waiting for us when we awoke. That would sadly be right about 5:30 each morning as the first ferry of the day loudly loaded. Since there is no AC, we slept with the windows open and dealt with it. Not a biggie. I don't go on vacation to spend the day in bed, but just something to be aware of when staying here. So cool to have this much room to spread out and enjoy. We spent many an afternoon on the terrace with a pint or chilling in the evening with Uncle Ike. Couldn't have asked for a better location and view. I loved watching the boats come and go and the last days of the Perseids on crystal clear nights. read more

First, I enjoy their play on words. It is deliberate and very cleaver. We stayed here for a short weekend get away. A post self isolating Covid days as things begin to reopen doors again. We booked on line and the entire process from booking through check out was very impressive, clean and friendly. They stayed in contact with me via email for updates on their Covid safe check in process and general information about our short stay. They even created a few very informative and cleaver videos to convey this process. We booked Sweet 1 (example of play on words). It was just perfect for us and had harbor front views. They do have several different room types. They have "Euro" rooms that share a common living area and kitchen, with a number of individual rooms connected that have its own sitting space and bathrooms. This would be good for a group of people that want to connect in the shared common space and then go off to your own rooms. Sweet 1 was full of interesting design elements. The bed linens...OMG awesome! I usually NEVER ever like hotel sheets even if it's the Four Seasons. I love my bamboo sheets which are like sleeping on uber soft 1000 thread count. It's literally all I have in my house. But these bed linens are so nice I found out what they were and purchased two sets on line before even checking out of the hotel. The location is walking distance to the ferry terminal. So if you don't want to take your car it is very easy to get around town on foot to some very good entries and shopping. If you want excellent breakfast go to Rocky Bay next to the theater. Yes, walking distance. However, we loved having our car because we spend most of one day driving completely around the island stopping at all the points of interests we could take in. I highly recommend Island Inn 123!!! Stayed here summer of 2016 and this is hands down my favorite hotel experience ever! Our room had a perfect view of the water with a huge comfortable bed. Perfectly located in Friday Harbor - able to walk to a bunch of restaurants, shops, and the whale museum. Only time we needed the car was when we visited Lime Kiln or had to meet somewhere for whale tours. We per-arranged a parking spot which I would recommend, just takes one more piece of worry off of your vacation. Bathrooms away from home are always hit or miss and this one was a hit! Big bathtub, huge sink and vanity. Perfect amount of space. And the in room shampoos and soaps were wonderful, all organic and sustainable, loved this touch. This was a honeymoon trip and they were nice enough to arrange a cheese plate and champagne to be waiting in the room for us. They called the day of our arrival to ensure what time we would be arriving and called a few hours later just to make sure our travel plans were still on schedule. During the booking process they helped us decipher which ferry to take and what time we should try to book. The in room coffee was fresh and not pre-packaged like most, I went through almost our entire provided stock. And everyone who worked at the Inn was pleasant and super helpful. My first visit to the west coast and they made me feel welcome and at home. I really would love to get back to Friday Harbor again someday and visit with Island Inn. read more

