Gourmet doggie cupcake to welcome your dog to the cottage
    Kristen A.

My dog and I had a wonderful stay at the Tucker House. We rented Jennie's cabin which is small but effectively laid out. There is a cute little kitchenette and decently sized bathroom. French press coffee, which was very good, is supplied along with some teas and hot coco mix. And the towels are really nice, very soft which I appreciate. My dog enjoyed it as well. In her opinion any trip that starts with a cupcake is a good trip. They supplied a nice clean water bowl as well and plenty of space in the floor for her bed. She also liked the dog area, which is just feet from the cottage. Granted my dog weighs 16 pounds so the size of the yard might be less impressive for your bigger types of puppies. The tucker house is located in town so it's easy to walk to anywhere but it's off the beaten path enough that you're not officially inside of all the action. Finally the following morning they delivered a delicious breakfast! I was really happy with my stay and I would visit them again for sure.

Stayed with some friends out from the East Coast, introducing them to the San Juans. We stayed in the two bedroom Victoria's Garden Suite - absolutely adorable charming unit with a full kitchen and cute-as-a-button sun room and table for four. The gas-burning fireplace in the common room heated up,beautifully and was capable of keeping the whole unit cozy on a cool night. Our only regret was that we only planned to stay one night. We could easily have spent a week. Every staff member we ran into was incredibly helpful and accommodating. A great stay!

My bouquet - flowers came from a local grower by the bucket then the inn arranged them into our centerpieces, bouquet, and boutonniere

We worked with Anna Maria to plan our lovely 23 person wedding at Tucker House Inn and Coho Restaurant. The event was everything we could have hoped to be, and this place is absolutely perfect for small to mid sized weddings! Pricing was transparent and reasonable for a destination wedding. Anna Maria was easy to access for any questions or planning along the way. She did much of the coordination for us like buying and putting together favors, procuring and arranging flowers, and working with the restaurant to come up with an amazing, seasonally inspired, farm fresh menu for our reception. Most of our guests stayed at the inn with us, which was a ton of fun to see everyone. They delivered favors to those who stayed at the inn, so our guests got a fun little surprise. Everyone loved their rooms. Each room is unique, and there are a handful that have a hot tub including the Friday Harbor Suite where we stayed. Our suite was SO nice. It had a little kitchen, king size bed, updated bathroom with dual shower heads, fireplace, plenty of room and storage, and multiple seating areas. It also had a large, secluded hot tub on the deck overlooking the town. We loved our room, and it was the perfect place to stay during our wedding weekend. It was also a good sized room to host a few friends the day of our wedding as I was getting ready. Every morning, a different homemade breakfast was delivered to our room. It was very tasty and filling. There were a couple guests who wished that deliveries started earlier in the morning, but otherwise it was great! You could also add on hard boiled eggs and/or parfaits, which a picky friend of mine did since breakfast was always a surprise and she didn't know if she would like it. Our ceremony took place in the garden under a big beautiful willow tree. We paid extra to have the street closed off during it to minimize noise. We also paid to have a guitarist play music during and after the ceremony. We had our families book the rooms right next to the ceremony space so that we were able to gather and procession out from there. That was convenient and I recommend doing that if you can! The inn took care of setting up the chairs. We had no other decor since we were coming out of state and wanted to keep things simple. I think the garden is beautiful enough to do this! We had a small table off to the side with a welcome message and guest book, which the inn also set up. All in all, our wedding was everything we wanted it to be - intimate, simple, in nature, with amazing food. We were so happy with how everything turned out and went very smoothly. The weekend itself was low stress and tons of fun!

We stayed at the Lizzie house for the weekend and were blown away by the service, the cute cabin, the garden, and the breakfast delivery. Hands down the best Inn breakfast we have ever experienced. We will definitely give our recommendation to friends and family and expect to return! P.s. The extra care they provided for our dog was excellent. He greatly enjoyed the bacon and egg breakfast and treats!!

This was my first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast (have only seen them on the Hallmark channel). And I was very surprised! The staff was super friendly and didn't try to overstay their welcome but are here if you need them. You may be greeted by Porter the friendliest pup who is usually sitting inside the Tucker House ready to greet guests. Upon arriving we had a wonderful tour from Vanessa who showed us around along with all the amenities and communal areas. Once we arrived to the room there was fresh cookies to enjoy, a cozy fireplace and a great view. Each morning you have the option to have breakfast delivered the the room and orders must be placed by 4pm the day prior. You have an entree choice, yogurt with fruit and milk or juice (the orange juice is amazing!!). Tucker house is a very short walk to the ferry terminal and an even shorter drive if you have a vehicle. Perfect place to call home for the weekend!

The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

It has steps, indoors and out (I found the outdoor steps easier on my bad hip) and it's just a lovely place - nicely decorated and SO clean. Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.

The grounds -- consisting of about 4 or 5 separate buildings -- had a lovely chill vibe, lots of greenery around the compound, an indoor pool and sauna and a nice array of separate outdoor seating areas. Also, not gonna lie -- accommodations are upscale Best Western level, which again, I have no problem with, but just so ya know, that's 300 greenbacks in high season. Hey, it's an island, I get it, there's not many options; Just throwing it out there. Our Queen Standard room was on the small side, but the bath/shower was perfectly adequate (if a bit dated), as was the A/C, and the bed and bedding was pretty comfortable. The staff too was awesome, cheery and happy to meet any need. We loved the pool and jacuzzi setup, and there's even a little exercise room in the same building. One thing I could have done without were the 5 or so emails I received before check-in, begging me to complete the online check-in form ahead of time, so I could just go right to the room without needing to stop at the office. Didn't work and I still had to physically check in. So yea, that was a pain. And yet? They still get 4 stars. Our one-night stay may have been expensive but it was very comfortable.

We were unfortunate to be there when the water pump for the property broke on our second evening. We had been out cycling all day and desperately needed showers. So this meant no showers, no toilet, no hand washing, etc. etc. They gave us a pitcher of water so we could brush our teeth and a bucket of water to do 1 toilet flush. They were super nice and apologetic. They gave us a bottle of wine and a few pieces of nice soap as a consolation. That's the disappointment and why I knocked them down to 2 stars (it would have been a 1 star had the rest of the experience note been so nice). I know this was an unexpected event. And they should have refunded part of the not-inconsequential price for that night or offered a discount on a future stay. A bottle of wine did not change the fact that I went home from my birthday weekend filthy and dying for a bathroom visit. Running water is expected when you've spent $500 a night for a room.
