Wow!! What a place!! So beautiful, so special, with a wonderful marina that show cases the history of Wharf Street. We stayed in Loft #6 a very well appointed living space with room for 4. Or 2 couples. The loft features a king bed and its own bathroom complete with a shower. The main level features a nice simple kitchen with full size refrigerator, dishwasher and 2 burner electric cook top. The living space is comfy with an oversized couch two comfortable chairs and a perfectly sized dining noon table with room for four. There is also a queen size bed and a full bathroom also with shower. The views are spectacular over looking the Saratoga passage while off in the distance lurk the Cascade mountains. We were so lucky to have experienced both moon and sun rises each day during our stay!! The frolicking seals, numerous water foul and two crotchety herons welcomed us with all their natural glory!! The check in process was easy and couldn't have been more convenient!! We arrived late and entered our room with our issue. We were greeted with some delicious treats, cookies, gummies, trail mix and pop corners!! Such a lovely welcome surprise. There were fresh cut flowers and plenty of warm blankets to enjoy a lovely evening or morning sit in the nicely decorated deck outside. Couple of hot tips for those with an EV. Be sure to have the "Blink" app on your phone as there are 2 charges within walking distance through town. We waited till around 11:00pm when the chargers were vacant. We parked and charged the car as we slept. Grabbing the car around 5:30am when the charge ended. 7.6kw charges. Not fast but in this scenario worked very well for us. $17.00 bucks and the tank was full for another day of island exploration!! read more

We stayed in Suite 5 and it was amazing! Super modern and beautifully appointed. We woke up and had coffee on the deck and saw seals every morning! Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. What cool place. Awesome room that was well thought out. We were welcomed with a bright friendly smiling face, and a glass of wine. We have stayed in so many places and have said that. If only the company/owners would pay a little more attention to details. The Boatyard Inn has paid attention and boy does it show. It is just the little things. Like hooks for jackets, art, how people might sit and enjoy the view rather than the TV. Talking about the view. It is awesome with the Cascade Range behind the sound. I love the boats docked near by. The room was quite and relaxing. We are just a short walk to town with everything you could need. We will be coming back. read more

Picturesque and modern architecture with great room features (except for the paper thin cheaply silverware, way too uncomfortable to warrant placement in a $250/night room!). Right on water, but in the protected bay off a narrow channel, there are few wave sounds, despite the room being right-on-the-water at high tides. Comfortable great light or cool dark with shades turned, and very comfortable king bed! One big complaint - very bad adherence to local Covid-19 protocols - cleaning crew (3 persons I saw) wore no masks, and no time between renting room out to next guest! read more

We've stayed here several times over the years, but this was the first time we stayed in the Driftwood room. As usual, the LOCATION, easy access to town and incredible views are big bonuses! Positives Driftwood rooms are away from the other buildings - more privacy. Very Comfy Bed. Two balconies!! - One has a gas grill. Fireplace is very toasty. Full kitchen, no oven but 2 gas burners, and microwave. Good sized refrigerator for small space. Needs Work Couch and chair are very uncomfortable. The cushions are constantly sliding down. They look like outdoor furniture. We've never had this problems with the other rooms. The blinds didn't work properly on two of the sliding glass doors. Kitchen cookware and cookware utensils needs to be updated. Very worn out and outdated. Still the best place to stay in Langley! read more

My girlfriend and I arrived late afternoon, Mynda greeted us (even carried one of our 50lb bags to room 12 on the 2nd floor!). The second we walked into our room, we new we found the perfect place to celebrate my 50th birthday. The room was large, clean, plenty of amenities and the view was out of this world!!! Mynda was super sweet and made is feel incredibly welcome. We woke up early to witness the prettiest sunrise we've ever seen. The calmness of the water, the sounds of the birds, the view of the mountains will remain in my memory forever. Hope to make this an annual destination. LOVED IT! read more

Spent two nights here this weekend with my husband. It was so stormy and nasty outside all we could do was light a fire, watch the water and enjoy each other's company. This was one of the best get away serve ever had together- everything was clean, cozy, comfortable, customer service was perfect. The location is great- you really can't beat a view like this- and easily walkable to town, or the beach. Our only regret was that we didn't bring our kayaks! We loved touring around Langley, the food and people were incredible. Thanks for a great stay! We'll be back for sure! read more

Our visit to the boathouse was wonderful from the start. We were greeted by the very friendly hostess who offered us a glass of wine and a choice of rooms as there was a cancellation that day. We enjoyed our wine on the private deck overlooking the water where we watched a group of seals playing. The room was clean and well appointed. There was a nice welcome basket with a selection of snacks. The walk to town was short and on a nice evening was the perfect after dinner stroll. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone going to Langley. read more

The Boatyard Inn has many things going for it. Great views, big rooms, lovely office staff, and a few new larger rooms to compete with Inn at Langley. The reason I give the establishment only two stars is because the beds in the rooms are incredibly uncomfortable. I would describe them as marshmallows. The first night of our stay my husband ended up sleeping on the couch. Next day when we questioned the manager, she said "there's a rumor that the bed in your room is uncomfortable". So we moved to another room, where the bed seemed a little firmer (I didn't disappear into the bed as much as the first one) but it still was quite mushy. My husband ended up sleeping on the floor that night. We cut our trip short and went home. Me with neck and arm pain and don't get me started on my husband. BTW - the lovely office staff contacted the owners to discuss the bed issue and the female owner replied "you just have to get used to them "(the beds). That is not an adequate or professional response. We really liked the place and are disappointed we cannot stay there anymore - because we don't like sleeping on the floor. The office manager handled the situation as best she could - refunding a portion of our costs. But unfortunately our Anniversary Get Away was ruined. So - the message here is fine place if sleep isn't important to you. read more