We stayed at this hotel for a quiet New Year's Eve a couple weeks ago. The price was good, the website is modern and tech-savvy, I honestly was expecting it to be just okay. But this place far exceeded my expectations and made me want to come back in the summer and stay there again! It's such a cute, modern, convenient, and really cost-efficient. So many hotels in Friday Harbor are waaay over-priced. I'm not one to over-indulge in a hotel unless I plan on getting spa services or have to stay in the room the entire time. Below are the areas we judged this hotel on. SERVICE: The receptionist called us the day before to confirm our online reservation and ask if we needed directions on how to take the ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. This was such a nice gesture; it's really the details that make a difference. When we arrived in Friday Harbor, it was earlier than check-in, but the receptionist said we could drop our items off in the lobby and she'd watch them. Check-in was quick and easy and she took our cell to call us when our room was ready because she knew it'd be ready early. Nice perk. ROOM: We did the virtual tour online, so we thought we had an idea of what to expect; we were pleasantly surprised! The bathroom had heated floors. Oh dear, I now cannot live without heated floors! There was a nice fruit/snack bowl waiting for us, anything in the mini-fridge was ours to drink. It's so nice to be at a place that doesn't nickel and dime you for everything. The bed was oh-so-comfortable and the pillows worked for my chronically sore neck. And the receptionist gave us a nice little book for food recommendations in the area. It was nice to have that and see the menus without having to leave. I use Yelp, but hey, it's the little things that count! LOCATION: It's RIGHT by the ferry; literally, 5 minute walk. Friday Harbor is small, so everything is close, but I loved seeing the ferry come and go from our floor-to-ceiling windows. It makes the ambiance feel so quaint. Next time, I want to stay in the pent house in the summer: they have their own patio. This place definitely has charm and is a great value! Don't hesitate when booking this place, it's well worth it! PS. We have some experience in Friday Harbor as we stayed at the Bird Rock Hotel a couple years ago and this place is far superior than the Bird Rock. Great hotel! Great staff! One of the only real modern style hotels on the island. It's clean, safe, simple, and practically right on the harbor...you can see the hotel as you arrive on the ferry. I would love to come back here if I am ever visiting Friday Harbor again. My sister, mom, dog, and I were here for 2 nights in August. We were all very pleased. We booked the Sweet 5 room, which is dog-friendly, and has its own patio/mini front yard area. The semi-private front yard area isn't big but it was enough for our little Maltese dog. There is also a small outdoor seating area where we enjoyed eating some snacks together. The hotel was thoughtful enough to provide our dog Lulu with cute little welcome gifts - dog treats, dog trash bags, lint roller, etc. How thoughtful! The room itself is fairly large. NOTE: we did not get a view from our room as it is one of the more private, dog frieindly rooms in the very back. It's like a studio - one big open space (except the bathroom of course, haha). It is just the right size for 3 people and a small dog. I think any more people/pets than that would be too cramped. The Sweet 5 contains 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, a small kitchenette, reading chair, small desk/eating area, a small flatscreen TV, full bathroom, etc. Overall, the room was quite clean. Fresh linens, towels, no weird stains or spots anywhere. The carpets are clean, but since the Sweet 5 is a pet-friendly room, it isn't "perfect." Understandable. It's a well-maintained room. I love that they serve fresh seasonal fruit, orange juice, milk, and oatmeal every morning. This is so much better than any sort of crappy "continental" breakfast you might find at other hotels or inns. The noise level is pretty low for this area of the hotel. You can still hear the blaring horns from the ferries time to time...and sometimes you can hear people gabbing as they go up or down the outdoor stairs...but it's really minimal. I slept well and was never annoyed.....Besides, for staying at such a prime location, that's a tiny price to pay. If you choose to park at the hotel, the hotel staff will write your last name on a reserved spot for you. Easy! The only issue I had with this room was the front door lock. It is SO hard to open and lock. OMG I feel arthritic pains just thinking about it. It was a struggle. After many tries, I got it down. But daaaang - no thanks to that! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who can appreciate clean, minimal/more modern style hotels. read more

Absolute cutest place on Friday Harbor. It's a few minutes from the ferry dock and you can walk to the museum and the rest of town. Five stars for the quality of service and the rooms. My boyfriend and I went to celebrate our anniversary and I wanted to surprise him with a fun little getaway. It was definitely worth it. I booked suite 5 and it was the perfect spot for us. The moment we checked in, the staff was on top of everything and since we were early, gave us a couple ideas to check out while we waited for the room to be ready. The parking spot in the garage was named for us. Adds that extra special welcome feel. In our suite... The kitchen is huge and has everything you need to cook some yummy meals. There's also ample space if you wanted to have a few people over to entertain. The bed - AMAZING. It was like sleeping on a cloud, nice ceiling fan and bathroom with built in sauna to relax. It's really close to everything and a quick drive to other places around the island. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway, girls trip, anniversary, birthday, whatever. It's worth it! read more

Service and location are fantastic. Even before arrival Matthew reached out to advise on plans and continued to offer an excellent guest experience throughout our stay. Taxi cab service can pickup right outside the Inn for convenient travel around the island. It's also walking distance from the pier if you're traveling via boat or seaplane. Great selection of food at varying price points within walking distance. Awesome lookout spot with a view of the harbor itself right at the top of the complex. We had particularly loud guests above us one night, the staff was extremely helpful stopping the noise. Also double checked and made sure that there wasn't any continued disruption. Combination of service, accessibility and accommodations here is awesome - highly recommend. read more

