This review deserves 10 stars and that is NOT an exaggeration. We stumbled on Billy's on our road trip up to Mt Baker. It has changed our lives haha. My wife and I can't stop thinking about the blueberry pancakes. They are big but not super thick. It was our first time at Billy's so we ordered one pancake to try as a side to our meals. I was eyeing the breakfast challenge but after being stuffed half way though my corned beef skillet, I know I would have never finished the challenge. My friends took me here as we were heading to Lake Wenatchee for some camping and needed some breakfast as it is a long drive from Vancouver. The place was packed when we arrived so had a little wait. The food was good. I had ordered "The Billy's". It had 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 1 sausage link, hashbrown and homemade biscuit with gravy. I finished it all, which wasn't too hard. My friends nudged me to try for the 'Billy's Challenge' which was a lot more food than that. The Billy's Bomb Challenge has "2 lbs of potatoes with peppers and onions, 3 homemade biscuits covered with gravy. Topped with 5 eggs with cheese and 2 strips of bacon." You need to finish this within 30 minutes for it to be free. If you finish, you go on the Wall of Fame, if you can't finish, then you're on the Wall of Shame. You get a T-shirt The service was good, but being that it was super busy, it took a while to get our food, get refill of coffee and waters. read more

The hostess was super nice and apologetic for us having to wait long for a table though. We ended up sitting outside (can get kind of loud with the trains nearby, and alot of honking). But the wait was WELL worth it. Our waiter was so nice, and he kept asking if we were good and if we needed anything; as well as the hostess. I didn't get a picture of everyone's food, but all around my group of friends LOVED our picks. The food was super delicious. I got the Steak Skillet: a 7oz steak, potatoes, green peppers, onions, melted pepper Jack cheese and 2 eggs (any style), and a side of white toast. Steak was flavorful. Potatoes were made to perfection. Peppers, onions and cheese made it extra yummy.. and the eggs were so soft. Truly a great breakfast spot. It was our first time in Burlington, and hopefully won't be the last! I had the farmer's scramble and my wife had an omelette. Our little one bad biscuits and gravy. Everything was fresh and tasty. The scramble was loaded with meat and the eggs were made to order. The omelette was large and the biscuit and gravy was a hit as well. Our food came out relatively quick after ordering. Service was solid on both visits. They have a challenge that's $40 which includes two pounds of potatoes loaded with biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon. It looked tempting but I definitely would not have finished it. Failed and successful challengers alike receive a photo on the wall of fame or shame and a tshirt. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. read more

Six of the ladies in my family and I stopped here on our way to our ladies trip. It was such a great choice the food was very good, that we stopped back on our way back home. The story of how this business came about is cute. Husbands dream, but the husband, wife and their son run the business. The hospitality of them was amazing. The owner of the business seen that an elderly woman was having a hard time walking so he walked her arm in arm out to her car to make sure she arrived safely. Stopped here for lunch after visiting Tulip Town. We were excited to give it a try as we saw it was commonly reviewed on Yelp, however our experience was less than ideal. We ordered two Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and a burger and we waited nearly an hour for the food to come to our table. The quality of the food was also underwhelming- especially the philly sandwiches (pictured) which the menu described as "authentic". The sandwiches lacked substance with very little meat and the cheese sauce was just nacho cheese on a barely toasted french roll. The fries were cold, although they were crispy and had good flavor. Disappointed overall, but hope to have a different experience if we come back in the future, maybe for breakfast instead. read more

Came here to the their cinnamon roll pancakes...two large pancakes studded with gooey cinnamon sugar spots and topped with cream cheese frosting swirl, served with syrup. My friend likes these pancakes on their own but I poured the syrup on. DELICIOUS. I never wanted the pancakes to end!! Better yet, you gown upgrade your plate to add bacon and eggs for just a few bucks. My other friend got a breakfast sandwich served with hashbrowns. The sandwich was huge and golden perfection. A few coffee pointers- they do not have dairy milk substitutes for their espresso drinks and for their drip coffee, they only serve dairy half and half. Kind of a bummer!! With a 4.5 star rating, I knew I was in for a treat, however even the best have off days! We arrived just before 1:00PM on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted to temporary signs on the door stating cash only. The place was hopping with every table full. We were told 10-15 minutes and rather than a 3 top sitting at the counter opted to wait for a table. We were seated in the specified time and placed a drink order. I ordered my standard breakfast of bacon & eggs over medium, hash browns and no toast. The eggs and thick sliced bacon were tasty however the hashbrowns were completely crispy and on the the overdone side. Daughter order a humongous chicken fried steak and mountain called a biscuit and wife had a gooey patty melt and fries, Both were completely satisfied with their meals and considering that Billy's was slammed service was still ok. Had to request soft drink refills and the check 90 minutes after arriving. Overall was satisfied with Billy's except, with tip and tax the meal was almost $70! What an excellent little gem in Fairhaven!!! We have lived here for 3 years and have kept saying we wanted to try this spot for breakfast. Breakfast has always been one of those meals for me that I feel I can cook better at home, but still go out because I'm too lazy to. ESPECIALLY BISCUITS AND GRAVY. Every single time I try biscuits and gravy from a restaurant, it's that flour-y white salt sauce that lacks any body or sustenance...even if it's coming from the place with the behemoth biscuits and pancakes. But Billy's has got their recipe down, and I felt a little worried that I may have competition to my granny's recipe. I got the Billy Platter, which came with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage AND a biscuit with gravy. I was able to sample almost everything I wanted on the menu, and I loved that option. My hubby got the cor ed beef hash skillet, with sourdough toast. Their toast and homemade strawberry jelly alone will have me coming back! His hash was great, and had wonderful flavor. The place is a cute little shop. Little cute items on the wall they pick up from all over, to make themselves unique. The server, Rachel was stretched a bit thin, the other server must have gone to break during the rush. She greeted me with a smile and told me about the specials. it seemed really good sounding. I had my heart set on the corned beef hash! They got the hash to me in about 10 minutes. The corned beef was deli sliced style. Not from a roast, you would get when making it from scratch. It did taste good with the country gravy and egg. Overall it was made well and had a good flavor to it. The server was very busy and pleasing to have. Do not eat here unless you want our town to end up like Seattle. This business openly encourages the homeless to camp out in front and allows them to harass customers. It is a cash only business, so they know you have cash and corner you near the door with the pretense of opening it. As a woman, I felt unsafe even walking in. I had to park down the street since I was nervous to leave my car unattended. Good thing too, since I witnessed him follow several people out to their cars. Made for a very uncomfortable experience.
