On a recent Saturday I headed north to Ferndale for a friend's 50th bday soiree at a popular local Mexican restaurant. After sipping on some margaritas and nomming a quesadilla, we all headed to the after-affair at nearby Outlaws. Confession: even though I'm a dive bar fanatic and lived in nearby Bellingham for many years, I had never been to Outlaws before! Well, now I'm kinda regretting that. This place is what you'll find in a lot of dive bars: kinda dark, but with a lot of neon, and a lot of locals hanging out on a weekend night. In other words, it was perfect! Having already enjoyed a couple of margaritas and facing a long drive home later, I settled on a pint of my trusty fave, Mac 'n Jacks, while the bday crowd enjoyed a variety of shots and (apparently very strong) cocktails. We played some pool, sat around their HUGE communal table, and just enjoyed each other's company while the 80s tunes played and the bar filled up. While I didn't get to try any food while I was here, there are rumors going around that their wings are amazing - so next time I'm up that way, I'll have to check 'em out. read more

Its a dive bar....so it's a fun night. I came for the mechanical bull but was told it was no longer here. Apparently some liability issue from previous time. No more mechanical bull and shuffle board. The only thing left is a pool table. Came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Bartenders are great there and met some regulars who seem great too. Try one or two shots off their shot menu. Too many and some never heard of. Per the Bartender she only need the shot number not the name. Wish they had some live music or a juke box but maybe they do and we were too busy talking and playing pool to notice or dance. Can't wait to go back for another fun night. read more

Not only a bar... they also provide wedding bartending services. Outlaws made everything so simple and the cost was very affordable!!! Throughout the process they were extremely communicative, asking all of the right questions to help make an amazing memorable event. We had a wedding with 300 guests that offered a specialty drink, seltzers, beer, wine, and non alcoholic drinks. The bartenders were professional, friendly, efficient, and overall did a fantastic job. Getting married and looking for a wedding bartender? I would highly recommend Outlaws!!! read more

Outlaws Saloon is a no-frills bar that has everything you come to expect from a small town watering hole... Cold beer. Great prices. And a huge set of choices ranging from Rainier in a can to Ninkasi IPA on tap. They even have a couple pool tables, about a half dozen HD TVs, Big Buck Hunter, darts, air hockey, and a popcorn machine. What more could you really want? read more

Outlaws puts the "OO" in SalOOn. On Thursday evenings, they serve up the best chicken wings (both traditional and boneless) in all the land. Great prices and selection of beer. This is a western style bar that has a pool table and darts. Three flat screen television's are usually broadcasting sports. The servers are friendly and attentive. read more

If you are looking for a dumpy bar filled with people who have only obtained an 8th grade education, wear camo hats with cut off shirts and, have never seen a person of color in their life then this is for you! Don't get me wrong, I'm whiter than white but I turned heads because I had gel in my hair and wore a collared shirt. They must have thought I'm of them big city boys. Then, my friend of a brown complexion walked in behind me. It was sort of like TV where the record stops and everything sits still for a minute. I gave him about 15 minutes before he got shanked so we decided to leave. I will say this, the bartender was friendly and the beer was cold. This is not to say everyone there was racist, I'm just saying you might stand out. If you are a redneck looking for a redneck bar. Ignore my review. Its 5 stars for you. read more

Always hear great things about this place so when my friends mom remarried and the after party was going to be at outlaws I was excited...well that excitement turned into disappointment when it took 15 min to get a drink and the bar wasn't even packed the bartenders wernt friendly in the least bit. Bring your dog as a service pet. Welcome and openl it won't be the only one. Just don't ask about the food and maybe you will come for Thursday wing night. There is a barbecue truck ...but I wish it frequented the restaurant. Walk across the street and go to Bucks or just bring in a good subway. Pour list is solid. drinks are phat pours and the waitstaff is attentive and pleasant... if not heartbreaking. Couple of big screens for sports and touchtunes are usually backlogged with popular country rock 'n' roll or popular genres. One of the most beautiful "live edge" tables that runs about 30 feet that you will ever see. Pool is acceptable, men's urinal is a double cut keg that is as memorable as the art overhanging it. read more

We went there with ful intention of watching the Seahawk game. The bartender from the very minute we sat down was rude. Actually, was a bitch to us and everyone else except two obvious regulars. A customer asked her a question, and when he walked away she made an incredibly rude comment about him. Drink was weak, she wouldn't change the tv closest to us to the Seahawk game. And never acknowledged us again, even though we were at the bar. Lost our business, and the party that was joining us later. She lost the bar a good grand with her behavior. Never going back, and sharing our experience exponentially! Had to post already one star to get this review posted, but she deserved nothing!!! read more

No food, and the bartender didn't know the abv of the cider she poured me out of the tap. Amazed.

Was looking for a different resturant and happened into this one. The stairs are diagusting with ashes from cigarettes all over. The service was ok, long wait and took forever to bring our to go order. The burger was ok with bbq sauce. Nothing good to say about side salad, tasted like it came out of a bag. The onion rings at first warm were ok but as they cooled off tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Will not be returning. Walking up the stairs should of detered us from going in. read more

If I could select no stars, I would. The bartenders were rude. They served a drink to my friend and it had a fly in it. When my friend pointed this out and requested a new drink the bartender said "flies are everywhere, it's inevitable. I'd give you a new drink but it will probably have a fly, too." Kickass bar to meet and have a couple drinks. Frequent events (mechanical bull, trivia, Brewers nights) make for fun nights. darts, billiards, air hockey, video games, and a good stereo system with a jukebox makes for a good night. read more

The bartenders on Saturday had the worst attitude ever. I never been to a place like that before. It took me forever to get a drink there was a customer pointed at me and said he been there for Awhile she look at me and still didn't help me and kept helping the people that just came up to the bar. read more

With the other reviews being so old, I had hoped that things would have changed. Unfortunately it seems like that may not be the case; I'm here now watching the Seahawks, asked for a menu about 10 minutes ago and the waitress has yet to come back and take our order. Now that I think about it, she's not checked back in with me once at all the entire time I've been here. The place seems nice enough, the place has plenty of room, it's clean, has a nice selection of beer (the menu is limited, but it's a bar), the place has so much going for it; so much potential. Time after time, Outlaws is always the highlight of a night out in Ferndale. A perimeter of TV's make it a great place to rally for any game, between the beer and food specials, they are very accommodating to the sports fan (despite their WSU decor). It is also worth making it out for their mechanical bull nights, always entertaining! read more

We actually went in on Sunday, 1-4-15. When the 4 of us went in, no one acknowledged us for quite some time. Then, when heading up to the bar to order, we were met by a lady that appeared to be bothered that we were ordering drinks. She acted extremely put out that we would be ordering a drink at the bar. I know, weird... Make a long story short, it wasn't the experience I had expected. I may find my way in there sometime once I get my swerve on, but I wouldn't go there expecting an outstanding time to take place unfortunately. read more

Most of the bar tenders there are not very nice. Yes, they will get you what you order but it comes with a side of attitude. They pack people in there like sardines which makes it impossible sometimes to even get a drink. There are a few other places in Ferndale with friendlier, prompt service I would much rather support. Sorry girls, maybe put a smile on your face and be nicer to your customers. read more
