    Olive the Labradoodle

Paws For Beer is an amazing concept. I recently relocated to Bellingham from California with my 10 month old labradoodle puppy who was in need of socialization. She immediately took to the place and in no time, she was running around and playing with the other dogs while I enjoyed a great beer. For me, it was an opportunity to socialize with other humans. Everyone was so pleasant. It was a great experience . The owner and the other people who work there are such a pleasure.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! This is by far our dog's absolute favorite place. Its like the doggie version of Cheers, it doesnt take long before the super friendly staff know your dog by name. The staff are all fantastic. Its a great place to enjoy a beer or even coconut water and lets your dog socialize. The also do lots of fun events throughout the year that are so much fun like doggie Halloween Party, Ugly Christmas Sweaters, live music, and adoption days!

Great place for the dogs and people. Grab a drink and let the dogs release their energy. Super chill place

This was my first visit here. Tonight is Trivia Night and it is hilarious. We are not participating as we are supremely ignorant of the DC Marvel idiosyncrasies. Sage against the Machine has fantastic food. We had the 'Not'chos' burger bowl. You can bring your dog, or not. ( we don't have one) It is a fun place good beer and drinks and food.

We stopped off for a beer when visiting fairhaven from out of town. We don't have a dog but they allow unaccompanied humans to hang out too. The staff was friendly, I like their selection of beers. They have a few draft and a ton of canned options. The place was very spacious and has lots of enrichment toys for dogs to play. Owners were good about picking up after their dogs right away. I'd go back again when in the area.

Dear San Diego Business Entrepreneurs, take a gander at this concept! How charming! How relaxing! How far far away up in Bellingham... whomp whomp. Do us dog lovers a solid and open a puppy beer garden round here, would ya? I'd do it myself, but you know, I'm on that #fivestarcareer grind. As mentioned above, beer + dogs + garden/park atmosphere is a win. You enter (pup or not, all are welcome) grab a can of whatever from the extensive collection of options and wonder out to the grounds where you'll find a mish mash of seatting options. Furry friends roam about freely playing fetch and catching up on the fire hydrant gossip. Dog parents drink and admire eachother' s four legged offspring. It's delightfully casual. The footprint of the grounds is significant too, it takes up a whole corner of a block. (Important to note because it's size is what makes it, I think) The boo and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary with a little tour de Fairhaven and happened upon this spot. No animal accompanied us, but we were greeted by many a wagging tail regardless. I snagged a delicious watermelon cider and we hung out for a half hour laughing at the antics around us. Loved it, would go often if I lived back in the 'ham again and as a former townie I love seeing this type of place thrive. Is it well groomed or manicured? No, not at all, but it's a solid win regardless.

I've been going here for a couple months with our puppy Remi and it's our new favorite place! The staff is great and our pup has so much fun. It's so funny just now watching dogs be silly with each other and I love how you can drink during it. Trivia on Mondays is always fun. I'm excited the weather is getting nicer so we can go more often! Highly recommend if you are a dog person.

Stopped in for a beer as unaccompanied humans. We were traveling and sans puppers so we needed to get our fix. Such a fun spot!

Doggie heaven! Have a dog and want a dog park feel with a beer? Love dogs but don't have the ability to own one? Wherever you are in your life, this is THE place for all dog (and beer/cider) lovers. Think they'll have a limited drink selection? Think again. There were tonnnnsss of options. Beers, ciders, even multiple gluten free beers! I was able to try a few different options all the while meeting new dog friends. What better way to spend a day? Honestly, I hope this is what Valhalla is like!

Open concept and nice wood floors.

SUCH a cool idea! SUCH a neatl place! A really great addition to B'ham. Grats to Rylan Schoen for moving on the idea and grats for all the Kickstarter contributors who helped bring Paws For A Beer to Fairhaven. A swell place to have an adult beverage and play with your dog and let your dog play with other dogs. It's a total WIN-WIN. Membership: ONE DOG $5/day or $20/month or $100/year. TWO DOGS $8/day or $30/month or $165/year. Just recently opened, I'm sure Paws For A Beer will grow and develop over time and I anticipate a full house in Spring and Summer. I like the rules regarding vaccinations and such and the two dog per person maximum. I like the propane fireplace outside. I like the large dog area and provided toys. See you there!

