Beautiful and relaxing Bed N Breakfast!! Very quaint and cozy home with a beautiful garden bluff view. In the morning you can hear all the birds chirping in the morning which was just utter serenity! The hosts were very friendly and the freshly made breakfast treats in the morning were a nice touch. It was a spacious unit and I enjoyed the decor in the rooms. The heated bathroom floor was a nice addition that my wife enjoyed as well! Great place for couples enjoying a trip in Whidbey island. read more

This place should be an icon in the area. Start with the view. Beautiful trees and gardens, picturesque panoramic look at the Sound from the balcony... Every possible need provided, coffee, scones, plenty of TV (but really if you're here to watch TV, you're doing it wrong), even a free taste of the owner's own wine label. The sounds in this place, far removed from the city, we woke up to birds singing (even saw an eagle fly by) and water flowing. It's truly serene. The owner was friendly, helpful but not intrusive, available but not suffocating. She quickly texted back answers to my couple of questions. The sun in the morning is enough to wake you gently but not shocking... I could go on but suffice it to say this place is a hidden gem in Washington. read more

Kathy, the owner, greeted us with delicious home made chocolate chip cookies. My boyfriend and I stayed in the spacious and comfortable Cicero room. With little light pollution on North Whidbey, star gazing is brilliant and mesmerizing, especially in the relaxing hot tub. Soft robes and Croc sandals are provided. In the morning, we enjoyed an idyllic view and stunning sunrise while a hearty breakfast was served in our room. Several scenic attractions (i.e. Deception Pass) are just a short jaunt away. read more

I would like to encourage anyone that wants to escape from the craziness of this world we are living in PLEASE check out this amazing getaway. We absoluetly fell in love with our accomadations and the seriously sweet owners. I give them a 5 star rating as this is a most tranquil place to unwind from traffic, sirens and the everyday stresss we all tend to go through at times. Their breakfast in the morning is simply super super yummy! The room was very clean with a spectacular view and endless grounds to stroll through. The view was breathtaking! My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed this place. It was fun walking through the beautiful gardens full of flowers and trees on the way to the hammock and chairs set on the edge of the bluff. The owners were incredibly friendly and very knowledgable of the island, both historically and for things to do/see. We'll be back in the near future for sure. read more

The reviews are spot on. After driving over most of the island, the views from The Bluff on Whidbey cannot be beaten! Kathy greeted us at our car and invited us in for fresh-baked cookies and hot tea. My bf and I recently started the Paleo diet, so we had to graciously (but with great difficulty) decline the cookies. After learning this, Kathy asked what we could eat and made us a special breakfast the next morning which was both Paleo-friendly and delicious! The room, the hot tub, the hammock, and the views are all spectacular! Larry and Kathy were born to run a B&B! I'm from the South, so if I know one thing, it's hospitality :) And Larry and Kathy have it in spades! Our first stay...but not our last! read more

We just spent three wonderful nights at The Bluff on Whidbey and we had a GREAT time. The hosts are so very gracious and will do everything they can to make your stay the best it can be. My bf and I went on a random getaway to Whidbey/Deception Pass for the weekend and stayed here at the last minute. Such good service, great rooms with breathtaking views, and yummy breakfast food! We were on I-5 N en route to Deception Pass on a Saturday morning, calling around to every B&B in the area. Either everything was already booked, or what was left was super expensive. Fortunately, after about half a dozen calls later, we found this place on tripadvisor. PROS: 1. Relatively inexpensive. I believe it was $150 for a Saturday night. 2. Cozy, spacious rooms, with views of Baker across the water. Our room was probably 600-700 sq ft, including a sitting area. 3. Great service--tea/coffee/cookies served upon arrival, breakfast in bed (if you please), bathrobes and crocs to wear down to the hot-tub, etc. 4. Delicious breakfast, in my opinion. They served us baked grapefruit and open-faced toasted croissant sandwiches topped with a yummy salmon scramble. I loved it but my bf didn't. CONS: 1. I wish breakfast was served later. There were only two time slots for breakfast. 8:30 or 9am. Given that we stayed over daylight savings weekend, a later time slot would have been nice. 2. Perhaps more options for food. My bf ate the grapefruit and that was it. read more

This is a gorgeous place if you need r&r. The views can't be beat. You can sit on two chairs overlooking the bay and watch the various birds and wildlife. The resident cat and dog are friendly and incredibly well- behaved. (I LOVED the dog!). There's also a hammock, but I preferred the chairs. The rooms are spotless and decorated simply and tastefully. Very cozy. The room has its own exit, so you can enter and leave without bothering the hosts. The hosts are extremely friendly and knowledgable about things to do and see on the island. We stayed for two nights at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast and loved it! We stayed in the Cortez room which was actually 2 rooms including a small kitchenette. There was a balcony off the living room with an amazing view of the water, the lovely gardens and even Mt. Baker, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine that the owners provided. The owners, Robin and Jim own a vineyard and provide a small bottle of both white and red wine. Breakfast was a simple selection of baked goods but all were freshly baked and delicious. We have stayed in B & B's before but the Bluff on Whidbey was the best we have ever seen. If you are in the San Juan Island and want a serene, lovely place to stay give them a call! read more

This is the 2nd time my husband and I have stayed here..I am taking the time to write this review while we are here..which tells you how much I wanted to write this..This place is amazing! The room is basically a loft apartment...beautiful view..fireplace...and "at home" kinda feel.. the owners greet you with homemade cookies which are sooooo good....they are very sweet people..and the breakfast is delicious...I was so stressed when I got here...I've been here for maybe 2 hours and I am so relaxed...We asked for a early check in when we got into town and he asked if I could possibly wait for a half an hour...I said sure, since it was 3 hours before the normal check in time..when we got here he told me thank u for waiting the 1/2 hour and explained that the reason he wanted us to wait was so that he could make our fresh baked cookies for us...:-) I would recommend this place highly to anyone!! We are definately coming back! read more
