During a recent stay at the Fairhaven Village Inn (adjoining) we were excited about visiting Galloway's - based on the website's photos and posted menu. The place has potential but honestly disappointed. See photo below of the Hummus Platter. Really? Next came the "Baked Brie with Figs & Cherries" - which sounded delicious. No figs in sight - yes, a ramekin of baked brie with a bit of cherry in it, but... uninspired. We also ordered the Stuffed Potobello - and left most of it on the plate. Pros? It was close to our hotel, and has charming half-moon booths. Summary? Uninspired with potential. read more

Been here a couple times and I can say that it is an absolute treat! Not only is the staff incredibly welcoming, the cocktails are absolutely fantastic. This is what they mean when they use the phrase, curated mixology. They have crafted libations that will suit anyone's taste, and do so with excellent presentation and quality. This is a place that you go to and feel classy immediately upon walking in. Not so in a pretentious way, but in comfortable way. Also, their food menu consist of small tapa style food; The cheese stuffed dates are enough to send you to heaven! Excellent for a date night or night out with the girls/guys. read more

Mislead about dessert- was informed it was 'in the oven' then notified 15 minutes later that they were out of that dessert. Took about 50 minute for 1 drink per person and the bill. This is our second visit to Galloway's and this will be one of our regular places. The 1920's atmosphere is quite classy. The drinks are delightful and I highly recommend an early grey cocktail. Whenever we visit Fairhaven for dinner or a special occasion, we enjoy a cocktail at Galloway's. We have been fortunate to have Amanda behind the bar on our last few visits. She is welcoming, friendly, helpful and she definitely knows how to mix an amazing cocktail. If you are looking for speciality drink or just your usual, I highly recommend you stop in and visit. The service, ambiance and drinks will keep you coming back for more. I suggest you try the Cacao Espresso Martini. Totally delicious! Or just ask Amanda to mix you something special. read more

Such a classy, cute, and welcoming environment! The food was amazing and as was my drink, the Hibiscus Mojito. However, our service was VERY slow, although it didn't seem very busy, and it took us 40 minutes to get our drinks, at which point we were ready to go.. My bartender was a true expert in cocktails and I enjoyed 2. The chamomile infused tequila was so smooth, refreshing, and full of chamomile flavor. Small, classy, bar with an extensive drink menu. Being in Galloway's made me feel like I was on a 1920s Art Deco set. The service was attentive, fast, and friendly! Hands down the BEST cocktails I've ever tasted. I had one too many that I can't recall the names of the drinks that I ordered... but my favorites were topped with egg white foam. Definitely come here for a quick cocktail or romantic night out. There are only a few booths, so even when full, it didn't feel overwhelmingly busy. I'm not in Fairhaven very often, but on a walk the other day I was reminded of Galloway's and how much I liked it the one time I'd been there. But that was pre-pandemic and this, as they say, is now. So I was really happy to see that they'd created a wonderful outdoor patio. It was covered, heated, well-ventilated and well-spaced for safety. That it was an attractive place to be was a bonus! Server/Host Eli and Bartender Eric were as friendly and good-humored as could be. The cocktail menu looked fun. I decided to play Bartender-roulette, however, letting Eric decide for me and giving him absolutely no information about preferences. Some bartenders shy at this, but Eric was game. He brought me a Winter Rose, and it was one of the loveliest drinks I've ever had! Botanist Gin--which he described as floral--was the base, and the drink included apricot liqueur, cranberry simple syrup and lemon juice. Loved, loved, loved! From their nice little Petite Bites menu, we also enjoyed their Hummus Plate, including feta, cucumber, and rice crackers. I'm not sure what I thought of the addition of the cuce slices (and I like cuce!), but the hummus was lovely and fluffy, and I loved that it had a little feta sprinkled on top. Rice crackers were nice with it. I look forward to trying more items. As a fun aside: I noted that the two men helping us had names starting with "E." Eli laughed and said the names of all the women working there started with "A." I assumed he was joking, but the first female staffer to come out the door's name was Allison--so I still don't know if that's fully true, but it was great accidental timing and really funny! Friday night in historic Fairhaven District (Bellingham) my neice took us for drinks to Galloway's. This 1920's themed bar was beautiful. Feels like you stepped into that era in time. Beautiful roomy half circle booths, dim lighting and all. We started off work the hummus platter, drinks and the dessert trio. On the Dessert Trio the raspberry sorbet with basil oil was delightful. My lavender blues cocktail was fantastic. The bartender and staff were able great and gave my neice a gin tonic on the house for her birthday. The atmosphere is excellent. Soft Jazz and excellent drinks. Bartenders are very informative and attentive. Food and as great as well. Had the penne with beechers and a side salad. We are staying in the hotel next door and just came back from a wedding. We came to get a cocktail and we were told that we could not be served because they thought we were slurring our words. Absolutely ridiculous. We were not drunk. The other guests In the patio thought it was ridiculous as well. We also got scolded for having "open containers" of water. Update: I appreciate that the owner reached out. I wish the wait staff would have taken time to speak to us. The open containers were bottles of water that the Lyft driver gave us. We absolutely did not get out of a car and come into a bar with open containers of alcohol. We did have cocktails there the night before and they were delicious. So was our little snack platter that we had. Which is what we wanted to do that night but because we were loud and having fun we were labeled as intoxicated. Had anybody taken the time to actually have a conversation with us they would have understood that we were guests at the hotel, coming home from a wedding and just loud people in general. read more

