The Langley Motel is really a piece of older Langley, WA. I do't think it changed since I was a police officer in Langley. It is a quaint older property. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Having a kitchen is a bonus in a tourist town. I met my wife in Langley in 1975, not at this motel, but at "Skippers of Langley" where I was having hot chocolate with the Chief of Police. Anyway, back to the motel. When we visit with my wife's sister, owner of A Special Touch Florist, this is where we stay. It gives us the opportunity to cook for ourselves, or walk into the small downtown area for dinner. It is definitely a hidden little local gem of a hotel. We stayed three nights in room 4 during mid-August and really enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have the living room / kitchen area separate from the bedroom. We loved all the hooks for clothes (both in the bedroom & by the front door); most places never have enough. The entire room was quite clean. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how nice this small hotel was. The room that I stayed in was roomy with all the requirements needed for an extended stay (stove, refrigerator, pots, pans, silverware & etc.). It reminded me of a 1 bedroom apartment more than a hotel. The bed was very comfortable along with the reclining chair that I fell asleep in first. Would definitely stay there again and recommend you do so as well. The view in the morning from the windows across the water with mountains in the background was great! read more

I was not expecting this to be motel to be spectacular. We arrived to a dark to a dark ,dingy looking motel. Before we even opened the door there was a strange smell outside our door. The room was located next to the road and it was really loud. The room was dark, the ceiling was extremely low and the room smelled musty. We found lint a d hair on our sheets and in the shower. The shower was extremely small and looked really old. The Television did not work. My, friend and I went through the entire room and cleaned everything with sanitizing wipes, only then did we feel comfortable staying there. Thank goodness it was only for one night. The owner came by the room and was not very apologetic . I will definitely not be staying here again. read more

I stayed at the motel in September, after Labor Day with my husband. It definitely had a "campy feel," but everything was clean. Every room was occupied over the weekend, but I did not hear our "neighbors." There is a little patio out front of each room, outfitted with a little table and chairs and felt darling surrounded by mature plants. The view out the back windows is east, out to the water, and we experienced a beautiful sunrise. The bed and pillows was both very clean and comfortable. We did not cook in the kitchen, but it had all of the basic amenities to make quick meals (including a microwave). Our internet connection worked well our entire stay. The little town of Langley is a short (5-7 minute walk) from the motel, so we enjoyed coffee, dinner, and wine tasting without having to drive. My only complaint is the tiny shower stall, which is short and small, and was an especially tight fit for my hubby (~6'2" tall), and the love seat, though also clean, lacked any cushion. However, for the price and location I can overlook these inadequacies and would stay there again! read more

Clean rooms, no frills but perfectly located within walking distance of downtown. We appreciated the separate living room from the bedroom, and the patio set outside. No daily turndown/cleaning service, although the woman on site was more than happy to help out when we had questions/needs. Only small disappointment was that we went online to reserve a specific room (after looking through pictures) and when we arrived were booked for another, despite the confirmation emails stating we'd be in the one we picked. Not a big deal though, they are mostly the same with slightly different appliances/configurations. No A/C but there was a lovely breeze with the windows open. Close to grocery store, park, restaurants, and all that downtown offers. Great value! read more

Absolute gem, this place. Took my girlfriend on a surprise early valentines day vacation (work valentines day). The interwebs told me langley on whidbey was a good spot so i decided to drive from auburn in the ice to the mukilteo ferry to make our journey to this frozen island that looked so beautiful covered in snow. Looked around for reservations and this place was by far the cheapest out of every place i looked at, which would have worried me but the reviews were great so I rolled the dice. Not disappointed at all. It's a bit further up from the water than the other places so the only thing really missing was the view. (Though you can still see it out your back window.) But that's nothing. Everything else was great. It's a small family run place with only 5 rooms but the rooms are more like little apartments. Our room - room 1- had a living room that also had a bed, a nice dresser, a couch, a comfy chair, and some nice lamps. There is a kitchen stocked with everhthing you need other than food. Stove, oven, pots, pans, cutting board, silverware, coffee, salt, pepper, plates, bowls, cups, big fridge, and a freezer. Don't really get all of that in a hotel most of the time. We barely even went in the bedroom. They also provide you with a little binder that looks to be put together by them that has a list of everything to do in the area. Unfortunately for us, literally everything in town was closed save for the grocery store and the wine bar (check my review on that as well) due to the ice. We made the best of it though. Got some wine from the wine bar, went to the grocery store to get stuff to make a cheese plate and a frozen pizza and ate back at the motel (oven really came in handy). The lady we talked to (i think the owner) was very nice as well. You can tell they care about your experience amd we had a great time. Definitely a good spot to check out if you're staying in langley. read more

