Rude and deceptive practices! BEWARE!!! We made a reservation at Salish Inn on 5/25/26 @ 4:43 pm, for two consecutive nights 8/7/26 and 8/8/26. We called to confirm reservation on 6/30/26 at 9:18 am. We were told that we had no reservation. When we provided our confirmation number to the agent that received the call, Katie, the manager got on the line and denied it's existence and rudely hung up the phone. As a result of having been told that we did not have a reservation at Salish Inn, we made a reservation at another hotel for the same two nights of 8/7/26 and 8/8/26. We called Salish Inn 9 times from 7/31/26 to 8/5/26 to attempt to ensure that there was no reservation and that we would not be charged, but we had to leave voice mail messages that were never returned. We were charged $464.14 on 8/7/26. We visited Salish Inn and spoke with the receptionist Lily and explained the situation. She said she would have her manager, Samantha contact us during the following business week. While driving away, at 9:12 am, we were contacted by Katie, the person we had spoken with on 6/30/26, to say that we could stay that night. When we replied that we already had a room, she stated that she was going to charge us a cancellation fee in addition to the amount she had already charged us for 2 nights. A charge for $218.33 subsequently appeared on our charge card. Katie then cancelled our reservation for 3 rooms over the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Our Experience at this hotel was not what we expected. The staff were nice but there is no staff 24/7 . And we asked to please clean up our room on the second day, they said that because of the time that we left there may not be time to clean our room. We bumped into the maintenance lady she said to us that she will do our room after her break. And when we came back the room WAS NOT CLEAN we complained with the staff and she said to us I SAID THAT THERE WILL NOT BE ANY TIME TO CLEAN OUR ROOM. We understand that there are policies in Hotels. But Guest SHOULD BE INFORMED about the time they should leave the room specially if they will be spending in the hotel more than one night, so that there would not be any confusions. This hotel is very modern and clean and I'd happily stay here again, but it's a little different. This place is a strange vibe. They don't have a 24 hour desk, so you have to fill out a lot of paperwork before your stay so that in case you show up after hours, you'll know how to retrieve your keycard. That's okay, but what if you didn't open the email and make those arrangements? Our room as clean and had enough space, with a nice big window for natural light with a iew of the parking lot, which I appreciated so I could keep an eye on our car. We came mid-week so it wasn't busy. The only thing that drops this place a couple of stars is that they're stingey about the lobby coffee and the breakfast. I knew not to expect much for breakfast but seriously, don't have chafing trays if your offerings are either cold boiled eggs or madeleines. I lol'ed over that one, because they made it look like they offer eggs and has browns, only to be that. They also have yogurt cereal, toast, an apple, and coffee, but the milk for the cereal had gone bad. Yuck. We recently attended the Bier on the Pier festival in Anacortes and decided to make a getaway out of it, so we booked a night at the Salish Inn. I was pleasantly surprised by how new and clean this property was! Our corner room, on the 4th floor, was huge and sparkling. We even had a nice peek-a-boo view over the city and out to the bay. There was also a fully functioning kitchen, with dishes, pots, a full size fridge, and even a dishwasher. While we did not cook a meal here, it would have been easy to do so. I really loved the color scheme and ambiance of the hotel, and the fact that parking was free. We didn't partake of the continental breakfast, but were impressed that the front desk actually has beer on tap! And free coffee is available 24/7. This spot is pretty far from the most of Anacortes' restaurants and shops, and we ended up having to Uber from the beer festival (which isn't easy...I think there are only 2 Uber drivers in town). A suggestion would be to offer a free or on-call shuttle to downtown, especially when there are events in town. The service was very friendly, and I would happily stay here again. read more

Roche Harbor Resort recommended this hotel. Salish Inn told us we could come at 2:30 for early check-in (no cars in the parking lot) then told us no, come back at 4pm. There was no service staff at the hotel after we checked in until the next morning after 9.The TV did not work and the next morning when taking a shower the power went off, about 20 minutes later they finally got the power on again. The rooms were clean, however the lack of hospitality was terrible. read more

Not sure why there are so many negative comments. The staff was very friendly upon my arrival and greeted me to my room. It was short notice that the room was available and they were able to get it cleaned and let me come in early. The room itself had air conditioning on upon my arrival and was very clean! I can't think the Salish in enough for a great day and I'm sorry about the reviews from people who seem to ask for way too much out of a basic hotel stay - you guys are INCREDIBLE. read more