(October 2021) We came up to visit some friends in Bellingham, they recommended this place and it did not disappoint. There's a large fenced area outside where the dogs can run freely, but there was also plenty of seating for you to enjoy a drink while your doggo plays. Would definitely come back again!

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess at a table in DT Fairhaven, and our server was the bartender. After being seated, we waited a long time without anyone taking our order. We eventually asked if we had a server and were told it was him, with no apology or explanation. We ordered drinks and food, but after more than 40 minutes, we noticed two tables seated after us had already been served, finished eating, and were leaving. At that point, we asked for the check and said we would not be staying. About 15 minutes later, the server returned with our food instead of the check. We declined the meal and sent it back. He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it. The service, however, was well below expectations given the restaurant's reputation. This was lunch on July 15, 2026. We may try The Black Cat again in the future, hoping this was just an off day.

The patio can get a bit chilly, but it's worth it for the view, and they do have heaters available. I started with a salad, followed by the Keenan's burger with a garbanzo bean patty, and the soup du jour. All three were delicious. The complimentary bread served with garlic herb spread was a wonderful start--aromatic and very satisfying. The salad had a great balance of fresh vegetables and toppings. On a cold day, the soup was especially comforting. The burger itself was well prepared and flavorful. The staff was polite and attentive, though they seemed a bit overwhelmed due to a large party seated next to us. Another nice perk: there's a boardwalk and beach right next door, making it a great place for a stroll before or after your meal.

I ordered the halloumi pasta and the vegan chocolate mousse. The pasta dough itself tasted super fresh, but the sauce was a little dry and the flavor was just okay. The mousse was extremely chalky and borderline inedible. I would recommend Keenan's for a drink on the pier but skip the food.

They have a nice selection of taps (including more than just beer), some vintage video games, and offer live music regularly. On our most recent visit, we found one of our fave local musicians, Michael Dayvid, playing and managed to snag a cozy seat in the front row. We sipped our pints (I got an amber, Dude got an IPA) and enjoyed the show - right after a rousing game of Pac Man, of course. This is large space, so there's seating in the back if you don't want to be front row for the music. The service is friendly, too. Parking can be a little challenging, as it's only street parking, but it's not too bad. In a town that has a lot of breweries, but could use a few more cozy taphouses, Corner Taphouse fills a niche (especially in the Fairhaven area). I hope they continue to thrive!

Each used n/a spirits (n/a mezcal in the latter) and a symphony of sophisticated ingredients, which wish I tell you what. Each had a speared dried citrus slice and a luscious ginger bite (or something!) a top. The first had included honey, but it wasn't sweet--just complexified with a little snap to it that the honey smoothed; the second was a little sweeter in tone, including a bit of huckleberry along with the mezcal. (Connor might recall them by my play name for them. Inspired by a book in my hand on collecting meteorites, I nicknamed the first the "Extraterrestrial Visitor" and the second the "Heavenly Visitor.") They were so delicious I suggested he put them on the menu. If he does or doesn't, no matter. Just ask him if he has time to get creative for you. He'll ask you flavor tone preferences, or you can just go for whatever he wants to make, like I did. Again, he is excellent. I enjoyed my lovely drinks with a Caesar salad (another OMG!) which included crispy bacon bits and loads of tiny shreds of a delicious white cheese along with a creamy dressing. It was scrumptious as was the very lovely charcuterie plate. Pistachios, green apple slices, fat outstanding Castelvetrano olives (caution: with pits), a luscious pepper jelly that went beautifully dipped into with their choice of excellent crackers, delicately flavored salami and a prosciutto so elegantly-flavored it could make you weep.
