We got into Coupeville last night and were starving. A quick search on yelp suggested Osprey for relatively quick and good eats. We were able to order at the counter and grab a table right away! The atmosphere was very unique - IMO kind of 50's diner meets Beachfront restaurant, very fun! The staff was super nice too. It picked up as we were finishing our meals, around 630-7pm or so. My only qualm, and thus the 4 stars, was that the portion size was a little small for what you pay. Maybe I just ordered the "wrong" thing (Oyster Po-Boy), but it tasted great! All in all, though, absolutely no regrets. Plus, the menu has something for everyone (a lot of Gluten Free options too)!

One of the best Fish & Chips, the batter was light and crispy. The mussels dish was simply delicious. Definitely be back!

What a cute place! Walk in, order st counter, take a number, find a table. Very hard upselling at the register, that could calm down a touch. Beer, wine, cocktails available. We didn't have any but the offerings were plentiful! Fish battered excellently, fries shoestring variety. Mussels classically flavored and well done. You're on Penn Cove - gotta get them! 8/10 will return

This is a fantastic gluten free option! Really enjoyed our fish and chips and the service is good. I need to come back and try more of the menu but it was a hit.

If you come to whidbey island you got to come here. This was definitely our favorite eat on the island. It is a little pricey but I think well worth it. We got the fish and chips and cioppino. Fish and chips ($20) flaky and crispy. It was fried perfectly. It comes with a large basket of shoestring fries that were perfectly crispy. So good. Cioppino ($28) my husband and I have never had this dish before but it was so good! They do not skimp on the seafood and you could tell that the quality was so fresh. The soup was well flavored I dipped my fries in it when the bread ran out.

    French 45 - must drink!!

French 45 + Mussels + Oysters = Heaven! I flew up from LA to visit my friend and she took me to her beloved mussel place and it did not disappoint! It is definitely a casual place, but a great place to enjoy the freshest oysters, savory mussels (that broth!) and the most refreshing French 45 cocktail to wash it all down. You order at the counter and take a seat either inside or outside. We opted to stay inside since it was getting a little chilly outside. Only bummer about being inside was that there were some flies that were circulating, but it didn't hinder our experience. We had such a great time that we somehow downed 3 French 45s each, had our own bowls of mussels and shared 24 oysters. We were having the time of our lives!! The staff there was also super accommodating and had a great vibe! Such a cool spot! Wish they had this back home because I would be here all the time.

OH MY GOD. this place. THIS PLACE!!! ok cannot overstate how incredible osprey fish is. we stumbled in as we landed for the weekend in coupeville and it honestly might be one of the best meals i've had all year. the food was absolutely outstanding: fresh, perfectly executed. the drink options were fantastic. even the MERCH was adorable, which like, that's the attention to detail that gets me. is it a little pricey? yes. is it worth every single cent? absolutely yes. zero hesitation. the woman working when we visited was SO lovely: a breath of fresh air, warm and attentive and just made the whole experience feel special. and ok i need to dedicate a full paragraph to the GLUTEN FREE FISH AND CHIPS because i am still thinking about them. as someone who can't do gluten, finding a GF version that actually SLAPS is rare and precious and osprey delivered in the most incredible way. best gluten free fish and chips i have ever had in my life, full stop. my partner had the regular version plus oysters and we both had to physically restrain ourselves from spending every meal of our trip here. if you're on whidbey island this is a MUST. non-negotiable. go immediately.

Went here on a lazy Friday and was not disappointed at all! Has a cute interior with lots of seating as well as an outdoor patio. Perfect for a spot to eat on a Whidbey Island day trip! We got the ceviche, fish and chips, and dungeness crab mac. The ceviche was refreshing and flavorful; I usually prefer my ceviche a tad more acidic, but it was still yummy! The tortilla chips were also delicious. Fish and chips were standard and perfectly cooked. Lastly the crab mac and cheese was AMAZING! Creamy, al dente, absolutely would order again. Highly recommend this spot! :)

AMAZEBALLS as usual. Came out on a Sunday, pretty crowded but worth the wait in line. Service is always excellent, the staff is super friendly. The restaurant is always very clean and fun....a bit loud sometimes. I can't overstate how good the food is. If you are in the area please stop in for a bite!

I was in Coupeville for the annual "Greening of Coupeville Parade" and stopped in at the Osprey Fish Co. for a bite to eat. I decided on the Fried Chicken Sando and asked for it to go. I was told that today was my lucky day because that was their last order of the fried chicken! When I got it and opened the to go box I noticed that one half of the sandwich had fallen apart. I discovered that was because there was a very generous amount of sliced up fried chicken When I bit in to it the bun was nice and fresh, the chicken was crisp on the outside and juicy inside. I was also pleased with whatever the sauce was. Very tasty! The two halves were lying on top of a bed of shoestring fries. I ate a few of them just to taste and they were still warm and crispy. Overall a very nice bite!

Osprey turned out to be a lucky detour on the way home. I've never had fish and chips before, and I was impressed by their tempura battered cod. The batter was perfectly crispy and airy, and the fish was cooked well. You could tell it was fresh. I took my meal to go. It came with a generous portion of shoestring fries. I can't wait to visit again.

A kind of ceviche cold marinated salad with tomatoes and fried chips

Veer away from the narrow, single-lane, waterfront strip of Coupeville both dangerous to navigate and oversubscribed by patrons, and walk two blocks to this outstanding seafood establishment. It offers a more spacious, relaxed ambience with ample indoor and outdoor patio seating for al fresco dining. More importantly, an ecclectic and superb menu that features quality seafood will please you. Equally well-curated drinks both alcoholic and non-, allow you to savor a lovely sit-down meal. Best part is that you are not relying on waiters and it is not formal. You choose from a not-extensive, but banging, menu of options and order at the counter, get a buzzer and then find a seat. As a solo diner I found the experience absolutely wonderful - because all the downtown waterfront places were stressfully full to the brim on a recent warm September weekend. Here I got a lip smacking ceviche, artfully presented with freshly fried tortilla chips. The sourness of the tomato and the warmth of the chips together were delicious. I supplemented with a single batter-fried piece of cod that was superlative in the quality of the melt-in-your-mouth interior and the crispy exterior. Would go back here any time I am in Coupeville again.

Fortunately I enjoy very potent horseradish and happily ate it with my steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and was juicy and tasty. I was not disappointed in any way with my meal. I did regret not ordering a red wine though. If I had it to do over I would have indulged.