Stayed here and I thought it was excellent and very clean!! I've worked in hospitality for years and I'll tell you I'll be booking again here. I enjoyed the hot tub and the view of the marina from my king room. Microwave and fridge that has an actual freezer as well. Incase you buy a pint of Haagen dazs ice cream like I did. Easy short drive to viewpoint and food all around. I enjoyed shopping and watching the boats on a hike. Relaxing place to visit during off seasons. Staff was friendly and polite. read more

Visited this past weekend and while the hotel is nice and new, they are definitely missing a few marks. We were there for three nights and not once did anyone come in to clean our room. We weee gone for at least 10 hours everyday we were there. They never replaced our towels and upon arrival, we noticed a pretty foul sent in the room only to find that the garbage had not been taken out from the guest before... I noticed a few other things too which made me wonder how well our room was actually cleaned up before arrival. The stairs are closed and there is only one elevator in the building. The stairwell is full of items they have been storing clearly from building and renovating the hotel, this is a fire hazard no? The continental breakfast was just yogurt and bread. The rooms are nice and we had a great view, however, customer service and hospitality, lacked a lot. read more

This place is super cute and looks new. I choose it randomly off expedia. The person checking me in reported I paid too much and should have booked directly with the hotel (she upgraded me to a room with a water view), I thought the price was reasonable. There are 4 floors, some with views of the water, some appear to have balconies, plenty of parking out front, close to a few restaurants, there's a small gym and an outdoor covered hot tub (which was divine on a rainy/cold day). This is one of those places were reception is not available after 9 pm, I don't mind that in any way. My partner was slightly annoyed that he could not find someone every second he needed someone (like when we needed towels for the hot tub), but I think the sense of independence and privacy is very valuable. They also appear to have a few beer taps and wine available in the reception area which I may have tried had they not closed so early. My room had a mini fridge and microwave. I liked the choice of bathroom toiletries. The room was clean and spacious. It was easy to sleep here and the bed was comfortable, temperature and noise could be adjusted, the room could be kept dark. My only complaint, which the hotel can not really be blamed for (there are signs indicating smoking is not allowed), is that the fire alarm went off while I was sleeping and we had to wait in the parking lot while the fire department cleared the hotel. This appeared to be due to someone smoking marijuana indoors, but was highly annoying at a time I thought was 5 am (it was really closer to midnight). read more

Deceptive Advertising. We booked online through their website. We looked through all the room photos and decided on the San Juan Deluxe Suite. When we checked into our room, it was NOTHING like the photo! We went back to the front desk and explained that we wanted the room that was shown in the room slideshow. The front desk clerk said "oh, those photos are for all the rooms". I explained that they are not, and that different rooms show different photos. She said that if we wanted the room in the photo, it would cost a lot more. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that isn't possible. I asked for a refund and she said "sorry, we have a 72 hour cancellation policy so I can't give you your money back" Unfortunately, the front desk staff and the manager could care less that you are unhappy with their false advertising. There are many other lodging choices in Anacortes that would be happy to have you stay. Do not stay at this place that couldn't care less, once you've booked and paid. read more

The woman running the front desk is a condescending, rude and combative person. For medical reasons I needed an early check in and requested it when I set up the reservation which was granted. my wife booked a room with our 7 year old son, the room the gave her was next to the elevator that is in serious need of repair. It makes so much noise (squealing) that it will be impossible to sleep nor relax. the front desk refuses to move them even though there are plenty of available rooms. very unprofessional and disappointing. avoid at any cost. We are local and will make sure we spread the word. I booked a three day reservation with the fellow at the front desk. When I arrived to the inn, I asked if I could add a day to my stay. The inn was not busy. When I looked at my receipt, I noticed he had increased the price of my entire stay. He said the computer made the change and there was nothing he could do. That was the price. There was a domestic dispute in the room next door - body slammed against wall, man screaming "you F B" at the top of his lungs, banging doors as people ran down the hall. No manager at the front desk after 9pm. Called emergency line, no answer. Left message asking a for call beck, never got one. Felt unsafe, called 911. Police report said that drunken couple were picked up after one passed out on Commercial Ave and were brought back to hotel. Then they fought. Police found baby bottle but no baby when they arrived. Drunken mother was screaming on the phone and the police could hear her through the closed door. Found out that same drunken, fighting couple was staying for another nite so checked out one night early. Front desk said I would get a refund. Owner refused to answer any contact from Expedia. I spent $12 on Expedia Hotel Reservation Protection. Not honored. No refund, just lies in response to my bbb complaint. Don't stay here, doesn't feel safe for families, single women and kids. Meh accommodations anyway. Don't bother with Expedia Hotel Reservation Protection - Doesn't work. I had to pay for both evenings of this nightmare. read more