Stayed at Penthouse 7 for 5 nights. The room is amazing! It's like an apartment home in a hotel setting. Location is key... it's right on the Main Street that fronts Friday Harbor. We came by Sea Plane, walked from the dock, crossed a road and was right there at the hotel in less than 5min. Pretty cool! Bed was amazingly comfortable with fresh sheets. Towels are fluffy. Shower is also a sauna, which was sweet! Very modern and luxurious. Everything's news- they just went through a renovation to upgrade the place. Completely full kitchen with everything you need to cook in house. The only thing I wish they had was a washer and dryer. Also, you can tell they're just getting things together- devils in the details... fruit they leave out is a great touch, but when it's not fresh there's no point. Thanks for putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, but it makes no sense if you don't turn them on. So, details! But still, a great start!! read more

This 'hotel' is so cute! The set up is a little different so almost has the feeling of an apartment than an Inn. There were six of us that booked this place and four of us shared a large space with two bedrooms. We had a living room and each room had it's own bathroom. Very modern styled rooms with everything you would need in each, including an arrival fresh cut fruit bowl, granola, milk, coffee and a mini fridge. The bed was simple but comfy. The living room had a nice big fireplace and plenty of seating with some great huge windows that overlook the harbor. Our only dislike about everything would be the bathroom - absolutely no privacy if there is anyone else in the bedroom. The shower itself is cute with it being all tile made to resemble a pool but the sliding glass door is just not helpful. Anyway easy to walk around to some great restaurants and bars in the area. read more

Stayed in Sept 2017, in a Euro Room. Staff was so helpful, calling us the morning of our stay and asking if we needed help to get on the island, offered suggestions for dining, sights etc. When we checked in, they made us feel like we were VIPs of the hotel. Even the cleaning staff greeted us warmly! The room is modern, with a great mix of building materials, concrete, frosted glass, wood and nice linens, sheets and towels. The bed is a bit soft for our liking, but was still very nice. The high ceilings and really neat ceiling fan gives the room a very large feeling. All of the big windows do have shades, so its nice for sleeping without the light from the outdoor walkways in your face. The bathroom has very nice accoutrements, robes, nice towels and very nice soaps, shampoos and lotions. Shower water pressure was a little lower than normal, but that may be an island issue, not a hotel issue. Regardless, a nice bathroom! The exhaust fan is motion detected, a nice touch, but the grating for the vent was a little dusty. A well equipped coffee bar/fridge area, stocked with Steel cut oats, some fruit and some milk and juice in the fridge. Very thoughtful! Hotel is near a bunch of local restaurants and bars, and quite safe. I'd love to stay again, and maybe try out a Penthouse next time! TIP: If you're going to drive, call ahead and ask them to hold a parking spot for you, as they only have 8 spaces in their garage. read more

Close to great restaurants (Cask & Schooner is delicious) with rooftop decks for the penthouse rooms and a fireplace for my puppy to snuggle up to. Very nice place to stay at. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is large, modern, very clean, lots of natural light and most of them have a water view. Nice complimentary addition is fresh fruits and good coffee. It was my birthday on the day arrived to the hotel. The hotel staff didn't know about it as room was reserved under the somebody else name. During check in I had mentioned that it's my birthday today. Diana, the receptionist told us to wait just for a few minutes in the lobby stated: "We simply need to do a last touch in the room. It wouldn't involve more than 10 minutes". When we eventually came to the room, we were really surprised to see a birthday card and a little gift along with that. How sweet and thoughtful is that? A bunch of places around to dine out. Preserve it in mind that if you will parking your car in the hotel garage there is a fee for that. read more

Perfectly situated right in the harbor but beware - the walls are paper thin! We unfortunately were woken up on a Saturday night 1am by a man and woman arguing back and forth non stop. They were in the room next to us (my husband and I had the Euro Sweet 3) but it sounded like they were in the same room as us. That's how thin the walls are. You can hear everything. Oh and the man's cellphone rang all night long. It went on for about 3 hours but the next early morning, the woman was on her phone telling someone the incident from last night. Ugh! It was a restless night for me and my husband needless to say. Most importantly, we advised the staff at checkout but they didn't seem all that concerned and offered nothing more than a 'sorry about that' as she asked us if we wanted a printed or emailed receipt. We are planning on visiting Friday Harbor this summer but we will stay elsewhere. read more

