I really enjoyed my visit here. You definitely don't have to have a dog with you to come in. There's a pretty large selection of beers, ciders, snacks, and dog items available. There are several seating options available inside and outside of the bar. A fenced in area offers various toys to entertain you four legged friend. I did not have a canine companion, but enjoyed the company of others that were present. A few sweet dogs came to play with me. The dogs enjoyed themselves and so did I. Very cool place. read more

I have never in my life written a yelp review, however I feel as though this needs sharing. We have been going to paws for a beer for the last year and a half and it is our favorite place ever! The owner is so friendly and welcoming and one of the employees who has worked there forever is our absolute favorite! I wish I new her name but she has two dogs of her own that are so friendly with all the other dogs and absolute sweethearts. The place is the best dog friendly bar that I have ever been to. Even though we recently moved to Seattle, we continue to come back here once a week because we love it so much. However, a newer employee has recently started working there and we have had nothing but negative experiences with him. He was long hair that he wears a headband in and is one of the most unpleasant people I have met there. His dog immediately growled and got snippy with our dog, as well as many other dogs over the course of us being there. On top of that, while deciding what kind of beer to get (and standing very far away from him) I pulled my mask down slightly to wipe my nose because it was running from allergies and he immediately yelled at me as I was doing this and told me to keep my mask on. I explained that I was only wiping my nose and would put it right back on and he continued to say rude things to me. I was standing well over 6 feet away from him and around no other people as I did this. Last, this man stood outside the building on the curb and vaped while a customer waited at the bar for help. Again, this is our absolute place to go with our pup and the staff has been nothing but amazing in the past. The owner and one of his longest employees are the nicest people I have ever met. This one man is just so mean and ruins the experience. Again, the business itself is the most amazing local owned business in Bellingham. I have a photo of the employee vaping and ignoring customers but it will not upload. read more

Stopped in this awesome joint on a whim, despite the fact I do not own a dog. Best decision ever. You have beer and can pet dogs AT THE SAME TIME. Plus the bar top is beautiful and the staff is friendly and kind (even when I talked nonstop for twenty minutes) and did I mention you can pet the dogs? There's an outside play yard and an inside living-room-type area and you can bring outside food! If you're taking your pooch, please make sure you check their Facebook page or their website for requirements, as they do have to be up to date on shots. read more

Guy was super rude about my dog not being neutered. Perfectly trained, very young dog, says the rules are posted but it's no where to be found. Service here sucks as far as I know read more

Checked this place out about a week ago with my boyfriend and pup (Australian shepherd mix) and thought it was super cool! Our dog is very shy and often feels overwhelmed at fenced-in dog parks but this spot was large enough that she could meet some other friends without feeling scared. There's lots of toys and activities to keep all dogs happy! The man working (I believe he was the owner) was very friendly and helpful. There is a membership fee but it's only $5 for a day pass and I believe $8 for a full membership. Great selection of beer and amazing outdoor area, didn't feel worried about covid at all here. Love that I can hang out and get a drink with a bunch of adorable doggies :) read more

Coolest place ever! It is a freaking off leash dog park that serves alcohol! Do I even need to say more? I will say more though......prices are great, location is easy to get to, parking lot is small or not even really a thing, play area is spacious and cool, booze is good! They also have bubly and other drinks that are non alcoholic. Go! Take your dog and enjoy! We even brought our lunch with us and just bought drinks from the bar. read more

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! What an amazing concept! You can enjoy a beer or glass of wine while letting your dogs run around in the dog run outside or hanging inside the bar. We probably take our dogs 2 times a week. It's nice to be in a social setting with your dogs. The owners are a very nice couple with a dog named Crosby. There is a small membership for dogs but not humans. The membership is by day, month or yearly and per dog. The first day we got there we signed up for the monthly membership and it's been well worth it. read more

What a great place to bring your dog! First time bringing my pup today, received a warm welcome from a sociable, professional, customer service oriented staff member. Facilities are clean, no odd smells. Lots of toys, tables, etc. for dogs to interact and play. I wasn't worried about stepping on dog poop; I could concentrate on my drink and make sure my dog behaved herself. Other owners were friendly and dogs fairly well behaved. I really look forward to purchasing a membership in the near future! read more