The Langley Motel is the only affordable place to stay in Langley. If you don't want to spend $150, $250+ per night and are willing to have minimal comforts this is the place to stay. It's an easy walk from the Langley Motel to downtown Langley with nice views along the way. However, the motel rooms are small, the ceilings are low and the showers are a tight fit. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the living room featured cable TV and there was a fully stocked kitchen. However, the free wi-fi was not possible, I couldn't get a signal. Well, I got a secure signal from a nearby hotel but that was no help. Additionally, the front doors could use better locks (actually new doors would be best) but the place seems well-maintained. The Langley Motel is in a quiet location and if you're going to spend a minimal amount of time in your room its a good choice for Langley. There is a pretentiousness to lodging (and dining) in Langley but that does not include the Langley Motel. This is a nice, quiet spot that is a welcome alternative to the Inns and such that populate Langley. If you want to relax all day and have others take care of your needs you should stay elsewhere. But if you're going to be exploring the area and only need a place to relax and sleep after a busy day the Langley Motel will serve your purposes. It won't impress your friends and co-workers as much as the names of other hotels but your bank account will be better for it. read more

We loved the view of the Sound and the easy walk to downtown. We did a carless vacation, so the proximity to several bus routes was a major necessity. The price is unbeatable and the room is simple, cozy, and uncluttered. It was very private, with lovely thick curtains and rooms off the street. The room looked as it did on the motel's website, save for the size. The suite is very compact. The ceilings slope, and are very low in the kitchen and bath. We did not mind this, but if you are much taller than 6 feet, you are going to have a problem. We made good use of the tiny, but equipped kitchen, and were delighted to find salt, pepper, sugar, and coffee in the cabinet and trays of ice cubes in the freezer. There were two wine glasses; one huge one for red wine, and one tiny one for sweet wines. I felt goofy serving wine in these disproportionate glasses. There were literally 7 different lamps and lights in the kitchen and living space, so the room was always well and warmly lit. My traveling companion was comfortable on the sofa, but I was not. The bedroom was very cute and cozy, with nice lighting and a fluffy duvet. I slept well, but woke up a little stiff. My traveling companion, on the other hand was uncomfortable during the night. The awesome built-in shelve in the bathroom hall were perfect for storing toiletries. The shower is indeed tiny. There was a full length mirror on the door next to the toilet, and this really bothered my traveling companion. With the thin walls and open windows, our voices carried more than we realized, and a neighboring guest came over to confront us. Mood ruined and sitting in silence, we could hear her through the wall. This felt unfair and irritating, especially when the owner came by our room the next night to say the neighbor had complained.To her credit, the owner handled the situation in the exact right way; she was polite and friendly. That being said, the whole thing was a real mood killer. read more

I stayed here one night during the Summer and was very pleased. Okay, first of all, it is not a fancy hotel with amenities. It is a basic motel, but in a delightful setting, with lots of trees and other shrubbery. The room was clean but small. Yes, the bathroom is minuscule, but how much time do you really spend on the toilet, or in the shower? On the map it didn't appear that the motel was near the water but it actually is, and the view ain't bad, but you have to go to the adjoining field to enjoy the view. There were lots of little rabbits running free, and that made our stay all the more fun. The walk to town is less than ten minutes away, and it is a delightful (dare I say 'quaint'?) town, with a small main street. The owner seems like a nice person, and very understandable, as we were a few minutes late checking out walking back from having a great breakfast in town All in all, a wonderful stay, and I would definitely come back to the Langley Motel. read more

We stayed here 2 years ago in room #5. It was clean then. This past weekend was different. Toe nail clippings on half wall above our bed, dirty linens, looked like pizza sauce on one of pillow cases! Cobwebs on ceiling fan & walls. Had to wash the pink mold off dish drainer to wash dishes. Forgot my prescription glasses, left vm, but no response from management. Very disappointed. read more

