Stayed for a mid-week overnight getaway. You come here for some history and a view of the channel. The walls are a little thin for noise, but that's because the building is so old. The staff seem happy and friendly. We arrived at 12:50pm and they didn't have our room ready at that time, but had it ready by 1:10pm. I felt like breakfast was above average for a hotel continental breakfast- they had nice fresh berries and fruit. Would return for our next visit to La Conner. read more

Views are pretty. But if you want a cookie before bed? Nope sorry they're out by 630 pm. We checked in at 4, got settled and went to dinner at 5. After we strolled back to the hotel looking forward to a cookie and nope disappointed my husband and I had to get our toddler to bed and the receptionist at the front said "sorry there will be more tomorrow around 2 pm" haha ok we're are Checking out at 10 but alright. The simple gesture as a cookie is just that simple but a little gesture goes a long way in hospitality. He could've offered something else or gone the extra to make more, I'm sure guests checking in late would appreciate it too and a warm cup of coffee as a welcome. read more

What a lovely place to stay! My mom and I would always see this spot from restaurants or boats and talk about how lovey it is, so we finally decided to stay here and had a great time. The hotel is definitely old. They use big brass keys instead of key cards, but some of the old features add to the charm. We had a corner room with a great balcony and a view. The room was spacious and lovely! Comfy bed, amazing view. Free breakfast was pretty standard- we did love that they had gluten free bread and fresh berries and they were could enjoy them from our room. The staff was friendly and helpful! They offer wine service at the counter, but not from 6-9pm. We thought this was kind of funny, but maybe they're encouraging you to go to the wine shop down the street during that time. The hotel has a lovely outdoor area right on the water that we enjoyed. This was a great place to stay, but very pricey. Two nights cost almost $700 but had the same comfort and amenities as a hotel that would cost about half that. read more

What a scenic quiet place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised that we seemed to have our own private patio on the channel. We could not get over how quiet and peaceful the hotel was for our entire stay. Room was comfortable staff accommodating. Piano player Saturday evening was a treat. read more

The Channel lodge is clean and quiet. The rooms have a nice balcony and fireplace. We loved the wine tasting experience they provided. Breakfast was very filling and provided a cozy atmosphere. The only disappointment we experienced was the extremely firm mattress. If you enjoy sleeping on a mattress without any softness then you will be in heaven! We never received the "warm cookies " at check in like many other people have mentioned but that's alright. We were glad our stay was only one night because of the horrible night sleep due to the mattress. read more

As much as it pains me to write this, I believe this will be our last stay. The quality and service at LC Channel Lodge have both declined significantly in the last 18 months. We've stayed here four times in the last 18 months, twice over the Christmas Holiday. On our most recent trip, we booked the lodge for 6 nights. We checked into our room, and weren't thrilled with the condition of the furniture, but we were willing to look past that. Until we tried to go to sleep. We both woke up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep. The bed was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. My wife got dressed and went downstairs at 12:30 AM and the desk clerk said that she could move us to another room for our whole stay. My wife asked twice about this, and was assured it would be for the whole 6 nights. So we took what we needed to sleep and moved to the new room (we had to accept a non-water view room, but our sleep is more important). The desk clerk agreed with us that we should just move everything to our new room in the morning. Which we did. Not a small feat; we had our family's Christmas gifts, Christmas tree and Christmas decorations. This was, after all, where we were going to celebrate Christmas, just like last year. We asked the desk clerk to ask to manager to please contact us to discuss the situation when she arrived. After waiting for about an hour, she arrived at our room. Completely on the defensive! Arguing the quality of the furniture ('Well, our newer furniture is on back order"), and the quality of the bed in our original room ("It's less than six months old, and it's a pillow top mattress"). I can assure you, it is NOT a pillow top mattress. Anyway, after being extremely defensive, she then let us know that her desk clerk the night before had made an error - our new room WASN'T available for our whole trip, and we'd have to change rooms - AGAIN - on our last night!?? Well, we weren't unpacking, packing and unpacking a third time at this less than fabulous hotel. Its charm has severely worn off over the years. The 'breakfast' is a joke. Even last year (2022), they TRIED to make things nice on Christmas Day with some quiche dish. Not this year. They decided to stick with the bare minimum. The fruit offering consisted of orange slices, apple slices, green grapes and red grapes. They used to have flavored creamer and non-dairy options for your coffee; but there were no 'alternative' cream options for the coffee. Anyone who is lactose-intolerant will be looking elsewhere for coffee. In our first morning, we watched multiple couples look over the sparse offerings, and opted to leave without partaking. Any Best Western has a better breakfast offering, and we aren't fans of Best Western. There is no housekeeping unless you ask for it, but that seems like it's becoming the norm nowadays. The beds - which vary greatly in quality from room to room - have this weird metal/aluminum base. If you touch it accidentally getting into or out of the bed, it sounds like someone hit the side of an empty oil drum. Strangely, though, prices haven't fallen with the elimination of housekeeping. But again, that appears to be an industry standard now. In a positive note, they have decorated the lobby beautifully for Christmas, and the rooms and exterior have been repainted recently. There used to be a wine reception, but no longer. They do give you a coupon for a tasting at Hellam's next door, but they were closed a couple days during our stay. I guess if you're a light packer, staying for a few days only, don't care about the quality of the bedding, and you don't eat breakfast anyway, this might still be a good option for you. read more