This was probably the 4th best experience of my life. Who doesn't 1) love dogs and 2) love to get drunk because you know alcohol enhances all dog petting interactions. I am shocked their aren't more places like this around. It was too much fun and therapeutic, I can not elaborate that enough. I was told that a couple times out of the month they hold dog adoptions there. Like shut up!! That's so freaking cute. Great selection of beer and wine. My low calorie ass got a White Claw-Ruby Grapefruit, but it was the dogs that made my experience past spiritual. Please, please use this genius idea and turn it into a franchise. You'd make MILLIONS. Staff was awesome, dogs were awesome, selection of Booz was awesome. Worth the four and a half hour drive. read more

First I want to say that I LOVE this idea. We took a drive to get out of the house and came upon this outdoor beer garden dog park. I was really excited to stop and get our littles out. This is the first place we had decided to go to since the statewide stay at home order...months ago. So, I do want to say again, this place is great. The only negative was that when we first walked in, greeter was super friendly and singed us in. The only thing I didn't like is that I was "strongly encouraged" to let my dogs immediately off leash. I have 2 small chiweenie dogs, one with 3 legs and is automatically seen as the weak link when dogs pack. I saw a very large dog when we first walked in that was acting very aggressive. I kept my dogs with me until I got a feel for the group. Sure enough, within 5 minutes the aggressive dog went after another smaller dog. Just a dog scuffle of dominance, but still. It should not have been allowed and the dog was allowed to stay. It was disappointing to say the least. I hope they create a small dog area so the people with the larger dogs don't dominate the business. I would have stayed longer and spent more money, but there was no way I was going to let my small shy dogs down with a larger aggressive dog allowed to stay. :( read more

We were just in town for a short while. While on a stroll through Bellingham we encountered this unique place. Even if you don't have a dog, as long as you enjoy their company this is a marvelous place to hangout! All the dogs are always excited to be there. It's such a happy atmosphere! There is a wide assortment of drinks to choose from. My friend had a beer and, since I was driving, I found a unique nonalcoholic drink. We had been away from home for more than three weeks and were missing our cats. Here is a place to get some unconditional love away from home! The restrooms were hilariously and appropriately themed! read more

Best place to take your dog and have a beer. Friendly staff and owner. Large selection of canned beers and ciders.

Great beer selection of beers with many local beers. Prices were about $6 a beer. The dogs roaming around were fantastic and the vegan food cart had a great selection of food. Got the nachos and it was delicious. read more

Very good can selection of ciders, sours, and other beers. Big open friendly grounds. Super.

This place is amazing! We were wondering where we could take our pooch to wear him out before getting on the ferry to Kodiak. We drove by Paws for a Beer which is right next to the ferry terminal and knew where we were going. So upset I didn't catch the name of the owner but he and his dog Crosby are awesome and extremely nice. We ended up meeting another coastie couple and many others, and our dog was in heaven playing with all the other dogs. The beer, cider, and wine selection is fantastic. What a brilliant idea and a lifesaver for anyone with a dog about to hop on the ferry! Hopefully will be coming back, this place is the best. read more

We were stressed for time, trying to decide on a park to take our dog and also where we could squeeze in a beer or two before I had to go to work. Then we stumbled across this place! Great idea and plenty of space for dogs to run around and play with each other. Lots of great canned beer, ciders, kombucha and also offered mimosas. Would recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of sitting in the sun drinking a beer and letting their dog roam around. read more

This place is genius! Since it's not socially acceptable to crack open a cold one in normal dog parks, this place is perfect. If your dog loves attention from strangers and treats. And you love beer you'll love this place!! read more

