I had a few places in mind but they weren't really accommodating. When I stumbled upon the blue abode, I sent them an email. They were so quick to respond and offered to make me a custom drink menu, along with custom food options off the menu. They opened an hour early for us!!! I'm so grateful to them for all of their help in celebrating me and accommodating my friends. Will absolutely be dining here again, already can't wait to go back. Highly highly recommend. The ambience is so cozy and inviting as well!

Confession: even though I'm a dive bar fanatic and lived in nearby Bellingham for many years, I had never been to Outlaws before! Well, now I'm kinda regretting that. This place is what you'll find in a lot of dive bars: kinda dark, but with a lot of neon, and a lot of locals hanging out on a weekend night. In other words, it was perfect! Having already enjoyed a couple of margaritas and facing a long drive home later, I settled on a pint of my trusty fave, Mac 'n Jacks, while the bday crowd enjoyed a variety of shots and (apparently very strong) cocktails. We played some pool, sat around their HUGE communal table, and just enjoyed each other's company while the 80s tunes played and the bar filled up. While I didn't get to try any food while I was here, there are rumors going around that their wings are amazing - so next time I'm up that way, I'll have to check 'em out.

Sidewalk seating was constructed with tables separated be plywood walls with individual heaters, but safely open on the sides. A canopy overhead protects patrons from the rain. It was as Covid safe as possible. My martini couldn't arrive soon enough, and it was delicious. After not having anything to drink for weeks, by my third martini I loved everybody and everything, including Bellingham. Becka was our fun and engaging server, and she only enhanced our experience. Becka served us a warm blue cheese dip with some great chips. Monday, restaurants and bars in Washington can allow 25% capacity inside their establishments. The Temple Bar will be even more fun and more comfortable. I can't wait for my next visit to Bellingham.

She was accommodating, bringing items out as they were prepared and supplying us with to-go boxes in case. The blue cheese dip came first. It came with potato chips and bread. It was tasty but a bit too salty. It was better with bread--the chips were a nice idea but it pushed the sodium level too high. Both entrees were delicious. We ate them in a rush (not everything got photographed). The atmosphere is nice. Perhaps a bit dated (i.e.,1990s), but nice. I think it would be a perfect date spot when you have the time to leisurely enjoy bites and drinks.

The place is not inviting. Dark inside. It's hard to find any signage from the street that identifies the establishment. The web site has nothing but a map. I cannot find and current menu on line. Each used n/a spirits (n/a mezcal in the latter) and a symphony of sophisticated ingredients, which wish I tell you what. Each had a speared dried citrus slice and a luscious ginger bite (or something!) a top. The first had included honey, but it wasn't sweet--just complexified with a little snap to it that the honey smoothed; the second was a little sweeter in tone, including a bit of huckleberry along with the mezcal. (Connor might recall them by my play name for them. Inspired by a book in my hand on collecting meteorites, I nicknamed the first the "Extraterrestrial Visitor" and the second the "Heavenly Visitor.") They were so delicious I suggested he put them on the menu. If he does or doesn't, no matter. Just ask him if he has time to get creative for you. He'll ask you flavor tone preferences, or you can just go for whatever he wants to make, like I did. Again, he is excellent. I enjoyed my lovely drinks with a Caesar salad (another OMG!) which included crispy bacon bits and loads of tiny shreds of a delicious white cheese along with a creamy dressing. It was scrumptious as was the very lovely charcuterie plate. Pistachios, green apple slices, fat outstanding Castelvetrano olives (caution: with pits), a luscious pepper jelly that went beautifully dipped into with their choice of excellent crackers, delicately flavored salami and a prosciutto so elegantly-flavored it could make you weep. It was close to our hotel, and has charming half-moon booths. Summary? Uninspired with potential.
