On a positive note, the inn is conveniently located and clean. Areas that could use improvement are…read more1) our King room was cramped and the bathroom was tiny. The bed was pretty soft 2) the breakfast buffet was adequate but the hot breakfast serving was scanty. We were served one piece of bacon broken in half ( I assume to make it look like you're getting 2 pieces) and half a piece of toast with what looked like one scrambled egg. I understand not wanting to waste food but the portion felt inadequate. I ordered the plate just so I could give my husband my portions since I don't eat breakfast. 3) The innkeeper is a bit brusque. If I were going back to La Conner, I would look for a different place to stay.

Sitting in front of a beautiful stone fireplace with a quiet fire, I am so glad The Wild Iris Inn…read morecaught my attention. Located just a few blocks up from the Swinomish Channel, this low-key haven is perfect for travelers seeking homey warmth in the splendid waterfront town of La Conner. This review would be unreadably long if I listed every wonderful amenity, so let's focus on the absolute highlight: breakfast. It is quite popular, so I highly recommend showing up early. I was greeted by a lovely hostess, Willow, who walked me through the morning's featured dish--a delicious breakfast burrito. She happily accommodated my preferred diet by preparing mine without bacon. Alongside a strong, flavorful brew from the coffee urn, they offered sweet, juicy watermelon wedges, melon cubes, and a highly satisfying selection of sweet breads. While the addition of a few savory breads like sourdough or whole wheat would have been nice, the omission was practically unnoticed among such a beautiful array of delicacies. In conclusion: go for the cozy atmosphere, but absolutely stay for the breakfast!

The location is excellent for walking around town, though the view from our large room was far less…read morethan spectacular...just the street, the rear of buildings, and an asphalt parking lot. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was adequate, though the only hot food was oatmeal. Cookies out all day in the office was a nice touch. TV with local channels was wonderful. Bed was very comfortable. But... Little refrigerator was very noisy and woke us up more than once when trying to sleep. There was a step up to the bathroom which sometimes became annoying...especially for us "old people" in our 70's. We don't need accommodation, but a level floor throughout would be nice. There were times when the guests above us sounded like they were going to fall through the ceiling (one of the downsides to staying on the first floor, I guess). Bathroom had a step-in tub and shower, while a level shower only would be preferred. And most important to mention, $300+ dollars a night was unbelievably expensive for this quaint, but rather dated inn; that's the most we've ever paid for lodging...even in some big cities! And I saw lower prices for rooms in the same inn after we returned home. We enjoyed our visit to LaConner, but sadly, we'll never return.

Great location, can walk to everything. Rooms are nice and clean, vaulted ceiling. Very comfy!…read moreRoomy bathroom. Be aware, floors are very slippery in socks! About a 1 block walk to the waterfront boardwalk and various eateries. Nice continental breakfast in the morning. Excellent private parking behind the inn. The best thing was the friendliness.

Stayed for a mid-week overnight getaway. You come here for…read moresome history and a view of the channel. The walls are a little thin for noise, but that's because the building is so old. The staff seem happy and friendly. We arrived at 12:50pm and they didn't have our room ready at that time, but had it ready by 1:10pm. I felt like breakfast was above average for a hotel continental breakfast- they had nice fresh berries and fruit. Would return for our next visit to La Conner.

What a lovely place to stay! My mom and I would always see this spot from restaurants or boats and…read moretalk about how lovey it is, so we finally decided to stay here and had a great time. The hotel is definitely old. They use big brass keys instead of key cards, but some of the old features add to the charm. We had a corner room with a great balcony and a view. The room was spacious and lovely! Comfy bed, amazing view. Free breakfast was pretty standard- we did love that they had gluten free bread and fresh berries and they were could enjoy them from our room. The staff was friendly and helpful! They offer wine service at the counter, but not from 6-9pm. We thought this was kind of funny, but maybe they're encouraging you to go to the wine shop down the street during that time. The hotel has a lovely outdoor area right on the water that we enjoyed. This was a great place to stay, but very pricey. Two nights cost almost $700 but had the same comfort and amenities as a hotel that would cost about half that.