Stayed here for our anniversary. We had high expectations, but those were all blown away. We stayed in penthouse 5, and it was phenomenal. The place was immaculately clean. All amenities were extremely high quality. If you want to go out, you're within walking distance of everything in Friday Harbor ... if you want to stay in, the kitchen has everything a pro chef would need ... even down to the sub zero fridge. I don't think that's too common for hotels. This place actually enhanced the fun we had in Friday Harbor. Highly recommended. read more

My husband took me to The Island Inn at 123 west to explore San Juan Island for my birthday. Due to missing our ferry, our arrival time was really late, almost 1am. The front desk staff was very friendly and had no problem waiting for us to arrive to make sure we got situated comfortably. We stayed in suite 5, and our dogs loved it! There were 2 large dog beds, 2 sets of food/water bowls, dog treats etc. my husband informed me it was hard to find a place that accommodates dogs, so this was a huge plus for us! The room was spacious, clean and we loved all the natural light beaming in from the wall of windows. We also loved the fresh fruit and granola. What was really special to me, was the staff left a birthday surprise for when we came back to our room. A cute card signed by their team, a bar or chocolate, fresh flowers, and a cute little music box. Talk about going above and beyond, I felt very special! I definitely recommend staying here, the location is perfect for the ferry and walking distance from plenty of shops, restaurants and the farmers market. read more

Tip 1: Opt for the parking garage fee if you take your car. It's worth it once you see the parking situation on the island. Tip 2: Hit happy hour at the Friday Harbor House (next to 123West). It's great and we ate dinner and had drinks for $30 including tax and tip! If you have read the other reviews, which you should, you'll see once you stay here that the accolades are all legit. In fact, I chose this place for our 10 year anniversary based on the reviews, the modern style, great phone service, and excellent website. I really couldn't swing the penthouse pricing (as much as I wanted to), so we took a chance and went for Euro 4 in hopes that we would experience 123West's famous upgrade-if-available policy. Boy did we ever! They put us in Penthouse 5, which was unbelievable! To top it all off, the weather was PERFECT that fine weekend in May. I mean, we really scored. Everything was wonderful. I can think of NOTHING I would do differently. The ONLY nitpicky thing I can think of is that there's kind of a strange "door to nowhere" off the kitchen. It just opens to a really small, barely one person "balcony." The only thing I can think of is that this was for fire code purposes. Whatever - it really doesn't matter. Don't hesitate to spend a little extra to stay somewhere hip and cool. It really is worth it. For just a bit more money you can avoid the decor preferences of your grandma or perhaps the Trinity Broadcasting Network (giant gold chairs and junk) and instead enjoy a euro, modern, hip and cool place like this. This place is truly amazing. I hate to write a review on it because I fear that it will get booked solid for the next 5 years with every great review. But you know what? That's okay, the staff and owners deserve it. I hope this place THRIVES and others realize that not every Bed & Breakfast type place has to have flea market decor and smell like dog. I just had to submit a review for The Island Inn. My wife and I splurged and got a Penthouse overlooking the ocean. First off, the location is wonderful. It's right at the Harbor by the ferry dock, so you can just walk around the small downtown at your leisure. And as for the property, it is fantastic. Upscale without being stuffy. Everything is modern, but comfortable. The beds were amazing. I can't speak for the other rooms, but Penthouse 2 had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, two baths, and a private rooftop deck (private in the sense that it was just ours - it actually didn't afford much privacy however). All the amenities are at your disposal. Plus, if you haven't been to San Juan Island, you're in for a nice treat. It's a beautiful place. We took our two kids on some very long hikes, and they loved it. We also rented a small boat in the harbor and tooled around the nearby islands. All in all, a wonderful experience. I don't see how you can go wrong staying at this place. read more

