This Inn can do better at up keep. I personally reserved a room for a bath. This is what I got! It's disturbing.

The Inn can do better at up keep. I reserved a room for the purpose of a bath and this is what I got. A dirty epic mat. I refused to use everyone bacteria. Not ok. The bathroom looked old. Was not worth the cost I paid. Yes I understand it was the holiday weekend.. do better. Thank you.

Pretty sure hot tubs are not meant to be this color
Erin-Elizabeth A.

This property is at best dated and at worst dirty. The location and staff were great and we found the self check-in to be very convenient and easy to use. However, the rooms were very dusty and some of the amenities were downright gross. The minute we saw the hot tub we decided not to go in. The parking situation also outweighs the benefits of the location. The spots are extremely small and fill up quickly.

The beer was from San Juan Brewery (a "must visit") and displayed on ice with some wonderful chocolates, as well.

Oh, man. This is a tough review to write. First off, there are so many things I really like about…read morethis hotel. The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

This is a great place to stay. We have been doing VRBOs in Friday Harbor and honestly, in our price…read morerange, we got WAY more for our money at Bird Rock. It has steps, indoors and out (I found the outdoor steps easier on my bad hip) and it's just a lovely place - nicely decorated and SO clean. Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.

We loved the hot tub, the breakfasts, the dogs, and the welcoming people. We were celebrating our 10-year anniversary and it was perfect. The view was exceptional and if we had not booked a kayak camping trip we'd have stayed longer. We had to leave early our last day and they gave us breakfast to go! Highly recommend!

My boyfriend booked this for my birthday a few weeks ago. We stayed 2 nights in a king bed room…read more Other than the room being a bit small, the experience was 5 stars, minus a major hiccup. We were unfortunate to be there when the water pump for the property broke on our second evening. We had been out cycling all day and desperately needed showers. So this meant no showers, no toilet, no hand washing, etc. etc. They gave us a pitcher of water so we could brush our teeth and a bucket of water to do 1 toilet flush. They were super nice and apologetic. They gave us a bottle of wine and a few pieces of nice soap as a consolation. That's the disappointment and why I knocked them down to 2 stars (it would have been a 1 star had the rest of the experience note been so nice). I know this was an unexpected event. And they should have refunded part of the not-inconsequential price for that night or offered a discount on a future stay. A bottle of wine did not change the fact that I went home from my birthday weekend filthy and dying for a bathroom visit. Running water is expected when you've spent $500 a night for a room.

On how to get in our room, the breakfast was very good and they even made a to go on our last day. The in is located out of town in the countryside. About 10 mins from the ferry. There are so many positives I am sure I missed some. Location: Close to town (5min), also centrally located to head to any part of the island! County Setting (5 acres) with livestock you can feed! Our room had an en-suite bathroom that was clean and had modern fixtures. Wonderful hosts! Claudia, Tyrone & Sveva. Claudia made an amazing breakfast each morning. She even baked chocolate chip cookies daily, there was also coffee, tea, & hot coco available at any time for us to have from the kitchen. We really enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and Pygmy Goats. The animals were so adorable and friendly. My only con was our initial impression of the room as it did not have a TV. But as our stay went on, we thoroughly enjoyed not having a TV in the room, it allowed us to disconnect more and take in the beauty of the island and surroundings. They do have a family/tv room, but we never felt the need to turn it on. If you are looking for a little peace & quiet, with a great breakfast each morning that is included in your stay, you have to come and stay at the Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast!!

Courtyard Suites - Studio Suite - sleeps 5

Courtyard Suites

(14 reviews)

Our family of 3 stayed in the Studio Suite for 4 nights during the month of July…read more Pros: -Booking was easy online & the owner was easy to deal with. -The suite is advertised, clean with adequate kitchen supplies. I would have preferred a new bar of soap to a large bottle of body wash in the shower, but that may be personal preference. -Location, location, location. We walked everywhere in town except one day; there was a car rental place within walking distance & we were able to explore the rest of the island. There is no denying that the Courtyard Suites have a fantastic location! -The owner allowed us to store our luggage in the suite before check-in time as the Clipper arrived very early in the morning. She provided the same courtesy during the day we checked out. This was much appreciated. Cons: -I hardly slept well at all during our 4 night stay here. -There is a trash dumpster right outside the window by the bed. Three of the four mornings, a loud truck came & emptied the dumpster before 7 a.m. It's possible one of the trucks was a fuel truck as well, I was too tired to look out the window. There was no way to sleep through this racket. -We attempted to keep the windows open to allow a breeze at night since there is no AC. The suite has casement windows that swing out, with mini blinds for privacy. Whenever the breeze came through the windows, the blinds would bang against the window frames. Several nights my husband & I couldn't sleep from the blinds banging, & ended up having to be hot with no cross ventilation just to stop the noise. -By the time tax was added & $12/night for my son to sleep on the futon, it ended up being pricier than we expected at $255 per night. Overall I would recommend the Courtyard Suites, especially if you are a heavy sleeper!

I'm sure this place could have been awesome. Hence why I said "could have". The owner emailed me…read moreabout what dogs I have to bring with. I initially said that I have a Lab and a pit bull. I got a response that big dogs were not allowed especially the pit bull. Only small dogs are allowed considering smaller dogs are much more aggressive and annoying. The best part is that I have contacted the owner about getting my deposit back. 4 days later, no response. Go figure. I wonder how long I'll get a response. Save your money, chill at another place.
