    Fort Casey Inn

Fort Casey Inn is a very nice and quaint place to stay. Old military officers quarters (houses) renovated into homes to stay while you're on vacation or just passing through. Owned and operated by Seattle Pacific University. We were surprised to be greeted by three deer in the yard when we arrived. Very reasonable rates to bring the whole family. I will give this a 5-star based on the fact that it is nicely theme decorated, extremely unique and very secluded. No need to check in at a front desk, key left in a lock-box for you. A wonderful and peaceful retreat.

They even provided us with a list of the restaurants and things to do in town. The view from the balcony outside our room was chef's kiss! The bed was comfortable, the tv had Roku, and it was fun to play around with the colors of the flames in the "fireplace." The room was a bit small, but that didn't matter so much, since this is a bed and breakfast stay. The breakfast was delicious and filling. Breakfast entrees change every day, and on our day we had a hearty, flavorful bacon quiche. They did offer other options, like spinach quiche, or a gluten free breakfast (I think it was an omelette that day), which is very considerate. We also were given a fruit and yogurt bowl, and what I think was chocolate chip pound cake. Coffee was continuously poured into our cups. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Coupeville!

From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with such grace & warmth. The rooms were exquisite with everything you could ever need and more! Seeing the view of the town and the water took our breath away! The breakfast that was provided was masterful! We were lucky to enjoy it all in such a beautiful setting. Perfect location as well! We walked easily down to the water off the center of town, shops, coffee & had a wonderful dinner only a block away at Ciao, which we had great Italian Food in a warm friendly environment (Try the Cioppino & Pizza, it's to die for!). we will be dreaming about this place for the rest of forever and that is not an exaggeration…read more ok so the backstory: we did NOT plan to stay here. my partner got a bad migraine on our drive home to Seattle and we suddenly needed a dog-friendly place to stay, immediately, on short notice. we found captain whidbey in a bit of a desperate scramble and oh my god it literally changed our lives. we stayed in one of the cabins and it was PERFECTION. like every single detail: the local treats they leave out, the robes, the fireplace, the cozy bed with a view of the actual ocean. i just laid there in disbelief (with a big ol smile) that this was real life. stunning doesn't even cover it. and THEN. the restaurant. oh my GODDDDDD. the cherry on top of the most perfect accidental stay. the food was creative and beautifully executed and the service was just incredible: so warm and personal. they were SO accommodating to my many dietary restrictions without a single moment of awkwardness, which honestly made me want to cry a little (in a grateful way). also!!! BREAKFAST DELIVERED TO YOUR CABIN IN THE MORNING!!! they just bring it right to your door and you eat it in your robe by the fire and look at the ocean and you think "yes. this is it. (in the words of the wise Hannah Montana) this is the life." my partner and i loved it so much we are now genuinely considering having our wedding here. will start saving up now (lol) but truly if you ever have the chance to stay here, do not hesitate for even one second. just be warned it will change your life and you will be able to think of nothing else for weeks (possibly even months) after

Service was good but they were very busy and seemed short staffed so drink orders were not speedy. However, they weren't so slow you felt totally abandoned! We complained that the bed was super hard and felt like sleeping on the floor so they offered a refund which was nice for the rest of the time but we could not afford to change so we stayed and dealt with it which I would have left a four star review for the customer service but after finding out they blocked us, it is the true one star review because of multiple factors. They are not insulated well so you can hear everything your neighbor does so we didn't sleep well because of the bed plus noise. The place had no silverware at all yet it had a knife and cutting board with wine opener? It was also dirty, we had to clean the sink which had brown crud all over the bottom which wiped away easily showing the cleaning service does the absolutely bare minimum and likely doesn't really scrub anything, the tea kettle had white crust all on the inside and same with the coffee maker so I had to clean both myself as well. The heater was great but the chairs for the table were super unstable and cannot support an adult. The view was great despite being blocked by power lines. Parking was perfect. We would not stay here again given the owners poor ability to accept anything but a five star review and the uncomfortable bed.

We stayed this weekend in the Shaharazad suite. My favorite part was it had a giant jacuzzi tub, a huge double headed walk in shower and also a deck to enjoy the views from! Another great bonus is it had a small kitchen, the fridge was especially convenient to hold leftovers etc. We only stayed one night but I'd love to go back and spend 2-3 nights as it was very relaxing and a perfect spot to enjoy some time away from home. Great find in Coupeville!

This is a review only of the restaurant…read more I don't mind a $216 price point ($180 is the advertised price and a mandatory 20% service fee is tacked on) for a special event prix fixe menu. However, at that price I need to be blown away. The food was good when we went recently, but absolutely nothing gave me an "OMG" moment. Most disappointing, though, was the wine flight (additional $80). Wines were fine but not exceptional. One pour came with a healthy portion of sediment. I asked the sommelier if it was an unfiltered wine to which she answered yes. However, the scrutiny we gave this wine resulted in a different server bringing a new pour from a newly opened bottle. This had much better clarity and improved flavor. Thank you, but shame on the sommelier. Good enough experience at an exceptional price results in value too low for my dining dollar.

Every dish was thoughtfully arranged and delicious. My favorite was the Dungeness crab dish. Kudos to the chef for single-handedly providing delicious meal for us! We will be back!