O stars if I could I'm a boilermaker and if you are in the trade you will know that it's unpredictable, I bought 2 weeks ahead and the job got moved a week I found this out the day before, I called and they couldn't do anything about it couldn't move it, couldn't return my money, couldn't even give me part of it back or a discount on a future stay so I was out 554$ for the 4 nights I would of been there so thanks for the great customer service Salish inn I'll spread the word to all the trades to help prevent them from staying at your hotel and getting robbed blind, mined you I work jobs in Anacortes with 400+ people many times through out the year I hope bankruptcy is in your future. read more

Loved it! Totally love the concept of this place. Also, it is extremely clean, modern and sleek, not fru-fru with dingy old carpet. All the design has obviously been thought through and it shows. We had a studio suite. The little kitchenette was a welcome surprise! Having the outdoor hot tub was great as well! Well-appointed, low key, very comfortable beds, just the right amenities and well-designed. Only thing that could use a bit of improvement was the "continental breakfast"...it was okay. This is the place to stay in the area. We have stayed twice and had a great experience both times. The hotel is very clean, updated and well appointed. The rooms are small but the space is used intelligently. The bathroom has very nice lighting, not harsh/overly bright. The towels are okay and typically of hotels the water pressure could be better but it's not the worst I've experienced. The front desk has a nice selection of snacks and beverages available including beer and wine. However the pillows are terrible and you should bring your own if possible. All in all a very good value. read more

I was happy to stay here initially because it is relatively new. The rooms looked nice and it offered a free continental breakfast. We paid a little more than at other places due to these facts. Parking is tight especially for larger vehicles, very few spaces and so small. The rooms were comfortable and ours was clean with a nice fridge and microwave if needed, though we did not use. Bed was comfy. Kleenex not stocked in the room, there was one tissue in the box. Had USB ports in night stand which was helpful. The breakfast was just okay, had the standard fare of dry cereal, bagels and hard boiled eggs. The coffee was terrible. Tasted like hot water. Went to the local coffee shop to get real coffee. Breakfast starts at 7 am but employee was impossible to find when the butter pats ran out. The second morning, Sunday, there was no breakfast. No employees anywhere. No one at the front desk. Another guest told us that apparently the breakfast staff did not show up for work so we are out of luck for breakfast. Real bummer as we paid extra so we would not have to leave for breakfast. Very disappointing. While I would like to stay at this place again it is very disconcerting that there is no staff onsite after 9 pm. Trying to call the front desk was impossible. No one there to answer. As other reviewers have stated if there is a problem there is no staff to help you. We checked out, well, tried to check out at 9:15 on Sunday morning and no staff to get us our bill. We just left. I think I will try elsewhere next time and hope they get their act together. read more

An okay place to stay but way overpriced for what you get. The Salish Inn is not at all close to town (about a 30 min walk to downtown). Our room was fine and was clean but there were dirty dishes left in the small dishwasher in the kitchenette. After our first night, we left the hotel in the AM and put the "Service Please" hanger on the door. When we came back that evening our room had not been serviced. We called the front desk and they offered to bring us towels but would not clean the room. Very frustrating after paying so much to stay here. Probably better than a lot of other options in town but I would not stay here again. read more