The beer/cider selection was good here and it was super easy to check my dog in. The dog play area was nice with communal toys and plenty of seating. Our dog had fun at first because most of the dogs there were nice. Then, after an hour of nice play time, a large and aggressive dog arrived. At first he was just kind of a bully, dominating my dog and trying to mount her (she's spayed and she just ran away when he did this). Then, less than 10 minutes after his arrival, he attacked our dog when she came up to share the water dish. He continued to try to bite our dog even as she was hiding under my arm. As I was pushing the aggressive dog away, he kept coming back to bite my dog. The dog bruised my hand and my husband had to pull this dog off of my dog and I. It was pretty obvious to everyone who saw that my dog didn't start anything and was not fighting back. To his credit, the bartender asked my husband if my dog was okay as I was leaving with her. However, as far as I know the aggressive dog and owner were not asked to leave. I was very disappointed because I have always heard this place was great. Not sure if we will ever go back and if we ever do I'll be watching my dog really closely. read more

Super cool to be able to let my dog go free while enjoying a beer. Came here with my friends and their dogs while they got to sniff and run around! Great place to come after work or to get a beer to play with other dogs! Great combination! read more

A safe, friendly, loving, and inviting place to bring your dog. I have been bringing my dog here 3 or 4 times a week for almost a year. It is the highlight of her day. Disappointed this place is not family friendly. We were so excited when we saw it in the paper, but didn't know 21+ until we arrived. But weirdly there was a table with paper and markers by the window for coloring? There are so many places in Bellingham that are kid, dog, and beer friendly I just can't imagine why a dog park would choose to exclude families. This place is such a good idea I hope this changes so that I can update my review. read more

I don't have a dog but couldn't resist stopping in to observe the fun dog owners and their pets having a great time. I ran into a neighbor who doesn't drink but brings her dog here regularlly for some exercise and "socializing". I think she was having as much "socializing" as her dog. All patrons and the staff were very friendly. read more

We just love this place. The atmosphere is so inviting, and you can tell they care about dogs. This place has really been a big part of our little bear's socialization. Each of the "bark tenders" brings their own furry friend, so they really do love and monitor the relationships that the dogs develop. We never take our dog to regular dog parks anymore. The owners that come to Paws are just so much more attentive and caring than regular dog park owners. Typically, guests here are very involved and care for any encounters of their furry friend. There's plenty of space and several optional barriers, so if you encounter a dog that's not an immediate friend, you're able to regulate the interaction. This dog bar is as much as each owner is willing to put into it. read more

I take my dog, Zena, here as often as I can. I live outside of LaConner, so it takes some planning to set aside the time. But I ALWAYS get her to P.F.A.B. for her birthday. Zena was a rescue and very anxious when I brought her home to the Farm in the Skagit. We did some doggie daycare socialization and training. So Paws for A Beer was really our first outing after the training/socialization. She absolutely loves this place and so does her human Mom. When I have friends from Seattle up for a weekend retreat I always bring them to Zena's favorite spot...and just like Zena, they never want to leave either! read more

What a great spot and a fantastic concept! Come with or without your pup to enjoy the great ambiance while sipping local beer, cider, kombucha, cold brew coffee...whatever. So many selections! Perfect place to wind down after work or on the weekend. No doggie owner guilt! No pooch smell and has a clean and open vibe. Cool outside area for dogs to run. Great location in Fairhaven near ferry/bus/train stops. Plenty of parking in front or behind. Lovely place - will be back! read more

Today I decided to check out this this place as a potential place to bring my new extremely small dog at some point in the future - a later date. She was healing from a spay and had also just been rescued. I explained this to the young woman behind the counter, saying I was only there to size it up and see if it might work for me at a later date. I was holding her in my arms as I did not want to leave her in the car. Even after explaining this, the woman said I should let her off the leash and let her "sort it out" with the other dogs. Seriously? A bunch of large rambunctious dogs would have swarmed her and most probably injured her, not to mention freak her out. Just dogs being dogs, but still not safe to put her down and leave her to the pack. Insurance company, are you listening? As I was talking to two people, after some minutes, a male employee came out, interrupted my conversation and said "How's it working out?" to which I responded, "too soon to tell", but he ignored me and told me to follow him into the bar and he would "get my membership going." The long and short is, they had no clue about the safety of my dog, the male interrupted my conversation with two nice people I may have gotten to know better (think building community), to be told to sign up or essentially hit the road. If you've ever had a time share salesperson hound you, you know how I felt. And, no, I won't be back. read more
