Homemade gluten free waffles, strawberry jam, non fat yogurt, Shakshuka, bread

Farhad does it all, he is the mayor of Friday Harbor, cooks delicious homemade gluten-free breakfast with fruit from his garden and eggs from his chicken coop. He makes the bed and cleans the room every day. On top of that he serves wine at night while he plays the piano. The bed and breakfast property is gorgeous and filled with beautiful flowers. The bakerview suite 2 bedroom suite was perfect for my wife, dog, and me in one room while my father-in-law and mother-in-law stayed in the room next to us.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife, son and dog, then extended our trip for an additional night because we were having such a lovely time--despite the rainy weather. Farhad is an exceptional host and a true renaissance man: classical pianist, organic gardener, fermenter, baker, cook, rennovator, chicken farmer, pilot, and then some, I'm sure. Each evening, he'd drop homemade cookies (biscotti, coconut dark chocolate) off to our room with a private entrance, and two of the nights he gave us our own personal piano concert. He is quite the pianist! Breakfast was amazing, too. From sourdough, gluten-free, whole grain waffles with creme fraiche and jam, to a delectable veggie-packed fritatta with a side of delicious fruits and multigrain toast, I ate every crumb, every morn. He even offered seconds, much to my vacationing-gluttonous delight. And since we had to leave early our last day so we could make a mini-trip to Orcas Island on the way home, he packed us a nice breakfast to go with a stack of toast, butter, almond butter and 3 different homemade jams. Oh yeah, our room was nice as well, complete with mini-kitchen and a parking space right outside the door, plus a TV with Netflix and other channels (not that we actually watched it) and a "cool" electric fire place that warmed the room up really fast. My 4-year old kept saying how much he likes Farhad and asking if we can stay longer, then once we left he kept saying how much he wants to go back. We definitely will return, and I couldn't recommend staying here more. Blows a hotel stay out of the water like a killer whale's blowhole! Maybe next time I'll actually get to see one.

You won't be disappointed! Wonderful staff and beautiful place to stay. Close to everything you would like to see! Fresh breakfasts with home grown eggs and vegetables and evening snacks. I would go back for sure!

The best of all worlds! The owner, Farhad is also the Mayor of Friday Harbor

This must be the 1st choice or option for a B&B at Friday Harbor. Great location, really comfortable rooms, the most amazing breakfasts and a built-in tour guide (Mayor of Friday Harbor, Farhad Ghatan). Farhad is a "man of many talents" and this makes for a spectacular vacation. 8:30am Family-Style Breakfast is by far the best B&B breakfast I have ever experienced. Everything served is custom made. Persian Food, Persian look-a-like food, savory tasting foods, the best waffles or pancakes, super fresh and strong coffee and the list goes on. Farhad is an amazing cook and it is a highlight you won't find elsewhere. Farhad is currently the elected Mayor for Friday Harbor and he knows pretty much everyone and he will give you very good advice on who to go see, where to eat, where to rent anything from and just about everything in-between. I was travelling by myself and so I reserved a single room and bathroom and it was very comfortable. My bed was excellent. My brother and his wife were travelling with me and they reserved a larger room with a huge deck. Upon arrival, Farhad took us out back to check out his 16 chickens which produce an abundance of fresh eggs daily and also to inspect and taste apples right off one of his apple trees. He has a large garden that helps accommodate the breakfasts each morning. Each evening from 6:30 pm on Farhad plays the piano for great entertainment and the ability to meet other house guests. I have decided in the future to look for B&B's that are owned and operated by the Mayor of the respective town and this has a lot of benefits.

We stayed here as a large family group and had a wonderful time. Farhad and Trish are so kind and theyre amazing cooks. Breakfast was decadent every day and Farhad cooks with so many sprouted grains and fresh ingredients. It's all unique and amazing. We especially loved the Persian Frittata and the waffles. The big porch is a great place to enjoy the lovely weather and we'd absolutely come back! Being such a short walk to town is also great - the location is perfect.

Beautiful experience from start of our stay to finish! What a surprise it was to be treated to a classical piano concert every evening!

We were unfortunate to be there when the water pump for the property broke on our second evening. We had been out cycling all day and desperately needed showers. So this meant no showers, no toilet, no hand washing, etc. etc. They gave us a pitcher of water so we could brush our teeth and a bucket of water to do 1 toilet flush. They were super nice and apologetic. They gave us a bottle of wine and a few pieces of nice soap as a consolation. That's the disappointment and why I knocked them down to 2 stars (it would have been a 1 star had the rest of the experience note been so nice). I know this was an unexpected event. And they should have refunded part of the not-inconsequential price for that night or offered a discount on a future stay. A bottle of wine did not change the fact that I went home from my birthday weekend filthy and dying for a bathroom visit. Running water is expected when you've spent $500 a night for a room.

Our room had an en-suite bathroom that was clean and had modern fixtures. Wonderful hosts! Claudia, Tyrone & Sveva. Claudia made an amazing breakfast each morning. She even baked chocolate chip cookies daily, there was also coffee, tea, & hot coco available at any time for us to have from the kitchen. We really enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and Pygmy Goats. The animals were so adorable and friendly. My only con was our initial impression of the room as it did not have a TV. But as our stay went on, we thoroughly enjoyed not having a TV in the room, it allowed us to disconnect more and take in the beauty of the island and surroundings. They do have a family/tv room, but we never felt the need to turn it on. If you are looking for a little peace & quiet, with a great breakfast each morning that is included in your stay, you have to come and stay at the Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast!!

The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.
