We enjoyed the proximity to the town and the amazing view of the water from the rooftop deck. The kids enjoyed the freedom to wander around town and look in the shops, and enjoyed the game store. We watched the parade that must have had everyone in town participating! We are not from a small town. This was fun for us. The king-sized bed was comfortable, and we had a room with a soaking tub and a giant shower. The pull-out couch was "ok" according to my son. One thing I will say that was missing was a common area indoors for people to meet up and socialize outside of the restaurant. We have traveled often with these families, and we like to find areas to play cards and spend time together. The food at the restaurant was good. We had a poor experience with one of the rooftop bartenders. He looked like he had been there a long time and really had no interest in answering questions or engaging with the town. His younger companion bartender was friendly and welcoming. Advice: In the evening, it cools down tremendously on the rooftop, so you will need blankets even though there are a couple of fireplaces for ambiance.

We arrived in our big shred truck and the first thing I was asked by the front desk lady was if I had just arrived in the big truck and it was not saying in the parking lot over night right?!! Uhh ya, usually when you drive a vehicle to a hotel you park it in the parking lot. I was then told that usually when people drive larger vehicles they notify them ahead of time and so on. So she goes and gets the manager that proceeds to tell me multiple time people always call ahead (ok no need to keep telling me something that SHOULD have been done a long time ago) how all the rooms and parking spaces are all taken for the night and on and on. My husband then comes around and says that he will move it no problem. She proceeds to talk over him and keeps saying the same thing. At this point I am ready to just go to a different hotel because of how extremely rude they are. Now I have no problem owning up to I should have called ahead however I don't drive an oversize vehicle for my every day car so I didn't realize or even think of this issue. It was a Thursday night in May!! I get if you are just concerned about having enough space for all your guests but there is a way to approach and talk to people. My everyday job is scheduling and sales so I talk to people non stop and being rude is NEVER a way to talk to someone! That being said we left at 6:15am on Friday morning and our truck was taking up 1 and a quarter of another parking spot and in their two small parking lots there was at least 7 or 8 empty spots available!!! The room was nice and clean and the young man that assisted my husband with parking was very nice however my experience with the rude front dest lady and EXTREMELY rude manager will not have me going back! I'll take my business elsewhere!

I booked a Deluxe King Fireplace Corner Unit at Anacortes Ship Harbor Inn on April 15, 2026 for the…read morenight of August 26, specifically because of its convenient location near the ferry terminal. My reservation, number 100480, was confirmed for two adults at $249 plus tax. The reservation confirmation specifically instructed guests arriving after 10:00 p.m. to call the inn on the day of arrival. I did exactly that while at SeaTac preparing to drive to Anacortes. At approximately 7:44 p.m., I was told that late arrival instructions would not be sent until 9:00 p.m. because the property was busy and full. I simply asked if the instructions could be provided earlier because I was already traveling toward the hotel and wanted to make sure I could access the room I had reserved more than four months earlier. Instead of providing the check in instructions, the situation escalated and the inn canceled my confirmed reservation at approximately 7:59 p.m. on the night of arrival. I received cancellation confirmation 136279 documenting the cancellation. That left my wife and me without our reserved lodging while already traveling. I had to scramble to find another hotel and ultimately booked the Fairfield by Marriott in Burlington for $217.70. The replacement hotel also put us approximately 35 minutes farther away from the Anacortes ferry terminal, creating an unnecessary inconvenience for our ferry travel the following morning. What makes this especially disappointing is that I did not miss a deadline, fail to appear, or ignore the hotel's instructions. I contacted the inn precisely because its own confirmation told late arriving guests to do so. A guest with a confirmed reservation should be able to ask how to access the property after hours without having the reservation canceled that evening. I have traveled extensively and understand that hotels occasionally encounter operational problems. What matters is how those problems are handled. Canceling a confirmed reservation on the night of arrival after the guest follows the property's own late arrival instructions is not an acceptable way to handle the situation. I would not recommend relying on a reservation here when ferry travel or other time sensitive plans depend on having your room available.

