We rang the bell, looked around, called their number, but could not locate anyone. My wife and I decided to use the time to explore the island. Charles called, he had been out back doing yard work. When we arrived the second time, we were greeted by Charles with an apology and a tour. The home is tidy, eclectic and quirky. Our room was wonderful. Plenty of space, comfortable bed and charming. Another bonus of staying here was the breakfasts. The food is delicious and unexpected. I did not anticipate seared sushi grade tuna or oat pancakes that rival the best buttermilk pancakes. And the beauty of breakfast times is sitting with other guests along with Jill and Charles discussing everything from how it all began at the Kangaroo B&B to activities to do on the island. I have to say, with the exception of the amazing views from Mount Constitution, the water views from almost everywhere on the island and celebrating my wife, this B&B was a highlight of my trip.

My husband had their normal breakfast and said it was amazing. He hates pancakes but said the ones they made were incredible. Additionally they were very friendly and inviting to an LGBTQ+ couple staying there which made me feel safe and welcome. I look forward to going back in the future!

I came here with my boyfriend for a little anniversary getaway and we stayed at the Goldfinch room. Yes, all the rooms are named after different birds. The place is quite cozy. At night, there were free beverages and snacks we could take and there also was a tv with a streaming service to end your night with. In the morning, we woke for the breakfast and were served by Amanda who takes deep care of the bed and breakfast. She also has her own little pottery studio next door. She made us some eggs, bacon, pancakes, served with muffins and we got to choose our drink. It felt very cozy to wake up to this. Food is pretty standard when it comes to breakfast, but I liked that it was made upon arrival into the space. After breakfast, we hopped onto the hot tub, it wasn't too hot but more like warm. This could be due to it being freezing cold outside. The lookout was absolutely gorgeous though, very serene I might add. I would consider staying at Otters Pond again if I were to come back to the area, maybe in a different season?

This is a lovely property where seemingly every guest gets a water view. In the mornings I would raise the shades and watch geese and dear roam around the field that runs to the waterfront. As the day wore on, the resident goats, chickens, and pony took their turn in the yard and the tide moved in and out, constantly changing the scene and providing something new to see, hear, and photograph obsessively (a handful of pics capturing my willing subjects are uploaded here). The hosts are extremely friendly and, in my opinion, quite special in that they leave the degree of guest interaction entirely up to you. You receive directions to your accommodations with your email confirmation and can let yourself in without assistance. However, they are eager to make themselves available any time you have questions, want recommendations, need something, etc. To me, this makes PCF great for everyone from a family looking for guidance on an activity-filled vacation to a couple seeking privacy during a romantic getaway weekend. As described in other posts, the attention to detail here is phenomenal. The setting may be rustic, but the rooms are very nicely appointed and extremely clean. My suite had beautiful wood flooring throughout, a tremendously comfortable bed, and any amenity you could possibly need. Hair dryer? Check. Rainy day books and DVDs? Check. Complete set of kitchenware? Check. This last point was a nice selling point for me in particular. As a frequent solo traveler, I don't care a lot about dining out (it's a bit awkward on your own and it's a quick drain on the cash flow!). It was fantastic that the suite came with everything I needed to prepare my own food and the eggs from the hens and fresh veggies from the garden meant I had to buy very few supplemental items to complete my meals (check out the Eastsound Farmer's Market or ferry landing grocery store). I could go on and on, but I should leave some things for you to discover during your own stay. Needless to say, highly recommend Pebble Cove Farm!

We saw jellyfish, starfish, deer, eagles on the property not to mention the chickens, horse, and goats on the property. They provide a glass jar of milk and orange juice and are able to pick from the vegetables in the garden. The kitchen is not a full kitchen, but provides all the necessities needed to make a decent meal. The rooms were very nice, however, they use organic cleaning products. These products did not thoroughly clean the suite and would prefer stronger chemicals. The towels were stiff and rough on the body. We were here for my birthday and had 3 rooms reserved, but unfortunately 1 friend was unable to make it and tried to notify the staff via telephone but did not get ahold of anyone. My other friends were promised a room at 2pm, but was not ready until after 4pm. Needless to say the check-in wasn't smooth. The property is a great place and would come back, just a few hiccups along the way.

All the little details have been thawed out from the entryway right to the bathroom. We are in Friday Harbor Friday. Harbor has a reputation and it is not inexpensive to be in this area so don't be surprised by price stickers if you shop around. You get what you pay for here they give you a lot of class along with a good product. I would like to stay longer if I could, but our time is limited and we have to go home and the weather has been perfect.

We stayed in this B&B an admittedly long time ago (1999) but I've stopped in since then and things…read morehaven't changed, and I have friends that have been going there every summer since 1989 who still rave about it too. This B&B offers four different rooms, one with a private bath and three that share two bathrooms. All of the rooms are sparkling clean, extremely comfortable, and beautifully sunlit (and have lovely views). The 1895 farmhouse is a stunner, and you might recognize its photo because it was on the cover of a seed catalog in 2001! The real highlight of this place is the breakfast. There's an onsite chicken coop, and the eggs will be fresh, as in this-morning fresh, and oh my, they are FANTASTIC. And Christian is also a talented baker of buttermilk biscuits. They are just a few miles away from the island's farmers' market, so fresh fruit and vegetables either come from their garden or a neighbor's, essentially. No children, no smoking, no pets... it's a quiet nirvana. And it's cheap in the winter, all rooms $99/night, and as their website says, free hugs from the innkeepers too. :-) They are delightful, trusting and gentle people, and you will feel refreshed if you accept their hospitality.

It is located on Cattle Point very near to several great beaches and American Camp, part of San Juan National Historic Park. By car it's about 10 minutes from Friday Harbor. Its hosts are Christian and Lea Andrade, two of the friendliest and kindest people we know. The inn is located in a historic farmhouse and the rooms are all well-maintained and comfortable. Our favorite is the Garden Room located off the kitchen. The breakfasts consist of a smoothie, a fruit dish, a baked egg dish and baked goods like biscuits or muffins. Everything is always delicious. Although there is a lot to do on San Juan Island, we always take time to relax at the inn and enjoy the peace and quiet on their pretty deck or on the grounds with beautiful flower gardens, yard art, and a chicken coop populated by lots of hens. We also enjoy visiting with the hosts, who are very knowledgeable about the island. Whether it's helping you plan a trek to the beach, identifying a particular type of owl you saw perched on a street sign, or inviting you to listen to them as they practice with their wonderful marimba band, the Andrades are at the top of our list for B&B hosts. We can't wait for our next visit!

They have a ton of acres and sheep to interact with. We couldn't believe how friendly these sheep were. The farm offers a tour which is a must when visiting. The background and operations were impressive and all ran by their family. We left learning a lot more then we expected. They also have a cute shop full of gifts and snacks. Shortly they will have their distillery going as well. This was a definitely a highlight of our trip and hope to one day come back and visit again.

This was my most anticipated part of our trip here, I really wish island businesses realized when they just aren't open during posted hours, it's disappointing for customers.