My girlfriend surprised me with a trip to Whidbey Island for our one year anniversary. I had never been before and was ecstatic the whole drive up from Portland! When we arrived in Langley, we oh-ed and aw-ed over how cute and quaint the town was. As we drove down the hill to the inn, our faces both lit up in smiles. The name is perfect and we personally loved the location. It felt a little rustic, but by no means was. We were greeted by Annabet and her amazingly sweet dog, Tess. We left our dog at home this trip so seeing Tess was much welcomed. We checked-in and they walked us to our adorable room. It was on the ground floor and the waves were practically lapping our deck during high tide. It was AMAZING. We fell asleep to the crashing little waves and woke up to seagulls chirping. Annabet also recommended some great places in/around Langley to see/do, which was greatly appreciated for us out-of-towners. We plan to make this a yearly tradition for us. This place is great during the cool months, but if it is a hot one, look out because the rooms have no a/c from what it looked like to me. The place is huge! We had a 2 bedroom, one bedroom is downstairs but open to the kitchen and living room. Not private, FYI...The second bedroom was upstairs in a loft area which was very cool. Fireplace in living room and great decks outside. View was beautiful, but some construction was being done with a deck so it wasn't the best. The beds are comfy, place is inviting and the lady that helped us was outstanding. The only issue we had was the steps and the beds being so high up, trying to get a handicap person into these beds and up the stairs is not happening. If you need to get into these beds and your under 5'2" bring a step stool. lol read more

We loved this location. My husband and I needed a short vacation to relax and rest. This place was just the spot! It is for sure the best place we have stayed at in a very long time. It is extremely clean, a large deck, comfortable bed and nice bedding. The sun rise is all you need . We stayed in unit 5 and it was the best! Hearing the water lap up against the shore was heaven. It is a short walk to town and the Useless Cafe has the best coffee and food. We did the glass blowing and it was awesome. The Star Store has all you need! Wonderful.. We will return in Sept. I've stayed here a few times over the past couple of years. Nice accommodations. Views can't be beat - it's waterfront (some rooms). My only concern with this place is how wasteful the water usage is here. The rooms I've stayed in have full flow faucets and showers. To the point where it's extremely wasteful. My suggestion would be to install water saving faucets in all the rooms. In this day and age there is just no need for the type of faucets. We need to be more water conscious. This is a wonderful place. We stayed in the Marina suite. The view is amazing we could see the Cascades mountain range from our room window. The patio is feet from the beach and we could hear the lapping if waves on the sand in the evening. We walked the private beach and then the 5 minutes to town for food. Love the location. Right on the beach. We had room 9 which isn't directly on the water but it's still nice. Tastefully decorated, coffee maker with good coffee, lots of teas, free pastries in the morning ( not the cheap ones, but really tasty ones), nice deck, comfortable queen size bed and soft pillows. I just spent the past weekend here and was totally impressed! My boyfriend and I stayed in Studio 9. It isn't directly on the water but still has beautiful views. Also, the bed is raised so there is a beautiful view of the water from bed as well. Since we were there in February it was a little too cold to enjoy the balcony but we both agreed in warmer months it would be awesome. We will definitely be back! read more

Loved this place. Get the WATERFRONT MARINA SUITE, you won't regret it. TV and heating controls are a bit jenky.

We took our two girls (2 and 4 years old) and rented one of the lofts (room 2) at the Boatyard Inn. It was very spacious, very clean and the people at the front desk and the housekeeping crew were very helpful and friendly. It was the dead of winter and heaters kept the room nice and warm. The loft has two bedrooms, one upstairs and one down, and two clean but small bathrooms. It was wonderful to hear the waves at night. You can easily walk a block up Wharf Street and you are right in the center of Langley. Nice, low-key, reasonable price. We'll be back. read more

Just completed a stay at the Boatyard Inn in Langley, Wa for a night before returning to Seattle with my wife, 5 year-old and my mother and father in-law. Two days before our stay I received a call from the assistant manager informing me the unit we originally booked was going through some work and wanted to know if I wanted two separate units instead. I hesitantly agreed but since she offered both units for the price of the one we wanted originally it actually sounded better in the long run for my situation. It turned out exactly that way. The in-laws had a place of their own and my family had a place of our own and both units were large with adequate furnishings, large decks, fireplaces, kitchenettes, wonderful view of the water and a little beach that my daughter enjoyed even in the rainy weather. There weren't any other customers that night so the place was quiet and peaceful. Annabet, the assistant innkeeper was wonderfully friendly! read more

We have stayed here for at least 3 different visits..the rooms are large and have good feeling combined with the waterfront location. located adjacent to a small marina and beach. Great onsite staff. Only 2 stars because of a dispute over a service animal...they had a single assigned room for him and it was not available. They charged an extra $50 as I remember for the dog in another room... If they knew what the repercussions of refusing a service animal or charging extra, they would be more receptive. The charge was not a legal charge and I requested it be reviewed twice..but no reply. This should not deter average guests as most don't have that issue. The beds are soft but the room decor offsets that for us. Bottomline, it's worth the price comparatively, just don't bring a service animal. This year we may stay again and we'll see...stay tuned. read more