Awesome place for a getaway. Location, location, location. Most of the rooms have an amazing view of the Swinomish Channel. The rooms are mostly quiet if you are on the third floor, there seems to be very thin insulation between rooms. When the economy improves, I'm hoping the management will give this fabulous hotel a nice upgrade. The furniture, window shades, moldings and trim have seen better days. Biggest pet peeve... The plugs for power cords just fall out of the outlet. As a result, the number of locations for recharging cell phones, laptops, etc are greatly limited. We're hoping some great changes are on the horizon!! read more

this is a solid 4 star place. When the breakfast area remodel is finished it will be even better. I've seen some reviews that criticize the room or the breakfast. I'm not sure what folks expect in a small town like La Conner - this is at top notch as it gets. We've stayed at literally every place in town and between this and the Wild Iris Inn we've found our go to spots. the rooms aren't huge but they are supremely cozy. We love chilling by the fire. the small tv works for us ... it's La Conner ... They have solid WiFi if you need a fix. The service for us is top notch. The group at the front desk couldn't be nicer. Ambiance is solid. To be hones the only criticism I have at all (other than the temp breakfast arrangements) is damn those toilets are small. lol, I'm average size but I feel like I'm sitting on a tea cup. Seriously tho - strong showing and we will definitely be back. read more

It was the most relaxing weekend my hubby and I had in a long time. This hotel, even though it's considered a 2 Star does NOT reflect it at all. The only thing missing in the room was a microwave, other than that it is clean, no smell, and no pets allowed (we had to leave our wee ones at home ). This smallish town was filled with seniors, coupled or single, family of 3 or 4 is really, can't help saying that it is, simply perfect! Also, you have to bring whatever fun you have in mind without including technology i.e. laptops or tablets. I did a bit of crocheting . We would come back to this lodge/hotel time and again. I don't want to forget that there was live entertainment in the lobby, pianist Carl. Excellent stay, and accommodations. read more

The lodge has beautiful views. It's in a great location and the rooms are very cozy. The fireplace is one of the highlights. Breakfast was good and had a decent selections. The rooms probably could use more lighting. It wasn't a problem for me but may be for older people or those who like well lit rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful. Very relaxing weekend trip. I see there are some bad reviews from a few years ago, but they may have changed management or had some updates because the lodge was very nice and comfortable and clean. read more

Stayed here for my wife's birthday. First of all, not sure who's idea it is to rate this a two star hotel...makes no sense. It is MUCH nicer than that would indicate. The room was immaculate with a great water view, a small balcony, very comfortable bedding and a really homey feel. Really nice front desk person and check in experience...and...cookies! And these are not out of some package, they were excellent. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night...we would liked to have stayed two nights so we could enjoy the room for a full day. The lodge is charming, and Jessica-- at the front desk-- jump started our visit with a friendliness and helpfulness that set the tone of the weekend. The rooms are nicely appointed-- and have craftsman type architectural detail. Our room (#211) faced the channel-- a sweet view of the channel and the canoe hat shelters across the channel. Perks? Yes! We enjoyed the generous continental breakfast and the ability to enjoy it on the Lodge's breakfast deck. We also enjoyed the evening fire pit seating, again, with water view. I had read online of the cruises leaving from the Channel Lodge. We inquired about the 2.5 hour cruise going thru Deception pass and returning to the lodge. Jessica offered to see if she could book it for us-- she was successful-- I so appreciated the initiative and ability to do so. My only criticism would be that the lodge has few 2 bed rooms-- our room was small and they brought in a roller bed-- it was tight and I wonder why rooms with two beds are generally becoming difficult to find. Not everyone visits in a couple-- as my dear friend & I will attest. Anyway, we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Channel Lodge. read more