This was a terrific stay (December 23-24)! It is definitely worth the extra dollar sign. The room was very clean. The fruit and granola was a great treat! They had big puffy robes, soft towels and very comfortable bedding (see pictures). Our dog stayed with us and she also had her own bed, blanket, towel and treats. Our suite came with dishes, a refrigerator, some beverages (milk and OJ), and things to wash with. Great hair and soap products. The staff were friendly and helpful. They checked in with us the day of our stay and even check with us after our stay to make sure everything went well. This hotel is environmentally conscious (which we liked). PERFECTION! Heaven on Earth! A glorious hotel in a majestic sea and wilderness escape! My family and I decided for a last minute getaway while visiting Seattle. While a nice hotel is always fun, the Island Inn exceeded all our expectations and truly made our trip magical. We stayed in both Penthouse 2 and 5 (it was a last minute trip so we changed rooms for our last night due to availability). Everything was perfect from the views, the balcony doors that overlooked the ferry boats and the Outrigger (great restaurant!), the full kitchen with all the amenities, and the roof top patio for a truly spectacular cocktail hour! Theo and team provided everything we could need from coffee to granola to fresh fruit. An adorable wine shop was around the corner as was a great gourmet grocery store--all within walking distance. The linens were soft and heavenly. My favorite vacation memory will be lying in bed reading with the balcony doors open listening to the ferries come in with the warm breeze blowing on my face. Just returned from a FANTASTIC stay here. As the previous Yelper mentioned, we too received a very generous upgrade from a standard Euro room to a Penthouse Suite, and what a treat! It was also off-season, but it seems that upgrades are something they try and do whenever they can. They are also new (open less than a year), so it might be something they are doing now to garner positive feedback and build a following, but hey, it works! It was definitely a luxurious stay, with the nicest sheets I have ever slept in, heated floors in the bathroom, views from every window, and a very spacious multi-level penthouse. Fireplace, great kitchen, and really wonderful shampoo/conditioner and soaps. The in-house coffee was also awesome! Very clean, modern and sheek, quite the opposite of our usual Island Bed and Breakfasts, but everyone needs a little luxury in their life. I highly recommend staying here, and try and go in the off-season, a nice upgrade might be waiting for you! * I should also note that I peeked into the Euro rooms that were empty, and would not have minded those either. They are significantly smaller and without much of a view, but the space is so well utilized and the same luxurious sheets and little touches are found in the Euro rooms too, and they are about half the price. read more

It's not often I wish there were MORE stars to give than just 5...this place was spectacular...I'd give it 10 stars if that were possible! We splurged on a special get away and booked a Penthouse...two stories, private balcony, view of the harbor...they promised "front row seats and big views" and wow did they deliver! It was top notch from booking to check in (Theo and Francis were helpful, friendly and informative) to check out. The rooms were super clean, and everything sparkled. They had lovely little touches from the fruit and granola to the doggie package. We stayed her for 4 nights in Penthouse 2. This place is simply perfect. It's got very high end finishes in the units, and is incredibly comfortable. Location is perfect (minutes from ferry), Staff is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is impeccable. I can't say enough about how nice a place this is and what a great value it is. We loved it so much we booked our next trip before checking out. I'd recommend getting a unit with a view as the view is jaw dropping and just fun to see the comings and goings of the boats and people. The place is very green as well, which appeals to us. Our shower had a steam bath (awesome), great bath products, and very nice towels / sheets. Unit is well stocked with all the necessary items to cook, entertain and just relax. I highly recommend paying for the parking in advance so that you have a spot. We can't wait to return. read more

Great location with the shops and restaurants of Friday Harbor all within walking distance. We stayed in "Sweet 1" and had large windows overlooking the marina so we could watch the boats, sea planes and ferries come and go (not sure why one would book a Euro room and then complain about the lack of windows). Unless you end up stuck in the traffic created by a ferry unloading it really only takes seconds to get from the ferry to the inn. If driving, definitely reserve a parking spot. The inn has a parking garage under the rooms that offers covered off-street parking and with a reservation you will have a parking space with your name on it. Our bed and bedding were very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a single basin dual sink so both of us could get ready simultaneously. Being the middle of summer we did not really have a chance to appreciate the heated floor in the bathroom. Decor was modern, clean and light which is what we preferred. Complementary juice, milk, granola and fresh fruit were provided. As others have stated water is not provided but it seems odd to us to complain about no water given all the other items that the inn supplies. Despite being very close to Spring Street which is the main drag through Friday Harbor, the inn faces Front Street which is much less active. While being close to the action it is fairly quiet at the inn itself. read more