The Langley was easy to check in, the room was clean. It has a great location close to downtown. Behind is a breathtaking view of the water. The individual area out front to sit in the shade was very nice for meals on a hot day. During our stay it was very quiet, which made it perfect for our needs. The bed was very hard so we didn't sleep in, which got ou out to the many beaches and water spots to enjoy the views. I would recommend for the price alone. A word of warning for the future...the lot next door has just broken ground to build 4 townhouses, we did not notice much noise but as the project continues, I think it could be an issue for late sleepers. If I were to book again I would inquire about the progress and if the construction is going on. Our stay Langley Motel was everything we had hoped for. We stayed in Suite ONE.a very IKEA space. Walk in through the private patio to the big living space with a queen bed, a love seat and a comfy chair,a coffeetable, a tv which we did not use and a dinning table with four chairs. Through a doorway down a step to the galley style fully equipped kitchen. Toaster, microwave, stove, oven and full size fridge, basic thrift store pots and pans and nicer than usual plates and glasses, a teapot, knives in a block, scissors, cutting board, dish soap and rack, paper towels,coffeemaker, ice in the freezer, salt pepper, toxic fake creamer, sugar and coffee grounds, not packets. Plenty of counter space. A fold down table in the wall for two, but only one stool was there. The bathroom, clean but cramped and strangely laid out. Low quality soap and shampoo. The water was not super hot, but hot enough,the towels are scratchy. The light switch automatically turns on the fan but there is a second light with a pull cord. The view out the bathroom window is a field and then the water, they need to turn the whole building around so the view can be enjoyed longer than while brushing your teeth! The bedroom was great with two side tables with lamps and shelving and hooks on the wall for clothing, instead of a dresser.The beds are firm and the comforter is NOT polyester! Four fluffy pillows on each bed. Laminate flooring throughout., nice but a little squeaky in places. Except in the bedroom and bathroom, all of the lights are turned on individually by a pull cord or switch. All the rooms had huge windows that open for a breeze, no ac, good, but fans and breezes. We did not hear each other in the night. The ceilings are low and it is dark in there, but since it was the hottest week of the summer, that helped to keep it cooler. Nicely updated and comfortable. This suite wraps around the "office" which is really just the storage closet for housekeeping, she comes in at 10:30 and is gone at 2. The door locks automatically, every time, so hold on to your key! The patio was private with a big table and chairs and umbrella for shade and lights at night. Beautiful landscaping. Certainly not "fancy" but cozy, cute and clean, just how we like it. We were concerned that we were so close to the road, but it never bothered us. It is an easy short walk in to the commercial part of Langley where there are great restaurants and shops and the Star Store for groceries, a cute little Farmers market on Friday afternoon. Be sure to eat at THE BRAEBURN for breakfast or lunch, PRIMA BISTRO and PORTICO for dinner , KALAKALA MERCANTILE for dinner drinks and coffee. Try and find THE ROAMING RADISH for the best seasonal pub meal(drive). Take a drive to Coupeville and dine at the OYSTERCATCHER, 2 days before that call and order the best bread ever! Will certainly return once the construction has stopped. read more

What a wonderful little hotel and nice staff. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The price is amazing for the amenities. Especially when compared to most of the other options on the island. I measured and if it was 500 feet closer to the water I am sure these rooms would be at least double the price. The owner took the time to greet us and give us some local suggestions. The housekeeper was sweet as punch and didn't rush us out of the room. I am on a mission to island hop the sound and check out every island, but I would strongly consider doing a quick vacay at this hotel again. They are so close to bus routes and also a nice walking distance to town; a few blocks walk and you are in the heart of downtown Langley. At no point did I ever feel stuck or regret not bringing my car. My suggestion would be to take the ferry across and grab a taxi (which are cheap) or bus (which are free). Leave the car behind with the hustle and bustle of urban and suburban life. read more

We were upgraded without charge and generously accommodated by our request for an early check in. Clean, adorable, cozy cottage room. Room 1 has two very separate rooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen. I was shocked at the accommodations: a fan, wifi, dogs allowed, ice in the freezer. Close proximity/walking distance to the town, wild bunnies & birdies chirping outside our window. A little farther from downtown than other hotels, but it's not more than a ten minute walk along a sidewalk separated from the road with a gorgeous view. I looked at so many options and finally decided that the obvious choice was the best; the Langley Motel was in the right location and had good prices. And I was charmed with my stay there! The bedroom and sitting/eating/kitchen area are separate, so the whole set-up is a little like a suite. And the kitchen was simple but well equipped. In the end, the upscale market in Langley supplied what I needed for a simple but really lovely dinner. This place is simple but sweet. Yes, the shower is tiny but everything was nicely done and totally clean. I stayed 5 nights. The Langley Motel was clean and quiet and it has a kitchen. I liked the cottage feeling and decor. Nothing fancy but comfortable. On the down side I couldn't get the internet from my room as the signal was too weak. From some other rooms the signal was good. The deal breaker though is that I decided not to stay a 6th night and the owner said she wouldn't charge me the extra night but she did. Not nice. read more
