We've been going there every July for 17 years. It's getting so popular we have to book a year in advance. Jim and Gail have been wonderful hosts until three years ago when they sold it to their son and daughter-in-law. No worries, they do a great job and Jim and Gail still live in PT. One thing has changed, the food. It's better. If you plan on staying there don't book in July, that's our month.

Firstly, Jim and Gail have a beautiful home, in a perfect location (5 minute walk to the town), with parking to the side of the house. When I arrived in the evening, Jim greeted me at the door, showed me my room and got me all checked in. He advised that I would be sharing the bathroom with him and Gail (I knew upon booking that it would be a shared bathroom). I asked what times they normally use the bathroom, and he let me know usually in the early morning. This was in no way an issue for me and it all worked perfectly. The bedroom (Sunflower room) was very clean and comfortable. The next morning I would be taking a trip early, so they were able to accommodate me for breakfast earlier than the 9am time, which I really appreciated from them. The breakfast on both mornings was made fresh, with fresh fruits and egg dishes. As the house is located right on the beach, I was able to take advantage of short strolls along the beach front, or just lounge in their garden. I also found the other guests very respectful and except for the breakfast preparation downstairs, this b&b was very quiet. Overall, Jim and Gail are very friendly hosts, able to give loads of suggestions for restaurants, and keep their home in amazing shape. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Port Townsend.

Growing up in New England, this place took me right back there. Beach themed decor throughout, casual and comfortable. Spent allot of time relaxing on the large covered porch listening to the waves and enjoying the view. Inn keepers were relaxed and friendly. Very clean and quiet rooms. Conveniently located just a short walk to town. 3 restaurants are a 5 minute walk. We will be back for sure!

Stayed here at the end of Aug. 2020 during the pandemic. Dave and Natalie were very warm and welcoming. This place is very charming and very clean. We felt very comfortable knowing how well Dave and Natalie took extra precautions during this time. The 2 breakfasts that we had were AMAZING! The place is in walking distance to the quaint downtown area and the views are beautiful. This place is a definite go to!

This is our stay in Port Townsend. This Vintage Hotel is…read moreover 135 years old and has as much original furniture , art and trim as possible. This is a time capsule with a reading room and a chess table. The ceiling in our room appears to be about 25 feet high with a 8 foot light on a chain. They have a red sticker downstairs that says " They love us in YELP" Nice touch....

Unfortunately for me in our 2 day stay I never saw anything of the supernatural. But I did see an immaculate hotel located right in the center of town by the water. Extremely friendly staff starting with Denise who seemed to be in charge of housekeeping. Even asked if she could help us with our bags on the way in and on the way out. Great hospitality here. This place is an immaculately preserved and restored brothel that lasted until the 1930's. Each room still has the name of the women that worked there and I've never seen anything like it. My stayed in Miss Alice's room 7. The room was huge. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. Do yourself a favor if you are doing your research right now and enjoy the magic and charm of this lovely hotel and the Lady in Blue will be very welcoming to you.

We stayed in room 6. It's an old Victorian house with a number of antique artifacts including instruments, guns, books, etc. There is no elevator - you have to climb the stairs to get to your room or downstairs to the billiards table & guest fridge. The innkeeper is extremely sweet. She welcomed us in and explained about the house. At 9am (prompt), she serves breakfast, which was a delight! It was a full 3 course meal - everything home-made (or from a local bakery). Honestly, the breakfast here was better than our dinner at a restaurant the night before! Our room was very cute - it looked like the inside of a doll house. For my husband, who is a tall man (6'2), he felt a bit claustrophobic because the ceiling comes inwards. But for my 5' self, I didn't mind. Everything was clean and had a nice presentation. They even had home-made cookies waiting! We really enjoyed our stay, and it was nice to have a sit down breakfast with the other guests and chat together. There's also a sweet doggo named Ursa who you may see putter around. For a nice weekend away from the city, this is a very cozy quaint place to stay.

Loved this place!…read more I'm giving 4 stars, but in reality, it is 4.5. Location: The location is great. You're located downtown and can walk to any shop or eatery in the area. The parking location for hotel guest is odd and in reality, can only fit two cars. So, just find a spot, park it and leave it. Take advantage and walk everywhere. The Digs: There's no attendant, so you need to book in advance with the lovely manager, Marilou. She really cares about the hotels she manages and truly wants your stay to be a memorable one. Upon arrival you will get codes for both the building and your room. Speaking of the room, when you enter, you are greeted by music playing on the radio and a few lights on. A nice, simple touch, especially after a long day of traveling. The old hotel is super clean and cozy, yet modern. It almost feels like you're staying at a friends house. This is definitely a gem in Port Townsend and I would not hesitate to stay here again. The minor "constructive criticisms" that I have are to give a good corner scrubbing along the baseboards in the bathroom and to keep the soap and shampoo fairly full to give the "illusion" that your guests are the first ones to stay there.

Every 10ish seconds I heard about 2 seconds of water running through the pipes, all night long. I have to say that this was the worst night of sleep that I have in a while. -10

[Note: no extra plush blankets provided, but the in-room heater was good]. Reviews of the water front motels in Port Townsend mentioned bed bugs which scared me and led me to book here. You should think about staying at Mansera Castle if you like character and history because the building has a palpable sense of olden times built into the architecture, the creaky stairs, the narrower door frames, and the oldest working elevator in the state (it's a bit like a freight elevator with brocade dressing). However, the lack of accessible entryway (a flight of steep stairs to get inside) and an antique elevator that is only operable by hotel staff should warn off people with limited mobility, injuries etc. I used the wonderful WiFi for a night of iPad entertainment while toasty under the covers. It was a fun experience for a night, but it might have been louder had the hotel been full. Nearing Christmas, the hotel staff had decorated the erstwhile Victorian-era wealthy resident's home parlor. This was rather charming to see and definitely not replicable in a sterile, modern hotel chain. This vast building was subsequently used as a Jesuit boarding house for decades. The hotel amenities are barebones relative to a modern hotel chain where you might expect a writing desk fitted with desk lamps, and numerous outlets, etc. My room came with TV, refrigerator, a coffee machine and insufficient wall outlets. Even the internal phone system was non existent. Downstairs lobby has coffee in the morning. No breakfast included in the price. The whole historical immersion experience is unique however.