So.... I really like this place generally speaking, and the drink I had tonight was fantastic, but the server left so much to be desired that I have to give it less of a score. It took forever to even get someone to our table, he begrudgingly took our food order though he only wanted to take the drink order, and while I finished my drink about a third of the way through the meal, I was never offered another. The ambience is nice, the food is standard and pretty consistent but the service... just fell way short. read more

Invariably, I ended up ordering the bartender special and it never disappoints. I love the appetizers that are offered and can't resist the desserts from Pure Bliss. We did a Monday date night and it was a great experience. The service was fantastic and they were very attentive to us. The cheese plate was delicious and plated gorgeously. We lucked out and got the french onion soup as our second course which was very well done. Our one disappointment was the stuffed portobello. Both the flavor and texture were off and it just felt a little mushy and not appetizing. The cocktails were fantastic and the pistachio ice cream paired with the espresso martini was absolutely decadent. I wish I could give 4.5 stars because my only complaint is the portabella dish, but otherwise it was a wonderful date night and I would highly recommend. read more

When you need to feel like Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby, this is the place to go. It's an adorable 1920s Prohibition style bar, and Tuesday is Ladies' Night! Mind you, it's not loud, boisterous, and happenin', it's a great place to enjoy a relaxing cocktail. The cocktails range from classic to inventive (but heavy on the gin), and while I didn't get to eat here, the snacks looked pretty yummy. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. Great cozy little place to grab cocktails! The customer service is great! My group came in because we were doing an engagement shoot and liked the vibe. The bartender was kind and let us use a booth. We wanted a Moscow mule and she offered the drink special which was so delicious (what I was told by the man who drank it)--blackberry mule with bourbon. And she made a mock-tail for the girl since she turns bright red after any alcohol.... and she said it was so good for being a virgin drink! So happy we discovered this spot. Came by while visiting Bellingham to discover a band playing in the town square and this was the perfect spot to sit outside with our dogs and enjoy the vibe. My girlfriend loved the Peach Paloma, and I appreciated the curated beer offerings. And we both enjoyed the baked brie + fig so much we came back the next day for more. This is the cutest little place. They make amazing cocktails! I'm talking infused liquor. I had the special peach gin drink tonight and quickly ordered another. All I can remember from our long walk through Fairhaven the other day was that I was freezing as we sat ourselves down in the outside pavilion in front of Galloway's cocktail bar next to the Village Inn and a small creperie. Never been here before, but I was thirsty and yes, freezing. The dining area, though outside was large and heated. Could have served as a picnic area (indeed, someone wanted to eat a burrito from another place, but that's not what this place is for). Great, I thought. I ordered a French Toast Toddy and boy, did that hit the spot. Warm, sweet, with just the right amount of rye to warm the coldest toe in my shoes. My partner ordered something more exotic, all pink and frothy, but to be honest, while she raved about it, I have no recollection of what it was. She loved it. We shared some crackers and hummus, and I ordered another toddy. The servers, guys with names beginning with the letter "E" were terrific, cordial and helpful. Loved the place. Perfect on a cold winter's day. We left about an hour later, having spent a lovely time sitting and chatting. That's what a good bar is all about. I wasn't freezing when we left. read more

We walked into Galloway's last night and I felt a bit chilly so we asked Matt if they had any hot drinks on the menu, his response was "No, we haven't made the fall change yet, but what did you have in mind?" We told him nothing in particular but one sweet and the other not so much. He returned shortly with a two drinks that were delicious, exactly what we needed. Perfect. Later we asked Matt for dessert, we told him we would like a Nanaimo Bar and if he could bring another hot drink to compliment... Matt delivered again, he nailed it. When I asked, he told me none of our drinks will be on the fall menu. That's the reason we love Galloway's because the staff loves their job and are allowed to use their personal creativity to deliver and make happy loyal customers read more

Oh man what a treat! I stopped in for Happy Hour and tried the bartender's special of the day ($8!!). It was so good I couldn't help but eventually order a second. I wish I could remember the name but it had grapefruit vodka, Prosecco and who knows what else? Definitely pop in for a drink, even better if it is during happy hour. read more