We started coming here a few years ago just to get away from the rat race. This little town of LaConner is so welcoming and quaint. Channel Lodge is our absolute favorite! Every time we have stayed here they have been overwhelming gracious and given excellent customer service! From the maintenance person, to the front desk, piano player in the lobby. The hotel has coffee and cookies in the afternoon for you, offer free wine tasting next door. The rooms are comfortable and the waterside have a lovely balcony overlooking the channel. It's wonderful to wake up and turn on your gas fireplace and grab a cup of coffee and just relax. read more

Like every hotel, the website room photos are embellished and paint a storybook image that, in real life, is nice but doesn't measure up to the hype. Had the king waterfront jacuzzi suite. Nice, comfortable, quiet and had everything on their amenities list but there is no view from the bedroom or from the jacuzzi and the balcony is miniature. It touts room service but has no restaurant and nothing after 8pm. Parking is very tight and definitely not for anything full-size. Nothing bad but just not as good as it was hyped to be. read more

I'd give this place a two-part rating. The lodge/accommodations get 5 stars. The staff is accommodating and friendly, the room was very comfortable and had a great view of the water. The location is close to everything in the town. The one negative- the continental breakfast was uninspired and lacked effort. They had decent cut fruit and acceptable muffins, but otherwise didn't look like it was worth the calories. My suggestion would be to skip it and hit the Scone Lady's shop next door. read more

On a holiday weekend (Veteran's Day and Canada's Remembrance Day) the place was busy. We came here because a close-by AirBnB canceled us almost last minute, so I had to bite the bullet and pay the $150+ bill for one night, more than my pay grade is used to. I'm glad for the chance to try a place I might have otherwise ignored. The dark wood and shake roof make it look old, but the lobby and interior make it seem classy. The room overlooking the water channel with small balcony (2nd floor for us) was small but nice. We never turned on the TV, preferring to make our own entertainment. The gas fireplace is more "real" than most, and very nice. The staff were professional and also friendly. Most of the lodgers were, like us, older middle aged couples getting away by themselves for a time. So, it was mostly quiet. Lodgers get a ticket to a free 3-drink wine tasting next door. The wine/beer shop had many hundreds of bottles. After dinner down the street, we returned to a piano recital by a lady who knew her stuff around the keys. We sat in the comfortable lobby sofa and relaxed to the melodious music. That was a very nice touch. Breakfast was standard continental style, with house-made granola, and the usual other stuff. Nothing special, but nothing wrong. LaConner is a one-horse town, or better put, good for one day and night. The Channel Lodge is a nice place to stay while there. read more

We needed a hotel for our road trip between Wenatchee and Victoria so La Conner seemed like a good spot. The drive out to La Conner goes thru some beautiful small farms and fruit stands. It turns out this was indeed a wonderful place to spend the night. The room was very comfortable, great bed, fireplace, great view of the channel. The balcony was a little small for 2 people to sit comfortably, but still a nice touch. Great dining at Nell Thorn down the street.. not to be missed! read more