Rooms were available but they said I would have to have the third party call them. Back and forth we went a number of times. Stayed at Salish Inn was booked for 4 nights, first night so much much noise awake at 1:15, 3:15 and 6:15. No staff on site. Called owner requested a new room for the remaining three nights. Owner was so unpleasant and told me to just find another hotel, she stated that she didn't like my attitude what has happened to good customer service. I went to check out and requested a refund for the other three nights and was told that since I booked with Hotels.com I had to contact them. I checked out and called Hotels.com, they called the hotel and owner refused to refund. Finally Hotels.com refunded my three additional prepaid days even if the owner refused. Worse than this though, attempts to call the night staff from the room failed because they wouldn't pick up the phone. This place has potential because it's on the newer side and some rooms have lovely views of the bay. I'm giving it a poor review because our room was DIRTY! It wasn't until the next morning did I discover the bed linens had not been changed from the previous guest because I found a used tissue under my pillow when I sat up in bed. There was a box of frozen chocolate ice cream treats left in the room freezer and I figured out that it was chocolate that made a spot on the duvet cover, (initially it looked like a cigarette burn). Also there was only one hand towel rolled up in the basket in the bathroom and I pulled it out, hung it up and saw the previous guest had wiped chocolate on that! The Salish Inn, (owned by Ek Tera Asara, LLC.), refuses to honor the current rate for the May 24, 2022 night of our stay. Instead they practiced predatory pricing billing me at an inflated rate. They charged me $269.10 for a room that was priced on their website for May 24 at $143.10 before taxes. The young man at the front desk (Marcos) was powerless. When we left in the morning there was no one at the front desk to fix my bill. My emails to the owner showing the screenshot of the May 24 rate for my booked room resulted in no response with the exception of resending me the reservation at the "then" March 2022 pricing. As a seasoned traveler, I have never experienced a hotel with such unethical business practices to not honor the current rate for the given night's stay. I have begun a credit card dispute and will also go to small claims court because this behavior is so despicable. read more

this was by far the worst experience in ever had in a hotel. Staff was mediocre at best, language barrier was a problem, rooms were poorly lit to hide the filth of a room. I asked for the room to be recleaned before I returned. Carpet was stained and sticky, bed linens were stained, and bathroom fan was non functional. On my return, nothing had been done, asked twice more for cleaning and was met with, "if you dont like it you can leave" from the hotel manager. A new hotel that is SO great. Clean, comfortable and modern. Comfy bed with super soft linens. Spacious bathroom. A mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. We literally booked this hotel 20 mins before we arrived - as we were pulling into Anacortes on the ferry. Be sure to call if you're going to arrive after 9pm so they can leave a key for you. SUPER sweet family that runs it. I'm glad our plans changed so we had the chance to stay here. Felt safe walking out after dark. There is a decent size park up the street if you have a dog (Storvik Park). We will definitely be back if travels take us to the area read more

We originally checked into Anacortes Inn across the street. It was so bad that we immediately checked out and came here. The owners were extremely kind and got us a room in the middle of the night when everything was closed. Unlike Anacortes Inn, Salish was clean, modern, and even had a jacuzzi. Don't waste your time in the cheap motels here, we'll definitely be coming back and staying here everytime. read more

I booked two nights on-line and they told me I had two reservations, one for two nights and one for one night -- which I did not. I had one reservation for two nights. Horrible, dingy, dirty hotel with an owner who hates her guests. We stayed two nights of a week that we needed a room, and it was so bad that we had to check out. We arrived back at the hotel and told the owner it was two small of a room (postage stamp and had to turn sideways to get into bed), dirty room ( I cleaned the bathroom floor with my washcloth and it was black). she made us pay for an additional night and told us we had to be out within 30 minutes despite the fact that she made us pay for the room for that night. Horrible experience. we went to the Majestic and it was delightful and clean and smells nice. Everything at Salish Inn is cut-rate- the breakfast was a yogurt, stale bagel or a piece of bread- why bother? The owner was incredibly rude and hated my service dog and violated ADA when questioning me- I have a prescription for my dog that I showed her and they took a copy of it- she threw some sign at me that I did not read. I have major disabilities and illnesses. My dog is 5 lbs. and is a trained service dog. No consideration from the owner, when we told her we were late for the funeral home for my Mom- she just wanted to harass me about my service dog. I told her we had to go. We finished the funeral planning and came back to the hotel and checked out. We could not bare another night of this dingy, filthy, uninviting place. Hopefully it sells to someone who likes guests. To top it off, they have a plastic wrap on the bed that causes the bottom sheet to pop off all night. We used our own bedding, as we were scared of theirs. read more