I would be terrified to cook something on the little stove they had in the suite , there was so much caked on black food ash - seems like it would be a fire hazard. Room also smelled like it was a chain smokers previous residence. We honestly dreaded sleeping there. We told the front desk and were offered a possible discount but at a later date- whatever that means? doesn't seem like follow through on that will happen. Would've been better customer service if offered on the spot. Sad cause this property has a lot of potential. Would suggest to management that they get better cleaning help.

My friends also had difficulty sleeping due to the bed quality and the cold from the thin walls as well. Room quality: I got upgraded from the Lighthouse room to the Oar House which had two beds to choose from. It also was missing the main blind facing the outdoor seating area. Even with the thermostat at 70, I found myself shivering in the middle of the night due to thin walls (I could hear the cars zoom by from the back of the house in the room and the windows were single paned). The bathroom wasn't connected to the room, rather it was across the hall that required stepping outside into the cold, though still under a roof. There are no channels to watch, only DVDs which I counted there were 36 to choose from. There was no VCR to use but a bunch of videos to choose from. WiFi is not accessible in the Oar House so I was told to go to the room where breakfast would be served to get any internet, which was across the backyard into the other side of the house. Food: it is all frozen food that you heat yourself. There were Schwann's omelets, pancakes, sausages, frozen Greek yogurt and eggo waffles. The cereals available were mini wheats, raisin bran, corn flakes and others. There is a keurig that only had coffee available. Overall the view is beautiful and the decor is very nautical and unique with pictures of Oggie during his fisherman days also it is 5 min driving to the ferry. But it isn't worth the $135 a night due to poor sleep quality from thin walls and frozen food. At $50 it is definitely worth it just for the view itself but the location isn't in walking distance of anything except for the ferry.

Rude and deceptive practices! BEWARE!!!…read more We made a reservation at Salish Inn on 5/25/26 @ 4:43 pm, for two consecutive nights 8/7/26 and 8/8/26. We called to confirm reservation on 6/30/26 at 9:18 am. We were told that we had no reservation. When we provided our confirmation number to the agent that received the call, Katie, the manager got on the line and denied it's existence and rudely hung up the phone. As a result of having been told that we did not have a reservation at Salish Inn, we made a reservation at another hotel for the same two nights of 8/7/26 and 8/8/26. We called Salish Inn 9 times from 7/31/26 to 8/5/26 to attempt to ensure that there was no reservation and that we would not be charged, but we had to leave voice mail messages that were never returned. We were charged $464.14 on 8/7/26. We visited Salish Inn and spoke with the receptionist Lily and explained the situation. She said she would have her manager, Samantha contact us during the following business week. While driving away, at 9:12 am, we were contacted by Katie, the person we had spoken with on 6/30/26, to say that we could stay that night. When we replied that we already had a room, she stated that she was going to charge us a cancellation fee in addition to the amount she had already charged us for 2 nights. A charge for $218.33 subsequently appeared on our charge card. Katie then cancelled our reservation for 3 rooms over the upcoming Labor Day weekend. When we asked if she was refunding any money she rudely hung up. We have disputed both charges of: 8/7/26 - Salish Inn charge - $464.14 8/8/26 - Salish Inn charge - $218.33