We stayed only a night and it was a great experience, though we had the most inexpensive room. It was small but cute, clean, and cozy. Loved the modern look. Didn't love that the bathroom was more like a sectioned off part of the room as opposed to a separate room - not ideal unless you're in the room alone! However, the lotion, soap etc. was amazing. I looked it up to purchase but it's pretty high end. I was obsessed with it :). This hotel is in the perfect location and the staff is friendly. They have a nice common area with coffee and fruit. It's great if you're looking for a more modern hotel than a lot of the ones featured on the island. Overall, good stay! read more

We arrived on the ferry a few hours before our check in time. The innkeepers were friendly and accommodating, letting us know our room would be ready for us early and they would give us a call when it was. It wasn't long before they called us and we got into our room. We stayed in Suite 1 and found it to be very spacious and well laid out. Nice view of the harbor with comfy chairs facing the windows, couch and chairs and table - lots of different seating options in there. The bed was so soft and comfy I didn't want to leave it. The bathroom just totally spoiled us, heated floors, soaking tub, robes, nice bath products. Overall we loved the room but also appreciated the great service there. Wow. I am so glad we found this place-we will be back for sure! We stayed here this past weekend and were so sad to leave it. The service is impeccable, the location is perfect. We stayed in penthouse 1 and the view of Friday Harbor was amazing. This hotel has so many little touches that make it feel very personal. A perfect antidote to the big box hotels. Stay here! Absolutely LOVE this place! Went three years ago in the off season and they upgraded us to the penthouse two-floor suite. It was bigger than my apartment! We had planned to go hiking and such but the "room" was so lovely we just got takeout and wine and spent the whole time indoors :) View is excellent - we actually got to see a double rainbow over the harbor (totally arranged by Friday Harbor House I'm sure...). (Sadly the building across the street was taken out by a fire not long ago so expect a little bit of unscenic clean-up but the view is still lovely.) Just got back from a long anniversary weekend there. Didn't manage to swing the free upgrade but they left us a welcome back card, signed by the staff, and a bag of delicious shortbread cookies. Note: early Feb is very off-season so expect a lot of places away from the immediate harbor region to be closed. Still managed to find coffee, food and drink for the weekend though. Plus there's King Market a few blocks up the road Customer service is stellar. The whole experience is above that of your standard hotel - really not that far from Seattle and so worth it! I really wanted to like this place. The location and vibe was perfect. The interior was quaint and cozy. All the amenities were present....good coffee and maker, lovey fruit each day, etc. The main problem with this place is the noise level. I heard every sound from the above unit and the outside traffic. It seriously sounds like there was no insulation added when the place was built. Unfortunate because everything else is so peaceful and perfect. If you can ignore the "noise" then it will be a great spot for you. Otherwise it might create some serious frustration. We only got to stay 1 night at this wonderful hotel and we wish we could stay longer! We love the design and decor! It's modern but so comfortable and warm. The beds were so comfortable and the complimentary light breakfast left in the penthouse was a nice treat! The views of the harbor are STUNNING and from all directions. My Husband and I stayed here for the film festival. I had seen this hotel online and was a little hesitant just because of the price. Most hotels at Friday Harbor seemed to be on the higher side. Then I noticed a special film festival rate. Perfect! When I booked she recommended that I reserve a parking spot as well. We were glad we did. The location was great- right by the ferry. We were also able to walk to the film festival. We loved the room, we stayed in the Euro room - it was small but all we needed for the weekend. We fully intend on going back and staying in a suite next time. We have been recommending this place to everyone we know! My parents are now planning a weekend and want to stay here. My husband and I just got married in the San Juan Islands. We're on a budget and we were looking for a nice place to stay that was outrageously expensive. We settled for 123 Inn because it was available. I thought it was still pretty expensive. We stayed in one of the cheapest rooms they had for 2 days and it cost $700! But they were amazing!! The front desk was extremely helpful and kind. Our room was beautiful! All my bridesmaids were able to get ready in the room comfortably. And everything this walking distance from the hotel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone! The only thing I would change is the price. But I would do that with that with just about everything. read more