I'm not mad, just disappointed. I've traveled to several properties in La Conner during covid and the lack of attention to details here is painfully obvious. I think you are really paying for a water view here more than a hotel with great amenities. I will start with the good; the staff was friendly at check in, the water view is nice, hot water and great water pressure for a quick fill of the tub. The bad; poorly stocked room, dirty trays in the dining room, horribly uncomfortable bed, really loud neighbors, no cable and super slow wifi. There was a coffee pot in the room but it was difficult to remove from it's cubby hole and there was nowhere to set up since no plugs in are anywhere readily accessible. I ended up setting the tray over the bathroom sink only to find there was one single powdered creamer in the bowl of coffee accoutrements. I had to go to the lobby to get more supplies. Slightly inconvenient since I was already groggy from a terrible night sleep. The bed was not comforting what so ever. I didn't sleep well and neither did my partner. I understand they have removed all the comfy decor because of covid and it really made a difference in our ability to get cozy. We tried to watch TV but every channel we clicked on wasn't a "paid" for channel. Eventually we gave up and tried to stream a movie online only for our wifi connection to crash about a dozen times while viewing. Pretty annoying after a frustrating denial of cable. We hoped the breakfast would make up for our dismal sleep and disappointing in room coffee but not really. I am pretty sure we were the first up there but a stack of trays looked dirty. I thought for a moment it was the send back pile. The first was dirty with food, as was the second and third that also had garbage on it. I finally picked up the stack in the middle to grab two that were soaking wet but appeared clean. Breakfast was mostly prepackaged bakery items but we did snag some hot coffee with all the creamer we needed. Overall I really don't think we will return. The Herron Inn had amazing fast wifi and a cozy bed with good service and a lovely hot breakfast. The Wild Iris has the best beds and biggest tubs. This place is a skip. read more

nice location right on the Swinomish channel. Rooms a bit dated but nice. Walls are thin so you can hear the neighbors, especially when they fire up the jacuzzi tub. Towels not very big or soft. My only real complaint is the front desk staff. Not very friendly. "how was your stay" or "please come again" would have been nice. Instead, "make sure you turn in both keys" and didn't even make eye contact. They were however very concerned about getting our room number when we "checked out" two wine glasses and an ice bucket. read more

First off, the staff here was excellent. They alone deserve a 4-5 star rating. Pleasant on check in and also when I needed ear plugs (more on that later). Location: (The reason why I stayed here) The Lodge is located right on the LaConner Channel. You look right out your window and see boats transiting the channel or tied up to the dock right in front of you. The building/room: It is a lovely looking bulding from the outside. Cedar shake siding and keeps with the charming feel of LaConner. Now the reason for only 2 Stars total. I stayed on the first floor. You can hear every footstep of people above you. The floor/ceiling squeaks with each step that people take. You can hear every word spoken when people are in the hallway outside your door. There is no sound privacy. Hence why I had to ask the front desk for earplugs, which they had at the ready. The power outlets were worn out as another reviewer noted and your power cords for phones, etc. don't stay in place so it was difficult to charge my devices. Sorry to say, but the pillows and sheets were worn down. And when the people around you flushed the toilet or used the shower, it was definitely heard throughout the room. To add more salt to the wound, the light fixture in our bathroom started to leak and water started pouring out of it. I presume that it was from the bathroom above us after those folks took a shower (at least I'm hoping that is where the water came from). At that point, my wife and I decided to pack up and check out. The location and staff gave this 2 stars, else it would have been just 1 star. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Myself and my two sisters booked this place a month in advance for a sister getaway weekend. When we got there we were placed in a handycap room with no tub. Okay we were willing to deal with that. Then we tried to turn on the fire place. It didn't work. Then we tried to use the toilet. That didn't work either and we were told to use the lobby bathroom for the duration of our stay. That's unacceptable in itself. We were on the 3rd floor so we would need to put a mask on and go down to use a community public bathroom during Covid and there was no offer to fix it. Wow for almost $300 this is absolutely NOT worth it. But it gets worse! The lighting was so dark we couldn't really see very well. I went to bed and only slept on half of the bed. When I woke up and had the natural light coming from the blinds I noticed something absolutely appalling and disgusting. There was blood droplets all over the bed and pubic hairs. That's when we packed up at 7:00 am and got the hell out of there. Messages to the manager have not been returned and we are absolutely disgusted in the management and cleanliness of this place. Don't waste your money. This place is unsanitary and management to not care at all. If anything it should be cleaner than ever but it's far from it. Will NEVER return or recommend this place. We are out almost $300 and our health was put at risk. Completely UNACCEPTABLE! And still crickets from the manager after multiple messages. read more

What a lovely time we had at LaConner Channel Lodge. My husband and I booked a one night getaway and we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. Well, we were so pleasantly surprised to find this hotel in beautiful condition. We stayed in a king suite with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace and view of the water. Just wonderful, the room reminded me of a sweet hotel in Cape Cod. Our room was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. Breakfast was perfect too. It's a "continental" breakfast so we didn't expect cooked eggs and bacon. All of the fruit, bagels, muffins and pastries were fresh and delicious, great coffee with real cream. And a wonderful hostess. We live close by and will definitely be taking more "getaways" to LaConner, especially in the off season when there are no crowds. read more