On other sites, it was much higher rated and so I booked through their website. I chose the Villa style room for 4 people. It was surprisingly spacious. It's a 1 bedroom condo with two queen beds and 2 pull out couches in the living room, a kitchen, and 1 bathroom. Ours was upstairs (quite a few stairs, not a couple of steps) so be careful about that if you've got people who can't handle too many stairs in your party. They definitely try to add in as many hotel amenities as possible. There were hotel lamps, desks, wooden hangers, suitcase riser, detachable shower liner, mini hairdryer, bathroom essentials, TV, instant coffee, and tea packets, as well as many other amenities not usually included in a common hotel room such as a fully stocked kitchen. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen because there is literally a full size stove, dishwasher, fridge, variety of kitchen cooking ware and bakeware, cups, bowls, plates etc. It was everything you could need for whipping up a nice meal. They also included a microwave, coffee machine, hot water kettle, ice bucket, full size dishwasher with dishwasher tablets, kitchen sponge, and paper towels! They also include continental breakfast with the room from 7:30am-9:30am, which is a nice feature. The continental breakfast is impressive and includes items like hard boiled eggs, milk, OJ, apple sauce, yogurt, bagels, toast, cereal, tea and coffee, as well as waffles! You make your own waffles using a station set up. The front desk was very friendly and helpful to us so I was surprised to read that other reviewers had a bad experience. As of April 2018, the front desk man was very friendly. I was concerned about the 10pm check in cut off and the front desk told me that they have a system in place to accommodate late check-ins and that it wouldn't be a problem for us. He was very friendly when I called and made me feel at ease about the possibility of us coming late. When we checked in, he gave us some helpful information about the surrounding area. I also noticed that the two different front desk men were friendly to the other guests as well. One major plus was the bathroom. We had one bathroom with a shower and two sinks. There was also a full size window in addition to a fan, so you could easily de-humidify the room after a hot shower. The water temperature was highly responsive and the water pressure was great. I was so happy to see NO mold on the shower curtain, nor anywhere else in the bathroom! The housekeeping service replaced our towels every night so we always had fresh towels. There was also plenty of counter space and two medicine cabinets in which you could spread out your toiletries. The living room had a nice big window with black out curtains, a TV, large cabinet, laptop desk, coffee table, gas heater, and 2 pull out bed couches. The gas heater was very nice for the chilly nights! It is controlled by a light switch ( turns on the gas heater) and a turning knob dimmer switch (turns on the fan portion). The bedroom had 2 queen beds with hotel style heavy comforters. The pillows were a little lumpy but they were fine. The mattresses were on the softer side. The bedroom also had its own thermostat and new double paned windows with black out curtains. CONS: Upon first entry into our suite, there was this odd odor. It didn't smell like mold but it wasn't a pleasant smell either. It was mainly in the stairwell but there was some odor in the living room as well. I alerted the front desk and they febreze'd it, so it wasn't as bad. Hopefully they fix this for future guests. The doors in suite also didn't close... almost none of them. The bedroom door wouldn't close, nor would the bathroom door. We alerted the front desk but during our stay, the issue was not fixed. The front door to the suite also didn't deadbolt, even though there was a deadbolt on the door. At least it closed I guess. The only doors that closed were the unimportant ones, like the closet and the pantry doors. Overall, our stay was very nice and I would recommend staying here if you want nice accommodations for multiple days in Anancortes. This was a much better value than regular hotels like Best Western and better than Airbnb's. This place was also only 15 mins away from the tulip fields and the second story suite I was in had a partial waterfront view :)

My first irk was that I got an email regarding their cancellation policy even though I just read the terms when booking the room. About two days before we were to arrive, I get a text message asking me to complete some pre-registration info. I click through and I got peeved! I was asked to supply info that I already provided when I booked the room - my contact info, full credit card info and then they wanted a picture of my drivers license. I called cuz I was steamed - I don't want to provide that info over some link that was texted to me. The lady I spoke with at Sunrise said it was part of her reservation system that she has no control over but I could skip it for now so I did. I am traveling for crying out loud - I can't can't tell her now what the make, model and license plate of the rental car I will be given in two days! We check in. Pretty uneventful. The room is blah. Not worth the price paid. It was a king size bed so one would assume two people may be staying there but only one side of the bed had an end table. I had to pull an ottoman over to use as an end table on my side of the bed. Gross. In the morning, we noticed the nasty stain that was on the underside of the comforter on the side of the bed my husband was on. Neither of us wears makeup so clearly housekeeping just flipped over that comforter when they noticed the stain. Consequently, we left no tip for housekeeping - screw it. We stayed in an overpriced room given that was not adequately furnished and inadequately cleaned. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is that the one man who checked us in gave us a great restaurant recommendation for dinner.