My husband and I just enjoyed a two night getaway at the Channel Lodge. We booked room 304 which is the top corner king bed room. It was perfect. Quiet and cozy by the fire in our room. Great views of the Channel and boats. We ordered room service from the Owl & Thistle the first night, complete with Manhattans! And we picked up Mexican from Santo Coyote (with Margaritas) the next night. The hotel was clean, everyone was masked and very professional. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have some real plates and utensils available since most meals are eaten in the room due to COVID. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning soon. read more

I'm in Anacortes for the week on business. The Team Lead made arrangements for us to stay at one of the chain hotels in nearby Burlington. However, some of us opted for this neat Lodge in nearby La Conner. The Lodge itself is an attractive wood shake building with views of the Swinomish Channel and the Rainbow Bridge. The Lodge is also within a very pretty and walkable downtown. My room is on the small side, but very comfortable and well appointed. Continental breakfast is served each morning in a very pretty area on the second floor. The room coffee is also surprisingly good! read more

This awesome little spot meant to be spent with your significant other. The place is simpls, but its very clean, quiet, relaxing, romantic and the staff are awesome! It may not be a 5-star looking hotel, but the experiencr sure is. Its right downtown and by the channel so everything including shops and restaurants are walkable. The staff were fabulous and the whole town of LaConner is so much fun. Great little shops and eateries combine with gorgeous waterfront walks. Loved every minute we got to spend there. read more

My wife and I travel often and stay in alot of different places, including owning two different timeshares, Club Wyndham and VI-Resorts. Although I don't usually leave reviews, I had to leave this one. This is not a picky review, but an honest one. This could be a nice place to stay with a few needed upgrades. For the price per night, we paid over $1,000.00 for three nights, this Lodge falls far short of expectations. From the small, dated 24" televisions in the rooms, the tiny refrigerators that are insufficient for multiple night stays, the hot water that bearly gets close to lukewarm for showering, and which made using the jacuzzi useless, which my wife really wanted to use but couldn't, because the water would be cold by the time it got full enough, the toilets are small with round seats which is an uninviting tight fit for men when we need to sit and they're much too low for large or elderly people that have any difficullty getting up from such low positions, (they need to install taller, elongated toilets), miniture ironing boards that are difficult to use, even the low budget furnishings from the metal mattress platform with sheet metal sides that ring like a bell if you foot or anything else hit it, to the cheap tiny flimsey nightstands and lighting and finally the cold "continental breakfast" offering which doesn't even compare to some of the budget hotels we've visited. The rooms a very small compared to the images on the website which makes them look spacious. This was our first and last time staying here. read more

We came hIm to celebrate our anniversary , I was excited , we got a room with a jacuzzi tub. I called day prior and I was told I could come check in at 1. We showed up at 3 at noRmal check in time . Billy, at the front desk was super abrupt and said our room wasn't ready yet and to sit down , I asked her to help me understand we were told our room would be done by 1. She pointed the chairs and told me to sit( mind yiu there were no lines or anyone waiting ) I asked her not to speak to me like I was a dog. This was an important day and the attitude was not needed . I said I do not underStand why you are being so short with me and she rolled her eyes and said she would get the manager . When the manager came she said these people do not want to deal with me and stormed off. In the midst of her fit , I explained we never said apparently it is us she doesn't want to deal with we are just trying to get a time frame in our room that we were told would be ready and I'm now not sure I want to stay anywhere this is acceptable . The manager Lori apologized and said she would correct it while the employee continue to sigh and roll her eyes. All we did was walk in the door to be treated like an inconvience , we got a refund . Refuse to stay anywhere to be treated like this ... cannot even imagine what would happen if we needed towels or something. Looking for a celebration instead treated like crap. Not sure how anyone can keep people who can actually afford this place, coming back . Thanks for destroying my 20 year wedding anniversary ! read more

Unfortunately one bad apple can ruin the bunch, and there was one staff member that was incredibly cold, not accommodating and difficult to work with. She was not customer minded.
